I like to think that God, or the Force or whatever - I'll just call it God... God doesn't know good from bad. God wants to give us everything we want in our lives and the way we express what we want is by focusing on it. If we focus on things we consider bad, we will get those things, if we focus on things we consider good, we get those things. The expression - be careful what you wish for - is pretty much true.

I agree with the first half of that sentence, but would modify the second half as follows:
If we focus on things we consider bad, we will get those things, if we focus on things we consider good, we might get those things.

The power of the mind Pete, it takes alot of skills and dedication to learn how to focus though, at least I think. I try to meditate, does anyone know any other techniques?

One meditation technique is directly related to focus. The idea is to spend 5 minutes meditating on something very simple and common - say, a matchstick. You visualize on how it looks, how it would feel, taste, smell, the sound it makes when you light it. You visualize it completely, and concentrate only on the matchstick - never letting your mind wander.
Next, day, try something else... a penny. Try going longer than 5 minutes. Directing your mind to focus on something very simple for long periods of time is a challenging exercise.

Since I'm back here nosin around things I know nothing about I just have to tell Pete about this coincidence.
Five years ago while camping at Yellowstone I wanted to call my dad,he had just had a triple bypass the month before.
We jumped in the car and I told my son to tell me when my cell phone signal was good enough to make a call with.
We drove about 15 minutes when he said "Stop here,good signal".
Immediatly after he said that the phone rang.
It was my pa.
He died shortly after we came home.

Jankia, I think it might have been a connection you two had perhaps. Some people believe that it might be your higher self warning you, so many theories of course. The day that my father passed away, I knew he was without anyone telling me anything, even the time. I don't know about you but as for me it was this feeling that you just can't shake off. I don't normally share this.
Pete as far as Synchronicity, it does happen often. I suppose that's why it's not good sometimes depending on the person or situation to "think someone up" as they say lol

This, again, goes to the topic of focus - turning your attention to someone. As we direct our focus, or "think someone up", they will often appear in our lives, out of the blue - so to speak. We create our own synchronicity. And yes, sometimes, if we're not careful, it may not necessarily seem like a good thing.

Synchronicity..I experence this often but it does depend if I am in tune with myself/life. If i am out there then no, I can not feel beyond the happenings around me.
Its funny , so many things to discover if I just take the time and be silent.

That is the simple version. According to what I read it is actually Jungian theory. My explanation is the universe and my path intersect causing an AHA moment.
I have had plans before that due to circumstances had to be changed and as I thought about how to change the plans........the other party changed their plans and boom I was freed up and no one's feelings got hurt. We were both pulled away due to our own life path. Things that you are looking for in life all of a sudden appear before you as you walk up on them......it no longer surprises me it just makes me smile to see it happen again like a deja vu experience.
An AHA moment.

Water...I agree, the moments are there but only if you are still enough to notice them.
And Beach--AHA! Gotta love those moments! But...did ya ever think maybe you were being saved from a mistake by being pulled back to your life path? There have been things that have happened that at first were a dissapointment, but later I said a big WHEW!

Just a random thought to add to the discussion:
Imagine that all human beings were born color blind except you. You would have an extremely difficult time convincing anyone that there is such a thing as color, much less that you have the ability to see it.
There are quite possibly human abilities that are extremely uncommon and difficult to explain much less prove, yet exist. This is not to say that every person who claims some special ability in fact has that ability, but we cannot say with any certainty that such an ability does not exist.

Is anyone here familiar at all with the intricasies of numerology? If, for example, when you meet someone, you speak for the first time on the fourteenth, at fourteen minutes past the hour, and the next time you speak is fourteen minutes later?
Is it my imagination, or would this be significant?
Just kind of popped out at me as I was going through my emails, and struck me as important, somehow.

14 is rather a Gemini-like number, with flashes of Uranian suddenness just for fun; it generally involves communications and media. It also relates to speculation, particularly gambling, but luck comes from relying on one's own intuition.
