There's a lot of discussion going around inside the Beltway right now about possibly getting Dick Cheney to run for Prez in 2008.. 
This strikes me as a bit odd, considering Bush's dismal level of public approval, and Cheney's approval ratings being even lower.. But the Repubs seem to be having trouble coming up with a solid prospect for a candidate. Even Condi Rice was drafted last year. But that fizzled pretty quickly, and in my view we're very fortunate it did..
Would you vote for Dick Cheney??

(^A landslide) for whoever would be running against him.
Sure got to agree with that. I really can't imagine who in the Repub party thinks a Cheney candidacy would get even halfway to first base.
But the talk about that is serious. It's been on the news a number of times. If we could be any worse off than we are now, that's about the only way to do it.

True. But I think that was before all the recent recruiting-like moves by the Republicans this past week, wasn't it?
He's always said that in the past. I wonder of any of that might change now that he seems to be being sought out to some degree by a few misguided souls who should probably consider serious counseling.

All that being said, there are no real frontrunning viable candidates for the republicans. So if it came down to it, do you vote for Cheney or Hillary?

If he's elected, it'll be the first time since FDR that a president has served more than two terms...

How true it is. If it came to Cheney as the only opposition, even I would vote for Hillary!! Heck I'd vote for the janitor first!!

I think most people miss the point of the VP's main duty. His main function has become the "hatchet man" for the president. The closest I can think of similarity to Shotgun Dick was Spiro Agnew in his support of Nixon on the war and law & order. Even Papa George was a spokesman for Reagan's "Trickle Up Theory" on Economics even though he called it "Voodoo Economics" during the primaries.
In reality, he is just doing his job, as is Connie and the others in King George's court. "The Spin Family"!!!!!!!!!

I dunno. If you were to ask me, I'd say he's even crazier than Dubya.. And that takes a lot!! And even scarier too. Maybe a little more articulate though.
Then you've got that whole Halliburton-ethrics, conflict-of-interest thing, among others. And an approval rating of 18% which in my opinion is about 16% on the high side.
Nahh.. He sure wouldn't get my vote.. If he and Karl Rove and the shrub were all running against each other, I'd probably vote for ole W, much as it hurts to say that.
