At this moment, who do you think could step up to the base and take over running this country?

Who would you trust?

I would trust John McCain.

The man with the best/most experience to actually run the company has the least chance and it is a shame: Duncan Hunter

Oh my.. You want Bush back in office for another 4 Katts? You want more massive Illegal Immigration and amnesty in America for "all God's children"? You want to remain in Iraq and at war for decades and more? You want a president that folds under pressure? You want someone who changes his faith to appeal to a certain electoral populace.

He certainly is one of the very best choices for the job.. It is a real shame he has no chance at it. That points out a lot that's wrong with the existing electoral system.

While I disagree with McCain on several issues, he is the candidate that I most trust. Yes, he agrees with the dems on immigration, but he is also the one that I believe to be the best of what is a very poor field, from which to choose.

As it is, if all of the current candidates were on the ballot, McCain would likely get my vote.

Dennis Kucinich.

However there is NO chance that will happen.

You know what? In my opinion, it doesn't matter who WE think can run the country best. The corporate structure is going to make sure the candidates THEY want up there, are going to be the ones we get choose from.

Sad but true.

I concur.. but... how many here are active and interested in who they vote for in their own back yards...

remember that the pres is only one third of the equation..

and really, the pres has no power except what he is allowed to have.. ( ..and the veto which can be overriden...)

so..does the pres really run the country??....

A person's ideology, integrity and ideas all come into play obviously. More importantly however, how good of a manager are they and how good are they at selecting their lieutenants? Those are the one's that will ultimately get things done for the general (and ultimately, us).

Who is that person that has the skills to hire the right people for their jobs?

Say all of the evil/vile things that you care to about our current president, his single largest problem was that he didn't select his lietenants very well. Some he did real good at and other selections couldn't have been worse.

We need a strong manager!

A lot of course depends on the balance of Congress, as to whether or not they have the power to override presidential vetoes. If balanced in his favor, a president has enormous power.

Right now the situation is awkward, because neither side has complete power to prevail, which is also good in some ways. (i.e. he did not get his amnesty bill passed). But the president has more power than Congress. And of course this president is very inclined to act on his own, outside the bounds of prevailing laws, or the dictations of Congress, believing executive privilege trumps all else..

Sorry, lass, but I wouldn't trust McCain to clean my catbox.

I'd trust my pastor, though.

After he wins the election I guess we'll have to once again put up with all the whiners that didnt give us a better option for four years, but thats usually the case with the defeated.

McCain already admitted he blew his chance at the White House when he started pandering to the current administration. A lap dog shouldn't run a country.

The man I'd trust dropped out of the race and is now tending to his wife, who just had a car accident.

But I may vote for McCain if he gets the nomination.

At this moment,
I think a grade school kid could do a better job,
basing all his decisions on the flip of a coin...
and every time the coin fails to land,
do what the people want...

As if Hillary would not bring her co-president back to the White House?

I would trust John McCain.

I guess I would too, until I remembered the Keating five, and the S&L bailouts.

I guess I go back to where I was...I just don't trust any politician. That's why I'm so big on checks and balances. Anyone who asks me to trust them to know what's best for me makes my skin crawl. I don't even know who I'll vote for on Feb 5th, let alone in November.

~sigh~ I sure wish I didn't feel this way...
