Here is a list of quotes about various subjects. Please view the list and then post your favorite. If you have others not from this source, then by all means please share that too. If you are personally a fountain of wisdom and an oracle of wonderful renoun and accomplishment, feel free to pontificate your own inspiring thoughts as guidance for others who revere you and reach out to touch the hem of your robe, each time you pass through a throng of your adoring public on your way to greatness.

May we toss alms to the poor peasants as we ride by in our horse-drawn carriage, and as they reach out in a desperate attempt to touch our robes and absorb some small portion of our infinite wisdom?

Read Each One Carefully and Think About It a Second or Two

1. I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.

2. No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.

3. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

4. A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

5. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them.

6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.

7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

8. Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.

9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

10. Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

11. There's always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.

12. Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

13. Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

REMEMBER: WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS FOR A REASON.

Here's a good'un.. I never realized he said this, OR thought this, for that matter..

The military don't start wars. Politicians start wars
William Westmoreland

(I guess everybody knows, he was the top General in Viet Nam for some years. Ultimately something less than revered, whether right or wrong).

How true it is though... Somebody tell this to GWB willya?

A politician needs the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, and next year. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn't happen.
Winston Churchill

On the fields of friendly strife are sown the seed that on other days and other fields will bear the fruits of victory. -General Douglas MacArthur

This is slightly misquoted; the actual phrase was conceived by General MacArthur when he was Superintendand of West Point, and it reads thus:

On these fields of friendly strife are sown the seeds that on other days and other fields will bear the fruits of victory. -General Douglas MacArthur

This phrase still adorns the athletic facilities at West Point; it was the General's belief that involvement in sports would help make better soldiers...and after every football season, I give a copy of it to each of my players.

Odd though, hat they didn't show ole Rudy Giuliani in his much-adored mesh stockings, flowery garb, spiked heels and wig..

The secret of success?

Seize the opportunities.

Avoid the pitfalls

And be home for dinner by 6 pm!

Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.

Para, I did not find your quotes inspiring, nor did I receive profound guidance.

Instead, what I found was a bunch of quotes regarding war. I find the title you gave them very strange.

A thought I like is:

If you always do what you've always done
You'll always get what you've always got.

Another one I kept near me for a long time was:

Do all you have promised to do and
Do not enroach on another person or their property.

If you follow the above, I believe it would encompass all the 10 commandments and probably fill the same role for most other religions.
