Something quite a number of people have had substantial concerns about for some time now!

October 31, 2007
Kucinich questions Bush's mental health

(CNN) — Strong words from Democratic presidential contender Dennis Kucinich may be nothing new, but his comments to a newspaper Tuesday questioning President Bush’s mental health are raising a few eyebrows.

“I seriously believe we have to start asking questions about his mental health," the Ohio congressman told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "There's something wrong. He does not seem to understand his words have real impact."

Kucinich's comments were in reference to the president's recent remarks on Iran, in which he suggested World War III could occur if the country obtained nuclear capabilities.

“I've told people that, if you're interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon," Bush said at a news conference earlier this month.

The Democratic presidential candidate later said he does not consider questioning the Bush's mental health inappropriate, according the Inquirer's Web site.

“You cannot be a President of the United States who's wanton in his expression of violence," Kucinich said. "There's a lot of people who need care. He might be one of them. If there isn't something wrong with him, then there's something wrong with us. This, to me, is a very serious question."

A Republican National Committee spokesman called the comments "absurd and irresponsible."

Absurd?? I'm not so sure!! Irresponsible? If it's true, and there have been indications which suggest that, it seems hardly irresponsible to address reality.

There are two kinds of serious mental illness.

Skizophrenia, typically means the subject doesn't fully understand the difference between right and wrong. Hence he/she is not responisble for their own actions.

Psychosis, means the subject probably understands the difference, but doesn't care, and has no guilt or remorse regarding the oucome of their actions, or their impact..

Anything there sound familiar?

It is an..."Antisocial Personality Disorder"..!! An antisocial behavior starting in childhood showing pervasive disregard for and violation of the rights, feelings and safety of others......continuing into teenage years and into adulthood!

also called: psychopathic personality disorder!!

That definition above is George Bush!!

I think it should have been questioned a long time ago.

Kucinich seems to be the only candidate that tells it like it is, without spin or avoidance.

Once again, I'm at a complete loss of ability to understand Bush. Anybody who got through their first year of college physics has the basic understanding, or "knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon." (Well, they SHOULD have anyway. I know what "critical mass" is.)

George should have someone read him, right-side-up, the book, "Mushroom: The Story of the A-Bomb Kid," about John Aristotle Phillips. When he was a junior at Princeton 25 years ago (pre-internet, no less!), Phillips designed a plutonium bomb the size of a basketball for his thesis.

I wonder if he tortured animals as a child.

Of the two categories, I would suggest he's NOT likely skizophrenic.

But I have yet to see even an inkling of caring, guilt or remorse, in any form.

Have you?

I think Kucinich may be onto something there. I posted about 6-8 weeks ago about a speech he was giving where he was talking so strangely and erratically, I was forced to shut him off. It was very disconcerting, as though he had lost his grip on reality.

A couple of years ago, psychoanalyst Justin Frank wrote a book about Bush called Bush on the Couch. It's still in bookstores -- has a red cover with a big question mark, Bush's face serving as the dot underneath the question mark.

Frank uses Melanie Klein's methods to analyze Bush. This is the same method used by the CIA, State, etc to analyze foreign leaders. He came up with quite a few interesting points. One, that Bush suffered/suffers from fetal alcohol syndrome. Barbara Bush's own memoirs confirm she drank single malt throughout her pregnancy, but back them women were not forbidden from smoking and drinking. Frank also talks about the impact of the death of his sister Robin. That caring for a sick child (while never telling her brother she was sick, just forbidding him from playing with her) made Barbara and George both emotionally and sometimes physicially distant from their son.

Here's a link. It's a very interesting read.

And, I actually know John Phillips. Very interesting guy. His book is very good especially when he gets a visit from the FBI after publishing his thesis.

Actually, this has been going on for quite sometime. Republicans questioned Howard Dean's mental fitness after the Iowa caucuses, Ed Muskie during Nixon's dirty tricks campaign, Tom Eagleton for getting treatment for depression, and just this week the Republicans in Washington State went after the head of the state dems and a book about Gerald Ford had comments about Clinton's mental health. The list goes on and on.

So, let's take a poll and figure this thing out..

Is GWB losing it, as in slipping over the proverbial edge, or what?

[ A ] Yay! He definitely deserves intense professional observation at the very least!

[ B ] Nay! He's A-Ok in my book, well in touch, and he's one smart cookie!

[ C ] Not sure! It's too soon to tell!

[ D ] I'd rather not say, or I don't really have an opinion.

Yet another example of the pot, calling the kettle black. Kucinich is about two sandwiches short of a picnic. I'm not so certain, that a vegan, who sees UFO's and who communicates with space aliens is the best judge of mental stability.

Kucinich sees UFO, new book claims

Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich has seen a UFO, writes Shirley MacLaine in her new book, "Sage-Ing While Age-Ing."

Kucinich, she writes on page143-144 of the book, "had a close sighting over my home in Graham, Washington, when I lived there. Dennis found his encounter extremely moving. The smell of roses drew him out to my balcony where, when he looked up, he saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him. It hovered, soundless, for ten minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend. He said he felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind."

Representatives of Kucinich's presidential campaign and congressional office have not responded to calls and e-mail asking whether the Cleveland Democratic congressman in fact saw a UFO or if there is another explanation for MacLaine's recollection.

MacLaine is a well-known believer of UFOs and reincarnation. And she's been close to Kucinich for decades. MacLaine is the godmother of Kucinich's daughter and attended Kucinich's 2005 Cleveland wedding to third wife, Elizabeth, who's often campaigning by his side.

MacLaine also recommended in the 1980s that Kucinich visit New Mexico spiritual adviser Chris Griscom, whom MacLaine featured in her then-best-selling book, "Dancing in the Light," describing how Griscom helped her communicate with trees. (Kucinich has insisted that Griscom was not his spiritual adviser but a "teacher and a very good friend.")

When asked about the above statement in a recent debate, he replied

Kucinich: 'I did' see a UFO
by Mark Silva

Rep. Dennis Kucinch of Ohio was asked this during a debate of the Democratic candidates for president tonight: Has he ever seen a UFO?

"The godmother of your daughter, Shirley MacLaine, writes in her new book that you've sighted a UFO over her home in Washington state,'' the questioner asked, "that you found the encounter extremely moving, that it was a triangular craft silent and hovering, that you felt a connection to your heart and heard direction in your mind.

"Now,'' Kucininch was asked, "did you see a UFO?'''

"I did,'' Kucinich said.

"And the rest of the account -- I didn't -- I -- it was unidentified flying object, okay. It's like -- it's unidentified. I saw something.

Then there is his introduction of legislation, to ban the government from using mind control weapons in space.

A proposal made in 2001 by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) to ban "psychotronic weapons" (another common term for mind-control technology) was hailed by TIs as a great step forward. But the bill was widely derided by bloggers and columnists and quickly dropped.

Doug Gordon, Kucinich's spokesman, would not discuss mind control other than to say the proposal was part of broader legislation outlawing weapons in space. The bill was later reintroduced, minus the mind control.

Washington Post Story

Yep, he should be an expert on mental stability.

If someone has seen a UFO, it's far more admirable to step up to the plate and actually admit it, than it is to lie, or to be worried about potential public backlash. I admire Kucinich's candor and honesty.

Does anyone actually still believe there are no other intelligent beings in the Universe, that the entire Solar System merely revolves around the human race here on little-bitty Earth, with no chance of UFOs? Please!

I seriously doubt you will find very many who still think that way, in this era.

In a news report about Kucinich's statement, someone cited an unattributed poll that says 65+% of Americans "believe in UFOs." (Actually, I hate that kind of phrasing. A UFO is just that, an unidentified flying object. I don't know how you can realistically state you don't "believe" in unidentified objects in the air. It's a stupid way to phrase it.) I've seen several objects in the sky I couldn't personally identify, and some that were identified only after finding out more information. I've yet to see anything I was convinced was of extraterrestial origin, but I'm not about to belittle someone who says they did see something.

Being a vegan is a choice I may not agree with for myself, but it certainly doesn't make him mentally unbalanced. It probably does indicates a deeper concern for his own health than abusing drugs and alcohol as the current President did (does?).

Overall, I question Shrub's mental stability less than I question his general intelligence. .

Edited to add: By the way, MM... put my mark in the "A" column.

I question both.

As to the UFO, the media changed what he said to all kinds of stuff, that he didn't say. They will do anything they can to try to discredit him. I heard the question and his answer. A UFO is simply that. It is not a "being" or necessarily from another world.

While I was out shopping I bought a tin foil hat, nifty lil thing even has an antennae and a wire that runs from the hat through your clothes (oh my) then to your rubber/ vinyl shoes... I guess this is to ground you incase you get stuck in a thunder storm, or perhaps its the Florida version as we are lightening capital of the US...

MM about king george, I'm thinking the A column and can I add a lobotomy be done upon his death just so we can finally wrap up the intelligence issue...
