Apparently, they had to turn some people away from an engagement put on by the Obama campaign today. That's another first in another state. But to be fair there was "standing room only" event by Hillary Clinton just before Obama. And Hillary is still ahead in the polls. Which some says is nothing short of miraculous given Obama's upset in Iowa.

I thought this is a good thread to put this on. As it seems to be very important now!
Census Bureau...."New Hampshire's population was 95 percent white in 2006; Iowa's population was 93 percent white, putting both states among the least diverse in the country. Source: Census Bureau....."
this information came from factcheck

I just saw a blog that implies Obama is a terrorist. How lame. Typically, these blogs selective delete comments so I won't bother pointing out how absurd the blogs is. Obama's support is across the board. He is a force of nature in politics. Yet, this blog suggest that he has to rely on liberal whites that are voting out of some sense of guilt, and college students that don't know better.

He pulled ahead of Hillary. And he's getting votes across all kinds of demographic lines. While on Hillary's side there's another questionable comment, people jumping ship, and panic in her campaign. Obama is also tracking well against Mc Cain in all the polls.
And on a side note:
I saw a "Hillary" sign next to an "Obama" sign on the side of the road today. The "Hillary" sign was leaning over about to fall down. While "Obama" was standing sturdy and strong. You know what I'm gonna say next right ?
ya gotta know...
Could this be a bad "sign" for Hillary...
try not to snort laugh

For the first time I actually heard a political 'talking head' predict that Obama would be the Democratic nominee. I will support who ever is the nominee. I just haven't decided if I will suppor the Democratic nominee or the Republican nominee. Just kiddin....I'm a Democrat all my political life. And thinking back, everything about me says I should support Obama. He represents just about everything I've been waiting all my life for in a candidate for President. Except for the fact that his constant reference to his Religion turns me off.
People keep comparing him to Kennedy. But John Kennedy ran on a platform of strict separation between church and state. I don't see Obama respecting that separation. From having participated in two political rallys in support of him, I see a upsurge in the popularity of certain faiths over others, denial of religious discrimination claims, and minority religions getting the short end of the stick. I don't think its going to be as bad as with Bush. I see it more as a subtle discrimination. Which, in a lot of ways, is worse than blantant acts of bigotry. It worries me a lot.

mr "o" I think you worry too much... If Mr "O" stated that he was in favor of separation.. he would loose votes from the very religious people who think the government needs to " find God"
but I am secure in the fact that the SCOTUS will stop anything that smacks of integrating religion into government..
what you need to worry about (imho) is the republican party promoting racism
(subtle or not..)
or if they play the religion card..( after all..( according to some republicans..)..he must be a muslim..even if he says that he is not... )

Me thinks not. Obama, in a lot of ways people might be unwilling to admit, represents the Democratic version of Bush when it comes to religion. I work with these people and so I know. Black Christians see him as sent by God. Its not in the sick way neo-con fundamentalist Christians saw Bush once, but its there. And again, its kind of scary how its hidden and not really talked about. BTW its Hillary Clinton's staff that has tripped over the race card issue, more than any Republican.

I to your first hand knowlege of his actual feelings on this topic..I personally only know what I read... but still stand behinf the SCOTUS to protect the constitution.. yes.. Hillary 's camp did trip on it..
but remember that the primaries were /are about them...
... the november election will be about Mr "O" (if indeed nominated) and probably McCain... and I do hope the race card is not played out..
even with this new revelation..I would still vote for Obama...if given this choice..

You made me laugh on that one with the comment. I didn't mean to imply I can read his mind. And he has come out in favor of separation of church and state. Still Democrats can be just a fanatical about religion as what some call neo-cons. I've seen it first hand. I've been harassed because of my beliefs.
Here is the thing. The civil rights movement and the are Christian faith inseparable. Without Christians there would have been no movement. I honor that and respect that. Discrimination based on race has been exposed for the sin that it is. By contrast, most people are ignorant that discrimination based on religion is still discrimination.
What the Obama Presidency means to a lot of african-americans is a triumph of the Christian way of life. Obama has proposed expanding organizations that are typically christian based. Its a great moment for them. Ya know, you are right though, maybe I'm just paranoid after so many years of neo-con fundmentalist dominating politics.

not so fast...he didn't steal words...he paraphrased an idea that has been put out before....and is now being accused of plagiarism... but the person who he supposedly robbed..is a very good friend of his who patted him on the back and said..great speech..
this only has to do with what style Hillary told her speech writers to write..and how Obama knew better and did not have his speech writers dummy down
It is called..."damage control"..if you cant attack the speech..attack the person giving it...
why is Hillary mimicking "a certain poster" here????

Its looking more and more like Obama is going to be the nominee. Uggggghhhh....He's not tested and the Republicans are going to have him for lunch. On the other hand.,,,Mc Cain has already started the attacks and its not definite yet that Hillary out of it. So it a pile on. It makes me wonder if the Republicans would rather have Hillary as the nominee, and what sort of skeletons she's hiding in the closet that will bring her down if she does.

I actually think you are playing advocate here..
the republicans..imho would rather have Obama to run against.. as Hillary's supporters will probably vote for McCain rather than Obama this november.. unless Obama can persuade them otherwise in the upcoming months..
where if Obama lost.. his people would still vote for Hillary....

Is America ready for a Black President? Considering what a melting pot America has always been, we should be ready not only for a Black president, but a woman, or an Asian-American, or Jewish-American....you name it.
It's really about time, dontcha think? Mo

I heard a lady yesterday talking about how Black men got the vote before women did. ( of course we realize they didn't really get many chamces to do that).
So, is this kinda like history repeating it's self?
