I had to chuckle out loud today when I saw Obama once again on the stump.. I hate to say this, but this guy, like his wife, really is full of himself. Seems the "Obama Phenomenon" is going to his head a little bit.
He said:
Hillary is accusing ME of all talk and no substance. (then of course he paused for a while). She says I give a very good speech, but she's the one who provides solutions, instead of just a lot of talk.
Well yes, I DO give a very good speech.. Is that my fault?
But I had substance too, not only as an attorney, but in Illinois government. I did three important things there. So you see, I can provide solutions too!
Next, I was expecting him to say "Don't hate me just because I'm beautiful".. But he never did..

On a little side note, in spite of a significant level of self-confidence, Obama seems to fear Clinton in certain ways.
One of them is obviously debates, where it's true he tends to not fare as well as she does, on spontaneously getting down to the nitty gritty.
She has been pressing for more debates on the issues affecting the country. He has repeatedly refused to agree to that, knowing he's much better on the stump by himself, with his own well-rehearsed rhetoric, than he is face to face responding to questions posed by others.
That alone says a lot.. Because presidential problems are often not well-rehearsed in advance. I don't believe I've ever seen Obama on the stump, responding to questions. Only speaking TO the audience..

I agree. It seems that Obama has no interest in debating Hillary prior to the Wisconsin primary (where he currently leads in the polls), but is in favor of later debates in Texas & Ohio, where he currently trails in the polls. Funny how that works.

Well, there are two debates remaining, that are long-since scheduled and can hardly be avoided. They are pretty much carved in stone.
But Clinton wants more face-to-face spontaneous exchanges, in the form of debates, where the candidates are reactionary to questions posed, rather than well-rehearsed, one-way "speeches".
Obama has repeatedly refused to accomodate that request. Clearly he wants to debate her as little as possible. And, he has never been much for questions.
For me, that's something of a red flag..

In fact, Illinois is the only state of the main 7 with Illegals, that refused to ask for Federal support... we, the locals are footing the total bill.
...But, the presidency has become a popularity contest of appearance; sounds about like the mentality of grade school.
...Maybe Elvis was reincarnated on his way through Memphis....

Obama afraid of debating Hillary? haha...come on guys, let's be realistic here. In the 18 debates had already, Obama did very well in each of them. I see no need for all these debates. Hillary camp is obviously angry, losing, frustrated and ready for ugly counter-productive attacks. This isn't what america is ready for. People need someone who's going to help them solve their problems.
This is the same old, cheap and dirty politics that we're accustomed to.
She asked for these many debates just to have some free TV ads since she was running outta cash. you and I know that better. Frankly, it's unnecessary to have a debate prior to every primary/caucus. Doesn't make any sense at all.
Look, the name Hillary Clinton is well-known all across the country. That's why she led in almost all the polls from the start. When people got to really know who was actually bearing that name, they rethought their support for her. It's clear and simple to figure that out.
Since super tuesday, Obama has gained 13 super-delegates, she's lost 3 of hers. Come on people, wake up!
On the other hand of the spectrum, Obama does extremely well on the campaign trail. Very few people knew this name - Barack in 2007. This is the only chance for americans to really get to know who Barack is.
People haven't gotten involved in politics in years. whites, blacks, asians, young and old, gay, straight, children for that matter, I mean everybody. what's going on? magic? NO. There is something extraordinarily magnetic about this guy - Barack. Obviously people are simply hungry for change and to a certain extent UNITY. It's time to turn the page and write a new chapter.
Listen up guys, clinton's not currently the underdog cos she's not potentially and outstandingly good for the job, not cos she's not experienced, smart, intelligent or whatever or not cos her camp. is incompetent. The reason is simple. The other candidate is just BETTER, period.

SG says:
...He was worthelss as an Illinois Senator, unless you are an Illegal alien and want to reside in Chicago. In fact, Illinois is the only state of the main 7 with Illegals, that refused to ask for Federal support... we, the locals are footing the total bill. Tennessee too is #4 in the country as it relates to volumes of Illegal Immigration. We too are footing the bill here, in a very big way. And as an offshoot of our prior sanctuary scenario, we have become the #1 Violent Crime State in the Union, with Memphis as the #1 Violent Crime City in the Union.
That's what Obama's (or McCain's) sanctuary policy brings to a State or locale.
However Obama wants no part of question/answer sessions, as long as he can keep up the well-rehearsed, visionary-like rhetoric, speaking of "Hope" and "Change", and not much else, without any accountability, or any questions from the public about the "How" part of it.
Debates are where that rhetoric falters, he must be more accountable, and he knows it very well. He's no fool. Hence he avoids such situations like the plague.. Wouldn't anyone? Under those circumstances?

The remaining schedule for debates, for the record. You can be sure if Obama has his way this will be the extent of it.. In fact he'd no doubt bail out of these, if only he could. He doesn't fare so well in debates where the exchange is two-way, and when questions are asked. He's much better as a well-reheased, scripted orator.
McCain would bail too if he could, I'm sure.. It's just not in his best interests to be paired off against Huckabee, who has a much better command of the English Language.

Yep, we haven't seen the likes of this since JFK. Even Bill C didn't generate this kind of, ahem, womanly "attention"....lol. To me I see nothing wrong with it. I just hope the White House staff (ooops, bad pun!...lol) hides the cigars when Obama gets to the oval orifice....I mean office.

MM - what do you want Obama to do? Take ebonics lessons and learn to speak like 50 cent? I'd like him to speak in his own normal style and language. Not to try to emulate JFK or MLK with the oratorial style and rhetoric, carefully designed for maximum psychological impact. And to knock off the "pause and effect" southern preacher methods of influence. He's not even from the South.
After a few hundred times, it gets very hard to listen to, when you know it isn't really him speaking.
Just be himself. And talk like he normally would. I don't think he needs any lessons to do that.

^^^^ what a statement!
Does Hillary use hers? btw, how many people often use their full names?
After a few hundred times, it gets very hard to listen to,
If A doesn't like B's ideas, then I think A should quit listening to B. The fact that A keeps on listening to B to the point that B gets hard to listen to, means A is interested in B's message, period.
