The news services and pollsters have been reporting that Mitt Romney, the first clip-art presidential candidate (yep, I stole that line), is surging in Iowa. But today, he received a helping hand from of all people, frontrunner Mike Huckabee.
Today, Huckabee called a press conference to unveil a new commercial. At the end of the viewing, Huckabee announced he would not go through with the commercial, because it was too negative. Unfortunately for Huckabee, the press corps saw through the ruse. Huckabee screened the commercial for the press, so it would be reported and then made the annoucement. No one bought it.
Here's a link to the story from the wire services. Man the Peter Principle is a real bitch!

The word Hypocrisy should have been underlined in the article.
That was a real faux pas on the HuckSter's part, and I predict he will pay dearly for it. It disclosed just the level of dishonesty within him, that he has accused Romney of having, again and again, including on last Sunday's Meet the Press. . Funny how the old circle comes back around to bite you sometimes. Even with preachers!
I suspect that's a miscalculation he made, which he should have given a lot more thought.. His attempt at manipulating comes through loud and clear. Sometimes I actually wonder how smart he, himself, really is. He does do and say some pretty dumb things. This may turn out to be the Howard Dean event of 2007.

In no way am I defending huckleberry hound, but don't just about all these candidates make major league blunders from time to time? Somehow political pundits and the press seem to give us the idea that the only good politician is one who never changes his or her mind about anything, prays to GOD almighty about every decision, is married with 2.6 children, has a wife with perfect teeth and no tits. Personally I don't care for either of the two, but I'm certainly not going to decide on whether one or the other makes a miscue during a totally overwhelming political race that the vast majority of Americans would find themselves in the nuthouse if they ran in one, yet we expect Mr and Mrs Utter Perfect? Now, suppose Hillary gets elected... If ol Bill keeps up on his womanizing ways will people expect her to divorce the bastard immediately? Can a first husband pardon himself from a divorce? That's the bigger question in the whole debate isn't it? Hell, who cares really?

Well, since he is so pro-Illegal-Alien, and wants them all to get amnesty and free college educations, on the backs of already-struggling American Tax Payers, and over and above American kids, all as a reward for merely breaking our immigration laws, thumbing their collective noses, and hopping the border in the dark of night, I'd have to take a different position on that one...
First, I would take Ron Paul, second Duncan Hunter, and third, Mitt Romney. I consider Giulani, the HuckSter and McCain to all 3 be at the absolute bottom of the Repub list. Plus Huckabee has no international experience at all, didn't even know where Pakistan was, among other, similar astonishing thiings which escape me at the moment, and doesn't strike me as terribly smart. (and we know where the latter has gotten us over the past 7 years).

Sorry for the confusion. I meant he had the best shot of any republican to get elected. By no means do I support that hateful lunatic. Romney's losing gorund at a record pace, and no one else ever really had any ground to lose.

Ohhhh! Hmmm.. I've been hearing the HuckSter is losing ground, that he may have just been a flash in the pan, and that he was losing market share rapidly, even before he had this most recent revelation about how he would manipulate the Iowan masses with this latest act of pure foolishness..
Not so?

In no way am I defending huckleberry hound, but don't just about all these candidates make major league blunders from time to time? Yes, they all make blunders. Huckabee's comments earlier this week, when he couldn't seem to find Pakistan on a map, I would file under blunder.
This wasn't a blunder. This was a calculated bad act that blew up in his face. He thought, stupidly, he would be hailed the hero for pulling the ad, while at the same time getting free air time on the evening news for the ad.

It's called "Having your cake for free, and eating it too"...
Wide-spread negative attack ads on Romney, with a pricetag of $0,000,000.00. And he comes out of it smelling like a rose! Hard to beat that if he could get it. Pretty sneaky stuff on the ole HuckSter's part.
Only he underestimated the deductive capacity of those he was dealing with, who weren't exactly stupid, and saw right through his little deceptive charade.

I'm sure it's not his fault. I'm sure the liberal media are to blame. Either that, or those vile bastards at the weather channel.

You know what they say, MM:
When it rains, it is clearly the Weather Channel's fault, damn liberal media.
Or something to that effect.

As strange as it may sound, I do agree with something all of the republican candidates have said.
You shouldn't trust the other republican candidates.

Absolutely!
Never trust a meteorologist! Have you noticed how shifty they are??!
They are up to something. It's often hard to say what though, because they are so good at misleading us to begin with!
The HuckSter probably has a number of them on his payroll.

WTF? I just do not get Huckleberry. For many reasons, but seriously, if you were not going to show the ad, why the hell did you make a statement about it like you're so high and mighty...and then SHOW THE AD??? WTF?!?!?!
