CNN was doing a story on Christie Brinckley being the first "Covergirl" spokesperson over 50, (53 in fact), Liz Hurley modeling over 40... Tyra Banks taking heat for bad pictures....
I think its great, but I hear so many complaints... from women about how unreal these people look... its progress, getting the models to be older bigger, etc...
but why are so many women are harder on these folks than men are?....

My mother was the dining room manager of a large private country club in michigan for many years. She always used to say that a table full of women was pretty much always a worse situation for the wait staff than a table full of men, because the woman were always so critical of everything when they got together in a group. They found fault with everything. Yet those same women, when they would come back individually another time with their family or their husband, were unfailingly polite.

Maybe part of it is jealousy that age or imperfections isn't slowing those women down from being in the spotlight.
I have to say Christie Brinkley doesn't even look close to her age. I can only hope to maintain what I was given, as well as she has, but without jealousy that SHE did!

Well if 50 is the new 40 .
And 40 is the new 30
Women look better for longer and its great to see older women at the height of their careers and looking great .. so long as they dont try and look 20

Complaints about how Christie looks? You have got to be kidding! I have had a crush on that woman since the 1970s. And she STILL looks absolutely AMAZING!
I think she is one of the most beautiful women of our time.
She had a modeling contract with Cover Girl magazine for 20 years starting in 1976. The longest modeling contract ever. They knew how to pick 'em!
