What do you think about the people over in Great Britian getting caught?
Did you or do you ave any plans to fly out of the country?
I have to say. " Good Job" to the agency's over there for being on top of things!
Hm, would you be willing to put your cell phone in your checked luggage? I really think it might come to that soon too. Plus all electronic stuff.

The terrorists are doing a good job at making car travel seem economic for medium distances.
Now it's a three hour wait for security plus say a two hour flight time. That's five hours in the airport system plus whatever it takes to get to your final destination.
It makes trips from Birmingham to Columbia or Charleston, SC, which is seven or eight hours by car, more suitable by car than airplane.
Figure in the diminishing costs per passenger for additional passengers in a car versus the increasing cost for airplane travel.
BTW it's a two hour flight from Hartsfield-Jackson to Logan. By car that would be a solid two day drive given that Beltway traffic is abhorrant.

The terrorists are doing a good job at making car travel seem economic for medium distances. I like to drive anyway. It's the American way and there's no better way to see America. Travel to Australia does get a bit dicey in the car though.

Yep, notice no roller furling...I'd need that swabbie/first mate I hadn't done any serious sailing since my Coastie days, but I still remember how to pop the 'chute over Long Island Sound and duck when the boom comes about.
I also rember to avoid seasickness by going over the stern than in the head.
Right, right, returning...
Now if I was only twenty years older...
Thank God the TSA isn't regulating pleasure boating...yet.

Hm, looks like these people got caught using cell phones. Like the Tracfone ones.
Does everyone realize that using a cell phone is like broadcasting everything to the world? At one place in a walmart, there had been 600 of these phones bought over a time period. Now, lets talk about this Hydrogen Peroxide stuff.
An easy thing to buy evidently huh? I realize that it is a more concentrated version than the stuff you by for cuts and stuff, but it can be bought at alot of hobby stores.

Now look I think that taking baby formula away from parents and making them drink it is too much! What if the mother breast feed and that was HER milk in the bottle!
Hydrogen Peroxide? This will probably mean that we will need a Rx to buy it. They locked up all the cold meds cause folks were buying them to make illegal drugs. What next? We are turning from a free society to one that has more laws and reg's then China!
A friend of mine told me that the terrorists spent only $25,000 to complete 9/11. He said look what it has cost us: no telling how much money, lives, security and our freedom. He asks who do you think won? If you dont know the answer, go to a airport today and look at the long lines, go to any federal building and look at all the security, any national monument, try getting into the White House on a tour, go to Disney World and have your bags searched. We are losing more and more of our freedoms as Americans in the name of security. I dont mind, but will it work? Will our lives ever be the same? Or will they just keep on trying until they succeed again?

are you ever going to be safe...NO....is it possible to be 100% safe ...NO.....can you do things that makes it harder for the terrorist to accomplish their goals...YES....is it going to completely stop them..NO......are these things going to be an inconvenience for you....YES.....is it necessary....yes IMO because a pound of prevention is worth an ounce of inconvenience the grand scheme of it all......

Well, to start with, a few country's have started to revolk the Visa's of known terrorist country's.
We never will be safe. I do believe there is more that can be done. Oh yes, we are a free country, to go anywhere in the world we want.
But there are dangers every where. We need to be on our "toes". To be watchful, to trust our "gut instincts".
I believe our "innocence" in believing it won't happen to us started on the day of the Oklahoma bombing.

I agree with all both you are saying, its just seems so insane that we have to go to these extreames to prevent this sort of thing. I dont pretend to know how to fix it. I just wish that things did not have to be this way. And I will stand quitely in line with everyone else while I am being inspected and probed and searched, since it ensures me some safety. I was just wondering aloud how things came to be this way. And how much more we are going to have to do to keep preventing it from happening again.

On the face of it Katt I would agree with you, in fact I would love to agree with you in saying "Well done to Scotland Yard, MI5, MI6 and any other security service that helped rumble this latest so called imminent terrorist attack" However....
Things aren't always what they appear..... cracks are already appearing and people are asking questions. One of those arrested has already been released???
A spokesman for the British Muslim Community stated on tv that the Muslim leaders had been informed of an up and coming Security Forces operation (no specific details of the operation were given). Why risk the chance of a tip-off???
If this threat was so imminent and could have had such dire consequences, why is our Government (bar a skeleton crew) still on holiday???
Seeing as at the same support for Israel is falling in the UK, what better way then to get us all re-focussed on the Muslim enemy......hmmmm?
