Are we going to boycott gasoline? I doubt it. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could, but because it is a world market, someone else would just get more, I guess. They would just get it at a lower cost.

WOW! I'm glad I only have an 11 gallon tank. It took 3 1/4 gallons to fill it up.

What I don't understand is why in one county gas is $2.84 and go to the next county it is $2.95. Whats up with that?

There is no logical reason for the price we are paying at the pumps Sure there is, Bj; it's so logical it's ridiculous: WE KEEP ON BUYING IT!
why in one county gas is $2.84 and go to the next county it is $2.95 It could be that one of those counties is required to use reformulated gasoline, due to smog levels; or the higher-price county has a sales tax/fee, or it could be simple supply and demand.

gasoline isn't priced the same as other goods, most good the higher the demand the more things are made and the cost per item is less so they can charge less per product and still make a profit. Gas on the other hand the higher demand the higher the price. also depends on what does the company delivering the gas have to go through. example a gas station around the corner from me(I live just a few blocks from downtown) is 2.99 at one station and 3.04 at another. just a few miles away though wal-mart has gas at 2.86 or if you use their gift cards I get it for 2.83.

I filled my truck up last week, and conveniently the 2.95 per gallon was "out of order." I had no option but to pay the 3.15 per gallon. How convenient.

blondino... you forget that you are talking to the ugly americans who want it all...not going to google it..( size wise - freeways ect) but scotland is not america..I can go thru that 1/2 tank in about three hours driving time..When I was working and commuting, I could put over 40,000 miles a year on my vehicle..and for some of us..that is still the norm..
so..how bout it..what do you all drive a year on average in scotland?..The aveage miles driven (last I checked) was around 12,000 miles a year here in the states.. for me right now ..I drive about 4,000 miles a year
lucky??? it is all relative....

Troubles in Nigeria
As I also posted on another thread, domestic unreast in Nigeria, Africa's largest oil producer is also contributing to increases in the price of oil. It's not just problems in the Middle East.
