I got the biggest belly laugh of the 2008 presidential campaign so far last night watching a supposedly particularly well informed and intelligent sample of Democrats answer questions in a focus group.
The moderator was asking them various questions about the elections, what they thought about the candidates, etc.
So then the moderator asks which of them were voting for Obama.
Then he asked the Obama voters to name any accomplishment that Obama has had.
The first person said:
“Ummmm, ummmmm”
The next person said:
“Uhhhhhh, uhhhhhh,”
The next person was a young black woman who said:
“He’s a great oritator like Jesse Jackson.”
The next person is a young man who said:
“He gives great speeches.”
Then next person said:
“I’ll pass.”
Naturally, by the time they were done, not a single accomplishment that Barack Hussein Obama has achieved for this country, or that might have any bearing on his ability to be President or Commander in Chief of the military was named because there have been none. Yet these people are willing and anxious to vote for this man, a man they know NOTHING about.
I am not making this up!
GOD HELP OUR COUNTRY!

Speaking of the Constitution, have you noticed how the Clintons are trying to violate the spirit of the Twenty-second Amendment limiting a president to two terms?
Funny how their arrogance in assuming that anyone wants more of either of them much less a co-presidency seems to cover up this egregious violation of the spirit of the law in the eyes of their defenders.

Seriously, when I first heard about Obama, I thought he was a terrorist. Upon hearing more about him, I came to that conclusion that he is the antichrist...right or wrong...I don't know but that is what I feel.

It is a bit sad that much of his following is based on his skills as an orator, and he is good at it. But other than that, very little substance.
Hell, he hasn't had time to do much of anything but speak! 
Yes, he's head and shoulders above McCain, in my view.. But most of his appeal seems to be that he has intensely studied his rhetorical delivery ala MLK and JFK. (I don't see Jesse Jackson in him though). Yet it takes a lot more than that to run a country like this.
I feel signficant discomfort with him at this point too. Perhaps in 4 or 8 years after he's actually had a chance to accomplish something in government. And, after he's altered his determined stand on amnesty for illegals.. His background as an Immigration Attorney doubtless has a lot to with that.

what happens if he gets Nominated, and then loses the election...
especial if the election turns out like the 2000 election...
if he gets himself nominated, I'll vote for him...
I personally don't see that much difference between Obama and Clinton,
so six of one, Half Dozen of Another as far as I'm concerned...
( Obama is a better Orator )...
I probably just think to much...
as long as there's a new President in 2009 I'll be satisfied...
( sooner would be better )...

His speeches are for the most part, rehashed and blended 1960's.
...His accomplishments on his website are really stretched to the limit and worded very carefully, but still lead you to believe he did something he didn't. As my state Senator, he was worthless, unless making Chicago an Illegal Alien sanctuary city is a plus.

...And then again, McCain is considering Colin Powell, who I trust more than the other three together. He had more integrity than to stay with the Bush administration, or maybe he was just intelligent enough to abandon ship.

Maybe people want to have Obama in office because they are tired of all the ones that have done things. Too many things, they are tired of people that know how to work the system and use it, not to the advantage of the people, but for themselves and those they sell theirselves to for the highest price. Maybe his lack of accompliments is a good thing.. in a way?

FUNKY...I believe you are more RIGHT than you think! A local right wing nut asked this same question this morning. The first thing i thought of was people are voting for Obama, because he HASN'T been a part of the problem very long! HE just might be an actual change. I will have no problem voting for him.
