I saw his inspired speech today, where he said All the Dems want to raise taxes, and even one of the Repub candidates do as well!! Shocking! He said they all guarantee they will raise taxes! Huh?? We sure don't want that!! ( Applause  ). But he (Rudy) wouldn't let that happen to us! Whew!!!  Had me worried there for a minute!
So once again, he will be our savior. Just like on 9/11. Isn't it wonderful to know Rudy is there for us?
What he is talking about, (which he wasn't too anxious to mention), but as he later describes, is the move afoot to repeal the Bush Tax Cuts which heavily favor the very rich.. That's the "Raising Taxes" he was referring to. And just about everybody besides the very rich, (and even quite a few of the very rich), want them repealed, because they are ABSURD, IMBALANCED, UNFAIR and UNAMERICAN!! But Rudy will save us all from that happening.  Go Rudy Go!!
Rudy, unfortunately for you, I think you are barking up the wrong tree there bud.. That theme is not likely to earn you a lot of votes among the middle class.. People aren't quite as dumb as you seem to think they are.
This guy once ran a city, right?

I am hoping that someone, some time between now and September or so, will generate believable charts and estimates and numbers that show exactly what the actual effects will be of all the candidates' proposed economic packages, allowing an informed electorate to head out in November.
Then again, I hope I win the lottery too.

I know off topic....
But, after the posting of votes in South Carolina I saw Thompson come on stage talking about how his voters had not gotten there yet....anyway...he was saying how the "conservatives" had made this country and were going to lead it into greener pastures!
Unless someone can show me different the only conservatives, back when our country formed itself, were moving as fast as they could to Canada! Those men,that made this country, were moderate to liberal men of great stature!

I have a feeling Message #1 wasn't very clear about what the point really was..  
Bottom line is that ole slick-Rudy is trying to be extra-slick, and pull the wool over folks eyes, telling them half-truths and spinning it around so it seems like something it's not. He's trying to rally people around who don't agree with the Bush tax cuts (Most of us) to feel like they actually DO agree with Bush and to get folks to support making those tax cuts permanent. And, he wants us all to believe, in this way, he is coming to our rescue, just like he did on 9/11.
Rudy wants to keep the tax cuts, because no doubt he fits into that top eschelon income and makes out like a bandit (unlike you and me). He wants everybody to elect him on his platform of not wanting to raise taxes. When we all know that isn't really the gist of it at all. But somebody needs to tell Rudy folks can see right through all the slanted rhetoric. I'm sure he doesn't realize that. As such, he's not winning friends or influencing people, by pursuing that train of thought.
I think anyone who saw the speech probably knows what I mean. Fundamentally he was makng a horrible and transparent attempt at mass maniulatlion. But trut' be known, he's really not that good at being slick..

I heard a snippet of a Giuliani speech today as to why he's left everything to Florida. The answer: because Florida is a microcosm of the rest of the country and because it decided the 2000 election.

Eastham, the real answer is that more than likely he didn't expect to win a state before, or after, Florida. Even he knows he's quite unelectable, even within his own party.

If he doesn't win Florida, he is done.
There are always a lot of people that still fall for the spin and lies. Thats the sad part MM.
I don't think he's going to win down here, but the republican race is going very strange, isn't it? It seems that someone different is winning in each state.

While it's true that many candidates are prone to 'bend the truth' to varying degrees, and sometimes even lying, when they feel the need, it's quite troubling to see that taken to brand new lows in deliberate deception.
I believe that's exactly what our man Rudy is doing, setting all new lows in blantent, self-serving dishonesty.
Where have all the scruples gone, the last several years??
