Well folks, looks like winter is finally making an appearance......and boy oh boy......what an entrance!!
This storm that is currently travelling NE up the United States has a current death toll of 39. I hope that all our friends and loved ones are safe, and also all those who will be out there trying to make sense of the havoc wreaked.
If any of you miss Spongebob's posts....Jackson County was hit late last night, and hundreds of thousands are without power. I know I miss him terribly, and hope he returns to us very soon.

I tried calling my son and then my father today and didn't get an answer. They live south west of Sponge in Hillsdale county. Jackson county really got hit the hardest so far, but then I bet Sponge was ready for it!

You're right, Katt....he's very practical and likes to be prepared....it's just the trees around his house that worry me. I don't like being out of touch, because it makes the worries all seem worse than they really are. He's so isolated out there.
This storm apparently came all the way across six states. If it began in Texas, is it the same one that hit Washington, or was that another front?

Uh....... I guess you are a little late on this one if you haven't been paying attention to what has been happening to us here in the Pacific Northwest. Maybe you all need to get a little taste of what we've been having.

Uhh.....quite aware, thanks.
BTW....that's awful, Striving, to wish what you've gone through on anyone else. People have died because of this three wave storm that has crossed your country from one corner to the other.

 i guess all my family( except my son that lives in Ohio) is out of power! No one answers phones. Now, if they would just have a regular phone, ( not a cordless) I could get ahold of them!
Let us know about Sponge. Although, I can see him out there helping everyone else!

I'm very surprised that storm didn't hit Toronto. We were right in its path. It got as close as Hamilton, and NY....but totally missed us. All we got was a whole lotta rain, and about an inch or two of snow. The kids are usually out tobogganning by now.....it is January for heaven's sake!!

Still 9,000 without power in Jackson County alone. There are 128 crews deployed there to restore the power lines. The ice is beginning to melt today under cold, but sunny conditions.
I have faith that Spongey will be back online tonight.
