I don't know about the rest of you, but I am not willing to spend money we don't have, to fight an endless war. We are making a horrible mistake here and taking our country down the drain in more ways than one. We are drowning in debt to places like China already. What in the world is wrong with our government that they are willing to to do this?

Let them have their Islamic state. What do I care? It is theirs, after all.

I say bring our troops home to defend our own country and stop trying to get control of the oil in the mideast. We need to find a way to meet our energy needs, without destroying the planet anyway. We just need to get the oil barons out of the way and get it done!

We can already see that Bush intends to go on the same way he has been going. He has made that pretty clear.

I think it is time to take to the streets to stop this so called war (it is actually legally a conflict, for only congress can legally declare war).

I agree, it is a mess over there and at first i thought good might come out of it. Maybe it will one day but as you said it will take many yrs if it does.

I think most would agree Saddam was a tyranical maniac but there was some kind of stability under his reign even though most despised it.

It's become a playground for terrorism over there, the very thing we were supposed to irradicate.

An alternative for fossil fuels is slow in coming it seems and maybe some are just delaying further progress .

No,no..i meant i'm getting old with my forgetting stuff...lol

It goes to show anyway how terrorism is so hard to get rid of..It is not your average conventional war and i don't think it will ever be totally got rid of.

It isn't the government. It is the people. You, I and everyone around.

Excellent words bj.

If the USA kept its nose out in the first place, more likelihood there would not have been a 9/11.

These attacks are all, afterall "revenge" attacks. And they will continue and persist regardless of the might of the American nation or its allies.

Like I said in here awhile ago. You wont defeat them as the British Government could not defeat the IRA or all the other buggers throughout time.

It is just futile and pointless. The only way is through containment and control via economics and political clout. Not through showing them warfare, blood and guts of women and children. Just fueling their fires and giving them more reasons to hate and spite us.

Think about it.... the USSR was more deadly to the United States than anyone. Look what happened through politics and economics. They collapsed. If the British and Americans kept there nose out of the Middle east from years back and controlling the other nations around, none of this would have happened. CIA armed them and gave them cause that went along way to fuel all this crap.

"Imperialsim" at its best!

If staying in Iraq is completely untenable and we must leave before a transition to a stable, non-violent government, I think we should make it very clear to whomever wins power that if any aggressive act against the US emanates from that country we will bomb them into oblivion, meaning nuclear, if need be.

Then Iran should hurry up and get theirs before you invade them

Yep!

Kill all the children! Burn them, boil them in their skins and call them "boil in the bags".

Kill all the women. See the ones survive and be deformed and give birth to generations of malformed human life.

Kill all the old and infirm. The sick.

Yep. Lets Bomb the Bastards.

****

Sorry but people should think before they make statements.

Wars were a lot shorter before the rise of the anti war crowd. Gotta figure, there's no better campaign platform than a pile of bodies.

This is merely an opinion not a fact. The fact is that this has been going on for well over 1500 years, it is not new, and will not end until the world is free or under the rule of islamofascists.

Absolutely. The people took to the polls and shouted out per ballots they want out of Iraq!!!! Bush of course we all know isn't listening to the people.

Once the new House and Senate take control the majority of the people can hope that will be the beginning of the quick end of the Iraq conflict.

The street "terrorists" fighting on the street in Iraq would be required to swim to the USA if they are planning on raising hell over here.

No problem, you can convert to Islam, forget about defeating Islamofacism and go on your merry way.

Don't forget to wear your berka though. You get public execution for that.
