At the time of his capture I remember seeing an old Kurdish woman who wanted "death by 1000 cuts". She wanted him put in a cage so people could come from all around the country and cut pieces of him off.

There's a kind of interesting interview with Dan Rather on FOX right now. He says that Saddam is still trying to maneuver a way out by calling for an end to the violence in Iraq and against American troops.

I'm no fan of the death penalty but that's longstanding Iraqi law and not my place to complain.
In the case of Saddam he's killed somewhere between 300,000 and 3 million people. If there's gotta be a death penalty, nobody deserves it more.

I would be more than happy to see him turned loose somewhere in heavilly populated Shia or Kurdish areas of the country.

I wonder if those pro-forgiveness would forgive Saddam his crimes against humanity? There are some things that canNOT be forgiven, and his crimes are included in that!

the word is hanged...actually ..actually... either hung or hanged is correct grammatically, it is purely a preference which term you use.

i'm not going to celebrate someone's death. i don't believe in that kind of "retribution" anyway. in the end he's just getting what he wants.

I'm not gonna celebrate it either LG, but I do believe that it is a justifiable and correct death sentence. At least this time there is no cause to even harbour the possibility that he is an innocent man.
