6 years ago, I might have agreed with you. Not anymore though. He has helped Bush do most of the damage he has done and I have lost all respect for him.

I don't like Mccain either, he had a bad problem of playing piggie back, when someones approval rating fell...he attacked Obama his friend, then apologized saying he didn't mean it a month later...lol. I mean its all BS...
Hilary is just running off her name...I don't like EITHER...8). But, I would vote for Hilary lessor of the two evils...
Peace, George

I'd vote for Hilary over McCain as the lesser of two evils. McCain has just been pushing this amnesty thing for illegal immigrants so hard, I think if he were to win, he would make it sound like that was the main reason he won, and that might convince others to adopt that soft on illegal immigration position which would be bad for the country. It isn't like Hilary has been tough on illegal immigration, far from it, but at least she hasn't been making so much noise about granting amnesty to illegals and being soft on illegal immigration like its a good thing. Also his comment about he'd offer 50 bucks an hour to a citizen to go pick lettuce in the fields all season long and that american citizens can't and won't pick lettuce for 50 bucks an hour and thats why we need the illegals. That just told me he was way way out of touch. I know lots of citizens who'd do it for less than half that, me among them.

Since Hilary is now learning how to be a conservative liberal, and McCain is already a liberal conservative it wouldn't matter which one would win. There isn't 2 cents difference between them.

All I can say about Clinton is I hope she gets the nomination. Makes it an easy election for the best one out there at this time. McCain

I doubt that it will be either one of them. It's real early in the Election cycle. But both Hilary and McCain carry far to much baggage. McCain is about to get hammered because the GOP base considers him to be a RINO and will not lift a finger when the Dem's smear him with Charles Keating and Lincoln Savings and Loan.
Hilary....Well that whole Vince Foster thing has never been explained, well enough for me to ever want that crazy woman in the White House.
Fun reading on the Death of Vince Foster

If we keep electing the lesser of two evils, we will continue to have sub-standard leadership. It makes that whole wasting your vote on a third party thing look very attractive.

I cant wait for John McCain to run for something again......I swear, those Saturday Night Live skits where they were making fun of him were hillarious. In one of them, he is sitting squatted down in his chair eating his food out of a bowl with his fingers, and any time someone tried to talk to him, he would freak out like they were his Vietnamese captors.

I honestly don't believe Hilary will get the nomination from the DNC. She's too polarizing.
I can see her on the VP side of the ticket....maybe. But not as the presidential candidate.

MJ: I so agree. She doesn't do a thing for me personally as a possible candidate, but then again, I don't keep up with her policy maneuverings, etc. She represents NY, not NC. I used to greatly admire McCain, based mostly on his previous war experience and obvious strength of character to survive, but judging from the past couple of years, I'm not clicking with him either. John Edwards is idealistic, but too inexperienced. Obama is intelligent but he is also too inexperienced, and I'm afraid he would be assassinated quite quickly if elected. For me right now there are no stars...but I'm wondering if maybe that's the way it should be....kinda equal where candidates have to step up and stand on a platform of plans for issues, and not just new spotlights on the horizon. Geez....as you all can tell, I don't know, and I share it all with you all.

There was a very interesting piece on Keith Olbermann about the 2008 race. First, 2008 will be the first election since 1952 when there as not an incumbent (counting VPs as incumbents) in the race.
The piece discussed at length the McCain vs Guiliani factor -- both are from the more moderate wings of the party. No Republican nominee has come from this wing for some time. Even George H.W. Bush, 41, only secured the nomination after totally backtracking on his support not only for abortion (he gave the most moving speech on the House floor in favor of Medicaid funded abortion) but also his support for family planning (when in the House, his nickname was "Rubbers.")
Since Reagan, Republican nominees had to nail down the social conservative vote to win -- economic, supply-side conservatives be damned. As some social conservatives did not turn out for the 2006 mid-term elections, because candidates were not conservative enough, I have a hard time believing these key individuals will support either McCain or Guiliani; however, at this juncture (especially with the defeat of George Allen, AKA Senator Macaca), I don't see around whom the social conservation will rally.
