By now everyone knows of the Tawana Brawley case. But the real question is, do any of you think Al Sharpton might have set the whole thing up? Considering his race-baiting extortion of the corporate world, is it impossible to believe he'd be low enough to stage a rape?

I think Tawana Brawley made it up, she has admitted she did. I do think Sharpton milked it for every ounce of publicity he could get out of it.

Agreed.. I don't think Al Sharpton was a conspirator from the beginning, or that surely would have come out somewhere along the line. But an opportunist he was, in a very big way, which is the only way Sharpton does anything, with a lot of splash, hubbub and lots of publicity. He gets into a Media Frenzy!! I was reading something yesterday which described Sharpton perfectly. But I don't quite recall where it was. They certainly were critical of his weird hairdo though among several other things.
Anyway he paid dearly for the Brawley fiasco. You would almost think shouting "wolf" and being shot down that way would tone him down a little. But following that he actually made a bid for President!! Futile though it was from day 1. The man knows no shame!! And now he's at it again having latched onto this Imus thing with a vengeance.. I found it interesting that he himself contacted all of Imus' sponsors and promoted cutting Imus loose to each one of them. Now I don't think what Imus did was right, but how Sharpton dealt with it is nothing short of an obsession!

I wouldn't call him a conspirator, at least not in the Brawley case. He's an opportunist like a hyena.

What I find real hard to grasp is why the general public lets this vulture get away with it.
I can (somewhat) understand blacks, he *seems* to be fighting for their cause so many of them fall for that. I have heard a good number of blacks here in the city who cannot stand the sight of him, though.
But whites? Anything in the name of PCness. It's unreal to what lengths they will go to conform to it.

Not quite, only nutjobs pay attention to what Aryan Nations preach. You have world leaders who meet with Sharpton, just look at all the pic you can find of Sharpton with the Clintons as an example. Sharpton promotes himself as the "voice of Black America", but really his agenda isn't black America, it's Al Sharpton and what can he do to improve the Sharpton brand. Think about this, how does a black kid from a welfare family become a multimillionaire?
I'll close this with a quote from Reverand Sharpton....
.“White folks was in caves while we was building empires... We taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it.”

I always liked the Jesse Peterson attitude that blacks don't need "black leaders", they need "leaders" and self respect. The problem with race leaders is that they say things like this....
The Jews don't like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that's a good name. Hitler was a very great man. Louis Farrakhan

I'll take "Bad Hair" for $200 Alex....
Sharpton is a buffoon and a caricature. Sadly, he gets attention with his attacks and tirades. In a rational world he would be ignored.

Al, Jesse and the rest of the self titled "leaders" are just that... full of themselves.. they could care less about anyone or anything... where are these "leaders" when a black gang member kills or rapes another black child?? What are they doing about inner city poverty?? NO WHERE AND NOTHING they create tension, in order to survive... they are ticks... they are leaches.. nothing more.. Louis F is just a man driven by hatred...who once called himself the Messiah.. he is also the man who probably thinks "Schindlers List" is the Feel good movie of the year!!
