I'm a Genuine TreeHugging, BleedingHeart, Liberal... and I'm Proud of it... There is nothing wrong with it...
there 's nothing wrong with being a Conservative... I know allot, and I like some,(as long as we don't discuss Politics)
I'm part of the Loony Left, not the wack`o right...
we need Democrats and Republicans... and More Independents
we need people who think for themselves... I'm not sure if we need people who blindly fallow, But I suppose without them there'd be no Leaders?
No, I wasn't trained to be a Liberal in some Afghan/Al-Qaeda training camp...
Yes I'm a Liberal... There, I said it... no Apologies... it's what My Conscience tells me to do... it's what My mind, Heart, and Soul says is right...
you must fallow your own heart... just make sure it's your Heart your following, and not some BumperSticker...
so go ahead and Hate me Quietly, if you Must...

Are you bragging or complaining? He's doing neither-he's simply stating a fact about his beliefs...it's up to the right-wingers to do the complaining; right after which, he'll be asked why he hates America, and be told to move to Iraq or Iran or France or wherever...Goodideaman, "...you're a braver man than I am, Gunga Din!" It just seemed strange that someone should start a thread to declare that he's a liberal. (It would be equally odd if a Republican did it, too) What is even stranger is the assumption is that somehow now he's hated for being a liberal and, in the good old communist tradition from the beginning of the last century, he's willing to put his beliefs before himself and take all the "hate" for the cause.
Why would anyone confuse disagreement with hate?

Not taking any sides, but I'm anxious to see some of this between the opposing views.

Liberalism refers to a broad array of related doctrines, ideologies, philosophical views, and political traditions which hold that individual liberty is the primary political value.[1] Liberalism has its roots in the Western Age of Enlightenment, but the term has taken on different meanings in different time periods.
Broadly speaking, liberalism emphasizes individual rights. It seeks a society characterized by freedom of thought for individuals, limitations on power (especially of government and religion), the rule of law, the free exchange of ideas, a market economy that supports free private enterprise, and a transparent system of government in which the rights of all citizens are protected.[2] In modern society, liberals favor a liberal democracy with open and fair elections, where all citizens have equal rights by law and an equal opportunity to succeed.[3]
Many new liberals advocate a greater degree of government interference in the free market, often in the form of anti-discrimination laws, universal education, and progressive taxation. This philosophy frequently extends to a belief that the government should provide for a degree of general welfare, including benefits for the unemployed, housing for the homeless, and medical care for the sick. Such publicly-funded initiatives and interferences in the market are rejected by modern advocates of classical liberalism, which emphasizes free private enterprise, individual property rights and freedom of contract; classical liberals hold that economic inequality, as arising naturally from competition in the free market, does not justify the violation of private property rights.
Liberalism rejected many foundational assumptions which dominated most earlier theories of government, such as the Divine Right of Kings, hereditary status, and established religion. Fundamental human rights that all liberals support include the right to life, liberty, and property.[B]
A broader use of the term liberalism is in the context of liberal democracy (see also constitutionalism). In this sense of the word, it refers to a democracy in which the powers of government are limited and the rights of citizens are legally defined; this applies to nearly all Western democracies, and therefore is not solely associated with liberal parties.
If this is right, then I guess I am one too.

Maybe he read all of your posts attacking liberals? In case he didn't, I'll post some more. :)
I strongly dislike the ideas of liberals. That's much different than hating them as people.

if we are not our Belief, "Ideas", and moral values... then what are we? Try "people". At least two of my best friends are hard core liberals. Often times we have political discussions and disagree to hell and back. But we're still best friends. I still don't see why I should hate them.

if we are not our Belief, "Ideas", and moral values... then what are we? Well I don't know about you but I am a human being first and foremost. I assume that is the condition of all other people as well. But if people insist on being identified by some other criteria then that is their choice, but I find that very odd indeed.

lol... are you sure? maybe you are an earthling first, then an animal, a Mammal, and a human last... but if your thinking about what you are, you're probably Human... if you're thinking about who you are? what then?
being human or people is what makes us the same... since I was speaking of what makes us who we are, (Leftist, Liberal, Republican etc...) unless you think that all humans are the same...

I have often wondered if my right hand is Conservative and my left hand is Liberal...
Considering that getting by without one or both is extremely hard and a case study in tragedy and hobbled functionality... Literally handicapped...
Worse yet, what if my left and right hands engaged in useless slapping contests... rock/scissors/paper competitions and endless debates as to which hand had (lol) "the upper hand"...
Ahh... It is *so* good to see that no one in the real world engages in these sorts of left vs right wars and that my little model of hands in combat is only a bad little dream...

I abhor "labels". They belong on "boxes" and I've always been one to fight my way out, and try to coexist with the rest of the world...outside "the box".
Hmmm, "conservative liberalist"?...I'll make my OWN rules -- for myself, as long as it doesn't harm others. And I'll investigate all sides and draw my own conclusions, form my own opinions.

Why do you hate America?
Why don't you support the troops?
How dare you have an independent thought?
