Tax Rebates: Thank Me Here |

Even though I worked about 70 hours a week last year, I won't be getting a tax rebate because I was too successful.
That is my reward for contributing so much of my hard earned knowledge and effort to keeping the economy strong and paying such a large share of the taxes everyone else enjoyed so much.
Instead of getting a "rebate" of some of the outrageous gouge that I had to pay, it is being given to you instead.
So I thought I would post this in order to give you an opportunity to thank me for giving it to you since I am sure you have been wondering how you would be able to do that.
But then I realized: I had no say so in the decision to give you this money. If I had a say so, I wouldn't have given it to you. It was taken from me under threat of prosecution by the US government and handed out to you. It's that simple.
So, since I really don't want you to have the money in the first place, I suppose a "thank you" isn't really appropriate. It wasn't a voluntary gift.
But if the people who toiled to give you this windfall could humbly request just one small favor...
Is it possible that the US Treasury could at least put our names on each of the handouts so that when you get the confiscated money, you would at least know who gave it to you?
"This check courtesy of DR..."
Is that too much to ask?
PS: Why should I be angry that Washington politicians used my hard earned money to buy your vote in an election year?

Thank you DR!! Although I too will not make out particularly well on this thing.. It's actually a bit silly overall, and won't really solve anything anyway. But everybody likes a coupla bucks here and there.
I, for one, wrote my Congressional Representatives and suggested they propose handling this matter a different way.
But then I realized: I had no say so in the decision to give you this money. If I had a say so, I wouldn't have given it to you. It was taken from me under threat of prosecution by the US government and handed out to you. It's that simple. Well, had this not been the case though, I'm sure you would have found another way to distribute your funds throughout the land.. And that should not be overlooked.
So we still say "Thank You DR"!

I will, of course, expect all Democrats to be returning their unexpected windfall to the US treasury in a demonstration of solidarity around their conviction to put holding the line on deficit spending ahead of their own personal monetary gain.
You can just write "return to sender" on the envelope when you get the check.

If the "tax rebates" are anything like the last round of "rebates," they're just advances on the tax refunds coming next year.
Are they?

No SNG. They are not.
The rebates are a handout, period.
It's a straight redistribution of income from those of us who pay the taxes to you.
Consider yourself on welfare.
Oh, and for those of you who keep the checks and don't return them to the treasury...
Don't bother with any more whining about how the Republicans run up the deficit.
By keeping the check you prove that you only care about the deficit if you don't profit from it. .

Don't forget the Vets Lefty.. Their president usually does, unless he sees a way to trim their budget yet again, or charge them substantially more, for less, as he has all along...

It makes no difference about cashing that borrowed money check! Everyone knows they will be paying it back later with a whole lotta interest tacked to it!
You see we are 9 trillion dollars in debt...1.48 billion dollars a day...and that is more than 30,392.27 dollars of debt for each man, woman and child in this country!
So, ol'Georgie just borrowed this 160 billion and tacked it onto those trillions we owe from Iraq and Afghanistan!
Grab ah'little of this debt clock, DR!

The money won't add to the deficit unless you keep your check. The choice is YOURS.
You can return the check to the treasury, and show that you are consistent in your criticism of the deficit.
OR
You can keep your check and show that you are a greedy, fake, phony and fraud who doesn't mind adding to the deficit as long as you personally profit from it.

Alternatively, we can donate the money wherever we feel the government SHOULD be spending its money.
Hey, DR, just so you know, your tax dollars are going to support the ACLU.

Don't worry about it...
In the long run, you think successful people will just go along with ever higher taxes until they are something akin to slaves? You think they exist just for you to leech their blood to subsidize your lazy ass?
It doesn't happen that way...
When the parasites and leeches suck one drop too many from the host, the host finds a new home.
The people who drive the economy and give you your handouts and your jobs will either take their money elsewhere where the laws are not so punitive, or simply retire and shut down the company you work in.
Good luck with all your liberal platitudes when that happens.

Like I replied to your blog..... If and when I get a check, then I'll thank ya. But almost anybody knows, anything worked over 47 hours per week( hourly pay) goes straight to the government and just puts you in a higher tax bracket at the end of the year.... so who are ya working for? Not yourself I've done the 80 work week before, for over a year and I got absolutely no financial benefit from it, just over stressed. JMHO
edited to add.... and TOO successful? Now that;s a complaint I have never heard

The people who drive the economy and give you your handouts and your jobs will either take their money elsewhere where the laws are not so punitive, or simply retire and shut down the company you work in. Just so I'm clear on this: The maximum income tax rate is still 35%, right? They didn't jump it up to 75% or something while I was away at work, right?
From what I understand, pretty much every other liberal Western democracy has a higher tax rate. I guess you could live on your own island, but the commute would be tough. Or you could live in some third-world country...
Face it, no country is as friendly to the wealthy as the US. The constant whining of the well-to-do about the "persecution" they face grows wearisome.

I would safely bet the $600 rebate Ive got coming from the thousands Ive paid in taxes this year that my average of worked hours per week are higher.
