1. Party 2. Iraq war 3. Illegal immigrants 4. Spending money we don't have 5. Tax breaks 6. Abortion 7. Gay rights 8. Separation of church and state 9. Rights 10. Trade 11. Polluting the planet Others?
What is the #1? #2? #3?
What stand does the next president have to take to get your vote.
For me,
#1 is ending the war in Iraq.
#2 is ending as much as possible the polluting of our planet.
#3 is ending globalization, which actually includes the trade agreements, the outsourcing of jobs, the war and illegal immigration. I think they are all part of the globablization agenda.
I haven't found one candidate that meets all the above. Kucinich meets more of them, than anyone else. He only fails in the immigration area.

Health care reform is important to me to, but if we don't end the war, we have no hopes of getting any sort of national health care program. The war is driving us billions of dollars more in debt every month it goes on.

I am A truly undiced voter
many of the factors bj metioned don't really matter in my every day life
I am studying Obama but don't know yet
my main factors are ..Tax Cuts ( how about abolishing the unconstitutional IRS) A new direction in the war ( I do not support a total pull out or end but a new direction) Bring dignity and integrity back to the White House ( havent had that in 20 years in my opinon) and the last thing is child support reform ...in my case i had a wife who cheated ...walked out and filed for divorce she still gets almost 50% of my paycheck ..how is that constitutional? for the first time in my life I have no clue who im voting for or which party at this point

I honestly don't think the war will be an issue by then. Bush agreed to the timelines, which would have it winding down by election time in 08. Here's mine, in no special order.
1. Repealing the "Patriot" Act.
2. Economic reform. (Which would fall under 4, 5, and 10, as well as welfare reform)
3. My own self interests. After all, if you don't care about yourself, no one else will.
4. Someone with a balanced budget willing to admit taxes have to be raised to pay for all this killing.

1. Getting us out of Iraq (I'm not convinced W will stick to the benchmarks)
2. Repealing the Patriot Act, especially those provisions suspending habeus corpus.
3. Health care reform and a renewed commitment to biomedical research.
4. True education reform instead of standardized tests and a zippy name.
5. An energy policy that invests in new technologies that will make us independent of Mideast oil.
6. Housing reform.
7. Voting reform.
8. Renew the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts and return the US to a leadership position on environmental issues.
9. Return the US to a country of laws versus a cult of personality.
10. Separation of church and state. It benefits both!

1. Stopping illegal immigration, opposing amnesty for illegals, enforcing and toughening laws to cause most illegals to self-deport, deporting the minority who don't leave on their own. Illegal immigration problem solved(FINALLY). 2. Resolving the Iraq war(also better pay and benefits for military personnel, especially those who go into harms way). 3. Repealing NAFTA(and opposing the NAFTA superhighway which includes the Trans Texas Corridor which most Texans oppose), CAFTA and opposing membership in WTO(preventing CODEX from coming to the U.S. which would severely limit access to vitamins and natural supplements) and opposing the plan for the North American Union.
Ron Paul supports all of these things. He is also a vietnam veteran.
His stances on military, benefits for veterans, the draft, etc. http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul142.html http://www.counterpunch.org/pauldraft.html http://www.antiwar.com/paul/?articleid=5451
His stance on illegal immigration: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/html/issue-Border_fx.html http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul314.html
His opposition to the North American Union plan, NAFTA, CAFTA and WTO: http://unalienablerights.us/blog/?p=339 [URL[http://www.infowars.com/articles/bush/impeach_bush_over_north_american_union_agenda_ron_paul.htm[/URL]
I don't agree with him on all the issues, but I would say out of all the candidates he is closer to where I stand on the issues than most of the other candidates.
Here is a video(with some really good music) of Ron Paul supporters(not affiliated with the official Ron Paul campaign and not recieving any money from them)on their quest to spread the word about Ron Paul because he gets so little airtime in the mainstream media compared to other candidates.

I liked the guy who was holding up two signs at the John McCain event, in one hand the sign said "Who's the REAL maverick?" and in the other hand the sign said "Ron Paul 2008".

1. Health care and it being cheaper and available to everyone.
2 Better work places.
3 Bring our jobs back here where they belong.
4. Stop trading with outside sources if we can supply the item ourselves with workers.
5. Stop the war.

For me,
#1. Tax cuts, I'm paying more in income tax than some people earn. That's stupid.
#2. Spending money we don't have. We have got to stop all these money wastig pork programs. Tax collections are at an all time record high, and the govt is still spending more than it takes in.
#3. Illegal immigration. I'm all for LEGAL immigration, but this flood of people over the border has got to stop,

AMEN
Personally, I'm voting voting for:
Vacant until 2012
Not one of them has shown the 180 degree change our country needs.

Pretty much All The Above
But with extra emphasis on
1) Stopping Illegal Immigration - Returning the USA to a reasonable state. 2) Locating and Capturing or Killing Osama Bin Laden, et al 3) Repealing the Tax Breaks primarily for the very wealthy 3) Repealing the Patriot Act and no more uncontrolled surveillance at will 4) Medical and Pharma Reform 5) Getting Out of Iraq 6) Focusing on dramatically improved International Relations

I would say, the one who is actually interested in OUR country, and not just looking good to the others. The one who is going to work to improve conditions in OUR country, not just in his own bank account. Guess I pretty much agree with MM.
But I just had to mention how humorous I found that mention of "poor" rich people and their tax burdens LOL

Choosing a president on such limited criteria is asinine. I would have to investigate/study each candidates platform in general.
