DiamondRain.....Our public school system has let you down! You do not have a clue as to Biology, Science or anything that pertains to human life! That is quite evident by your ignorant remarks!

Or you would have never made the remarks you just made to the other poster! You have now shown everyone just how intelligent you are. On a scale of 1-10...10 being the most intelligent...you just scored a negative -0, zero!!

DR...said this...."you have discovered a new scientific breakthrough that proves that a baby in the womb has no awareness of its life nor desire to preserve it?

Or is it that you had a personal conversation with every child that was about to be aborted and can assure us that they all wish to die?....".....!!!

I see SunBabe ... you have discovered a new scientific breakthrough that proves that a baby in the womb has no awareness of its life nor desire to preserve it?

Or is it that you had a personal conversation with every child that was about to be aborted and can assure us that they all wish to die?

Taking illogic and ASSumption lessons from Baltimore these days?

No, I have no "proof" nor do I care. In MY opinion and in MY body, a fetus is NOT a "baby" until it can exist outside the womb. If your mind (and body) says something else, than that's YOUR opinion.

It's MY right to do as I choose with the body I've been issued and maintained. If my parents had chosen to abort me, I don't think I'd have known (or cared).

I try to stay away from this topic for the most part, because my views on the subject are admittedly biased. I will never have children, and it bothers me to see someone throw away the life of a child before it has a chance to become one.

As far as what this has to do with politics, one side wants to kill babies in our country, the other side wants to kill them in someone else's.

Sorry SunBabe, but you are changing the subject. I am going to take you to task on your previous comment since you chose to personally insult me. See if you are able to follow this.

LGQ stated that a person on life support should be allowed to die if they choose to and used that as an analogy to support the abortion of a child in the womb.

I replied by inquiring as to whether LGQ knows that a child in the womb wants to be killed. If she does not know that, then her analogy fails because it relies on the one being killed giving consent to their own death.

You said of my comment:

How stupid. Fetuses THINK now?

The question was not stupid, but quite logical and meaningful in response to LGQ's comment.

You can change the subject to something about your own body, but you cannot get away with calling my comments stupid without a challenge.

You're not grasping it either duckie.

If you don't have any proof that children in the womb consent to their own death, then you may not logically use the assumption that they do as part of your argument.

It is an accurate logical position that I used in precisely the right way.

Face it, DR, you can't prove they don't consent! Since you can't your argument is "MOOT"!

That is again a misinterpretation, but I learned long ago to defer to your learned mind when it comes to matters of logic.

DR:
An adult on a breathing apparatus cannot breathe on their own. Should someone have a right to kill them?

LGQ:
If they want to be killed.

God knows I'd want to be.

DR:
Yes LGQ, but do you know that the baby wants to be killed?

I'm still trying to figure out the logic of the above exchange. "If an adult can't exist... How do you know the baby wants.." ???

Medical professionals and people with determining power (next of kin) for people who cannot make their own informed decisions have life support discontinued regularly. A fetus which cannot makes an informed decision and cannot exist without the life support system of the womb has decisions made for it. I'm neither for or against which decision is made, but I am for the people and medical professionals directly involved being able to make that decision and everyone not directly involved staying out of the process.

Nightowl001....I am not for abortion! But, I am for a womans right to choose! IT IS HER BODY!

Therefore, I have no say whatsoever in her decision!

Until such time as the anti-choice crowd cares more than a whit about babies that have already been born, they have no right to claim they care about fetuses.

We have hundreds of thousands of children in foster care and orphanages in America. Why aren't they adopted? For the same reason we have lots of dogs and cats in animal shelters: people want the cute babies, not the ones that have a few dings and scuffs.

So the kids who are a little too old, or the wrong racial background, or aren't cute enough or smart enough, or whatever, are left to rot in the system.

And the anti-choice crowd wants to make sure the market is even more glutted?

Me? I say put everyone on implanted birth control. If someone can show that they want a child, takes a class on parenting, has a social network to support the, and can pass a psych evaluation, THEN I say let them have the birth control removed...

If they caught me on the right day... well, okay, actually, they would have to catch me on the wrong day for me not to think this isn't that bad an idea.

S blankey guy-

I can speak from experience, as my sister is trying to adopt. The entire system for adoption is a joke. It's harder to adopt a child than it is to sell heroine in this country.

@ Kjac: Is she going for a baby? Or any child? Because it's been my understanding that, once a child reaches around 5, their chances of being adopted plummet. And children in their early teens, might as well give up...

I have a coworker who has adopted at least four children. And two of my siblings were adopted, as well. Anecdotal evidence, I know, but it's not impossible.
