I just saw this and thought it might be of some interest here. It seems that yet another rat is leaving the sinking ship. Hillary has lost her campaign manager and her asst. campaign manager over the last few days. Now, it seems that she has lost the support of Bill's campaign manager too.
By PHILIP ELLIOTT, Associated Press Writer
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The man who served as national manager of former President Clinton's 1992 campaign plans to endorse Sen. Barack Obama, an aide to Obama said Wednesday.
Obama's campaign planned a 1 p.m. conference call Wednesday to announce the endorsement by David Wilhelm, who later became chairman of the Democratic National Committee, according to an aide who spoke on condition of anonymity because the announcement would be made public later in the day.
Wilhelm planned to tell reporters that Obama can build a coalition of Democrats, independents and Republicans needed to win the general election.
Wilhelm is a superdelegate who was previously uncommitted in the race. His endorsement helps Obama in the race for delegates, in which he pulled ahead after Tuesday's sweeps of primaries in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Clinton remains considerably ahead in superdelegates, which are party officials, elected officials and others who can vote however they choose at the nominating convention.
If the race for pledged delegates based on outcomes in caucuses and primaries across the country remains tight, superdelegates could decide the nomination.
Obama leads the delegate race with 1,224 to 1,198 to Clinton, according to the latest count by The Associated Press. Source

That's part of my concern about SuperDelegates!
The criteria for their selection seems to be pretty questionable at times.. And they are courted and influenced heavily by the media as well, holding enormous power in their hands to override the common vote. Here is a perfect example.
There's just something fundamentally wrong with that entire concept. Something that I believe needs to be fixed.

I expect the convention to be brokered and for the Clintonistas to pull some back-room retailing of delegates and to steal the nomination.
Obama and his supporters will be yesterday's news.
For instance, the National Democratic Party has banned the delegations from several states and that blows my mind, since it has been a cornerstone of our society that a private organization has no power to make a contract that is illegal and that a private organization that violates state or federal law can be enjoined from violating public policy. For those who never took contract law, the five elements of a legitimate contract are:
1. Competent parties 2. Consideration 3. Duration 4. a mutual meeting of the minds 5. and LAWFUL PURPOSE
In my opinion, the party is NOT superior to state or federal laws and any policy adopted by a private party that violates public law is a void policy on its face.
That would seat the denied delegations.
Anyone got any federal court decisions or federal laws that are on point and to the contrary? I want to see them.

para - She is dead meat. Tomorrows NYT will run an article that will quote her own staffs acknowledgment of her loss - It is almost mathematically impossible now!
From Drudge -
NYT THURSDAY: Clinton's advisers acknowledged it would be difficult to catch up in race for pledged delegates even if she succeeded in winning 3 states on which she is most pinning her hopes: Ohio and Texas in March and Pennsylvania in April. Dem party's rules would be decided obstacle in efforts to catch up to Obama before voting phase of nominating process ends later in spring... Developing.. .

Wilhelm was interviewed on MSNBC today..
Wow! That's a guy who sure shouldn't be a SuperDelegate! A very wimpy sort. Very plastic. Not the least bit impressive. Reminded me of a Used-Car-Salesman!
He was asked why he abandoned his loyalty to the Clintons, wasn't it kind of turncoat? He turned all red and stammered and stuttered and finally came up with some lame answer after a while, that made no sense.. You had to know he was sweating bullets!
He ended up looking really foolish.. Yet he has a lot of power there.

what Wilhelm did is pretty reasonable. Any rational human being, not politicians..you know, will take sides with him. He simply used his brain rather than listened to his heart. He def. realised something wrong with the clintons

Wilhelm is a major Loser! And it was entertaining to watch him hem and haw and stutter and fidget and sweat the way he was in the interview, when pressed for answers.. What a wimp!
The "Used Car Salesman" reference above, was flattery..
Why the Clintons ever provided a livelihood to someone like that in the first place, is a real mystery.. He must have worked 16 hours a day for free.
It was clear James Carville had no stomach for him.
