Hopefully all goes well Sponge, also in the east-southeast sky just before dawn on Sunday morning Mercury,Mars and Jupiter will be grouped together for the first time since 1925.Wont happen again until 2053.
Hold your fist straight out with your pinky on the horizon and they will be only halfway up your fist, very low on the horizon. They will appear very close with Mercury just above Jupiter and Mars just to the right

70% chance of launch right now.

The Gemenids meteor shower is expected to peak in the middle of the week as well.

Irish - you have no idea how I envied you southeasterners being able to see and hear the real thing while I was watching the liftoff. Absolutely awesome!

I didn't see from the same vantage point as Irish but I did get to see it after liftoff out the front door where I was.

And we're used to double booms on re-entry.
