gore stating he invented the computer oh jesus, another quote taken out of context.
al gore sat on the committee that gave funds to the people who were discovering and inventing the internet, therefore, he had a hand in it indirectly. that is all he meant.

And Two, Gore never claimed to invent the computer. The neo-cons claimed that he claimed he invented the Internet. The fact is he held the first hearing on taking a DARPA technology and moving it over to civilians. It was that technology that gave way to the Internet.

Sorry
Sorry, but I read somewhere that if term limits are enacted, it will place inexperienced congresspeople into positions they have little acumen at, leaving the lobbyists with more power than they have now. Now, that's a frightening thought... Ok... So lets have term limits, and BaN lobbyist... Why should we allow big business to buy votes, wine and dine politicians, or donate to the campaign of an elected official for favors... These people are supposed to represent the people that elected them, not big business...
I would rather have common sense in Washington with fresh ideas, then have career politicians who grow more corrupt with each term... Just my opinion...

The point is the Democrats should win a lot of seats this election, that's a given, but they can still screw some up by being smug, thinking they can coast because of Iraq. There's still a huge conservative segment in this country, and if the Dems don't respect that voice (as Kerry's comments have illustrated) they can still lose some seats they should win.

There is always someone that can say things so much better than I can! Here is a good example.

Can't remember where I heard or read this, but take note!
Republican voters are very concence(sp) of going out and voting at every election.
Democrate voters tend to stay home or do something else.
In this election coming up, if you plan to try to change your Govenor and the Senators,,etc, you better get out and vote, plus take someone with you that might not have voted if you hadn't drug them along.
They only expect around 1/3 of the voters here in California to voye next week. Sad huh? Plus, I don't want to hear any wa, wa whiny people crying over the election if they were to lazy to get theirselves out to vote!!!!!!
Ok,,,,exiting quietly,,,,,,

I'm going out and voting. As much as I can't stand Bob Menendez for killing the Ports Deal, he is the lesser of two evils and I will vote for him.

I'll tell you, I've never seen as much Democratic activity as I have this year though....I've gotten 3 Dem calls for every 1 Republican call, as well as a house visit from two Dems. There've also been packets including application for mail-in votes (which I get anyway), with follow up calls to get out the vote...not to mention invitations to meet Jim Pederson and John Kyl, and breakfast with Mrs Pederson, and solicitations to join in house parties to get out the vote (bring your cell phone and charger...).
If we don't have a decent turnout in Phoenix, it sure won't be because a lot of people weren't trying hard - both parties (but I'm seeing a lot more from the Dems)!
