Once the baby is born, the neo-cons do everything in their power to disadvantage as many children as possible. Now that is so true and it's something I've pondered for so long. They abhor the whole horrid abortion issue yet they deny this same portion of the population the same equal rights to health care, parental attention, etc. Go figure...then again, let's not... If aborted fetuses are such a hot commodity, let's see how many are claimed for adoption.

There's something on the order of one million fetuses aborted every year in the USA.
There's hundreds of thousands of children in orphanages and foster homes.
Somehow, I don't see how overloading an already strained social support network is a solution...

Yeah, they are. It's horriblus times such as these when we rise above our animal inclinations and project our vision of a more perfect society, rather than project our view of the world as it is.

the only problem is i live in the real world as it is not the one i would like for it to be .... to me that means senseless acts as the above 2 deserve to be judged and given retributive justice

And yet the United States is the only Western Liberal Democracy which has the death penalty. The rest of the Western world is content with simply putting people in jail for the rest of their natural life.

Once the baby is born, the neo-cons do everything in their power to disadvantage as many children as possible. Reminds me of Barney Frank's quip that for these folks "life begins at conception and ends at birth."

which is the target time when Liberals want to start the killing machine. And the neo-cons want to start at birth... Your point being?
At least the Liberals aren't patriarchal in their attitudes with regards to women.

Until that "fetus" can live outside its mother...you can not call that mass of cells a baby. It can't breath, eat, or survive without everything developed for it to do so!
You right-wingers can say what you want the baby is not a baby until it is a baby! And until it becomes a baby it is called a "fetus"!

And after it's born, the neo-cons who so lovingly cherished a lump of cells will then make every effort to be sure the baby doesn't receive healthcare, doesn't receive adequate education, ends up in foster care, goes into a life of crime, and dies young.
Because, you know, using an excuse to recreate a paternalist society is so much more important than a few minor details like a woman's ownership of her own body...

Indeed, bro. Which actually proves that all this "outrage" is not really about "babies" ( after all , if it were so, all those cons would be waiting in line to adopt every single one of them instead of instantly loosing interest towards "precious fetuses" the moment they are out of the womb) - but rather about CONTROL . Some just cannot stand the idea that there's things in this world which are not of their business - the other people's private parts and organs first and foremost. The story is as old as humanity itself - woman's miraculous ability to give life is praised and worshiped by all religions in the world ...as well as it has been always envied by those who saw this divine power as a "threat" and tried to "punish" women for possessing it, attempting to turn it into some kind of gender-based "public service". ( Which is first of all an insult to THEIR own Mothers. The glory of Motherhood is all about FREE choice - A GIFT, DONATION of her body to the future child of the man she LOVES. Trying to legalize any male's right to force any woman into bearing his offspring is a disgusting thing to even think about for any decent person , but that's what " pro-happy-life-for-rapists" agenda seems to be . Good grief, what kind of a society are we running here , horror movies are likley to seem like bedtime stories if cons ever have their way with those who is "unfortunate" to have vagina

Not entering your discussion as I've not read the entire thread .. just commenting that I prefer the term Anti-Choice to "Pro-Life" which seems to suggest Pro-Choice supporters (of which I am one) are "Anti-Life".

And I don't think ending abortion is strictly the endgame for many.
Some anti-choicers want abortion to go on forever, because it's a wedge issue they can use for fundraising and GOTV.
Others don't want only to eliminate abortion, but most forms of birth control. The new "human life" amendment under debate in Florida would also end the availability of birth control pills, depo provera shots, IUDs, etc. It would clearly be in violation of Griswold v. Connecticut, but in the time it took for the law to be declared unconstitutional, who knows how many unplanned pregnancies would occur in Florida.

There is always the pill from France that can be used because of incest, rape or health reasons that women can buy to abort early on without any invasive procedure.
The Supreme Court should just butt out of the abortion issue because invasive procedures will become a thing of the past except when a woman carries a fetus too long.

That's a very valid point GypsySoul, and I certainly agree with you. The term "Pro-Life" is something of a distortion of reality, with negative implications.
Glad you mentioned that..

which is the target time when Liberals want to start the killing machine You are a good one to talk since it is YOU that has advocated killing over and over again in this forum. You seem to feel like we are supposed to kill everyone in every country, that disagrees with us about anything.
Where is this killing machine you are talking about, if it isn't the defense companies?
You love war and killing, but you claim you are "pro life". Give us a break. You just want to control women, just like you want to control what the rest of the world does.
I have seen NO indication that you care at all about human life or rights. None at all.....................
