Rightfully so! This is what he said the night of the NH Primary/
"Let's not forget, and I'll be brutal, the reason she's a U.S. senator, the reason she's a candidate for president, the reason she may be a frontrunner, is that her husband messed around," he said.
Bam! That quote raced around the Internet and unleashed a fresh round of anger toward Matthews at a time emotions were already frayed.
I can only imagine of Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity said this. Yet Matthews gets a pass.

Actually, she's a Senator not because her husband messed around, but because knuckleheaded neo-con idiots kept focusing on a private matter between adults while ignoring impeachable offenses that could have led to a conviction.
The dumbasses you voted for, iam, are the reason this criminal is in office, and may possibly even get back into the White House.

BUT if she had been convicted of her numerous criminal acts, she wouldn't be a Senator now.
And if the Republicans in Congress had "stayed the course," she would have been convicted.
So it's the fault of the Republicans that she's still in politics.

Let me get this straight --
Billary is a Dem Senator -
Now she is running for POTUS as a Dem
and - one of our  posters is reporting this -
So it's the fault of the Republicans that she's still in politics.
Is it Bush's fault? Or all of the Republicans?
I think I am going to have to smoke dope for a few weeks to understand this one!

Nope. It was the Republicans of the 90s, not most of the current crop.
They were Peeping Toms, getting cheap thrills off of hearing about someone else getting some action. They let themselves get distracted from the REAL issues that could have left the Clintons rotting in prison.

There were several criminal acts done by the Clintons while in the Arkansas governor's mansion. Undoubtably, many of them hadn't had their statute of limitations apply.
In any event, just looking at the crimes committed while in the White House, being shown to be an accessory to selling state secrets would hardly have helped her political career.
But all those investigations were sidetracked with finding out the details of a cum stain on a dress...

I got a question: how does a Dem from Arkansas end up getting elected Senator from New York?
Doesn't one have to be a resident of the state from which she is to be elected for a set period? IRCC the last address Mrs. Clinton had prior to being elected to the Senate was Pennsylvania Ave, Washington, D.C.?
Seems like that it was the Na Yawka's fault that she got elected to the Senate in the first place.
Now down he'ya in Alabama, we elect only home grown sons to the Senate like my late mother's friend Richard Shelby and Jeff Session!

And the whole perverted "investigation" by the Republicans garnered her a great deal of sympathy.
Nope. It's the people you elected who screwed up and gave her the power base to win office. She's the Senator from New York, but it took a lot of undecided voters to get her there. If she had been less sympathetic, if the Republicans had just spent more time going over the Clintons' crimes against national security instead of a private matter between adults, maybe someone else would have taken the Senate seat.
Sorry, the Republicans screwed up first.

Look - DC had no problem reelecting Marion (bitch made me do it) Barry 3 times after he was convicted.
Jefferson in LA was also made a Saint by the Dems!
There is something about the underdog thing that enamors Dems to criminals.
Back to the topic.
The fact that she was never charged had nothing to do with Republicans. Can we at least assume that Dems and Republicans alike are interested in our national security?

The Republicans had the best chance to stop the juggernaut about 12 years ago. They blew it (pardon the pun...). They even had enough valid causes to get Clinton out of office, and they sucked (pardon the pun...). It was quite a stain on the Republican record (pardon the pun...).
It was a bunch of old guys that were jealous that Clinton was getting some and they weren't. They fixated on the wrong issues.

You are the one who said this was off topic, after your lack of knowledge in the issue was discovered. Then after saying it is off topic, you want the question answered. Which is it? You go off topic to bash dems, then when proven you don't know what you're talking about, suddenly you want to go back on topic.
As far as Matthews statement, I think he's proven what he is. An inflammatory Rush wannabe. Desperately seeking attention and willing to say anything to get it. I trust his statements as much as you trust CNN.
When you disagree with what they say that is.
And S blankey guy, you're wrong. The guy most concerned about the affair (Newt) was getting some on the side as well.
