OBAMA/MCCAIN CANDIDACY

Obama may be inexperienced and haven't accomplished that much but this guy, I gotta tell ya, he's a magnet. I mean he's a political catalyst.

When it comes to Obama, hyperbole seems to be the rule, not the exception. His charms are hard to resist. Some of us, if not many, have not seen one quite like him in a very long long time.

Many experienced elected icons in this country, who have seen many come-and-go politicians over the past decades, have admitted that "Obama's camp. is not a campaign for the presidency of the united States. That it's a movement to change the world". Think of it guys, an overwhelming majority, not just americans, I mean worldwide, positively and obsessively absorb his idealistic message of hope and change.

I personally and fervently reject old politics. Yeah experience has a lot to play in this game but I'm sick and tired of Bush's policies, sick and tired of the same old folks playing the same game and expect a different outcome.

I strongly agree with Bill Clinton's campaign words when he was also running quote "There is the right kind of experience and the right kind of experience".

Mccain would have been the best candidate but he's with the wrong crowd. He's obsessed with Bush's failed policies, talks about a 50-, 100-year war in Iraq, supports Bush's tax cuts for the wealth esp. when our econmy is down. I mean there's a real reason not to get him elected.

I think we should yearn for a transformative figure who will lead us to possible peace, glory, unity and pride again.

How does Obama's or Mccain's candidacy sit with y'all?

Obama is using the style of rhetoric and the delivery he gleaned from intensive study of speeches by JFK and MLK. That's his entire claim to fame. His words, as with all politicians, come from his speech-writers who have taken some of them from other speeches by other people. He is not a worldly phenomenon, nor is he Superman. He is merely a man, just like everybody else. His wife even says he has stinky socks.

McCain and Obama are among the worst of the entire lot, on both sides. There are numerous individuals in both parties who would make much better presidents than either of them. The election has now been reduced to the lesser of two evils.

Yeah Obama is merely a man but with extraordinary abilities. so-called written and copied speeches from former political figures, not everybody can skilfully and effectively deliver them to the liking of the public.

The manner in which a politician presents something to the public matters a lot.

BTW, His eloquent message of hope and change has been absorbed and accepted by a large majority - dems, indeps and some disillusioned reps. This means they see something particularly worthwhile in this Obama guy, period.

McCain and Obama are among the worst of the entire lot, on both sides.

If Obama and McCain are the nominees respectively, then we have no choice but to pick the better evil, as you call them. That's why people vote.

Instead of critising them, at least we should give them a hand of applause for making it right up to this point.

The naysayers keep talking about his lack of experience but he (and his wife) did an incredible job of managing a huge campaign organization....much better that McCain and the Clinton machine....both of those were broke at one time and poor McCain made such bad choices he had to re-group and start over.....

I do agree with jimbo. How a candidate runs and manages their campaign tells us a lot about how they'll manage the white house. Obama has been consistently running a great camp.

no candidate runs and maintains their campaign.....that's what others are paid to do for them...the closest one to have even came close was Romney....reason it was his money that financed it but he still paid someone........

very little of any candidate is their own personality……they pay people to tell them what to wear, what haircut/color to get, what to say ,and how to say it…….it’s all a dog and pony show………

a manger is only as good as the people that work for him...it's not his ability that gets the job done.....it's who picks the workers ........

Clinton paid someone $4,000,000 to run her campaign.

Candidates do not run their campaigns.

wills - you are being naive. There are professionals that not only run campaigns - but in many cases influence politicians to seek greater office.

It is like a bidding war when there is a hot candidate and or a hot campaign consultant.

A campaign does not resemble a cabinet at all. First of all campaign staff does not require Congressional approval. Second a presidential campaign is dynamic and has to grow and adapt at moments notice.

There are many great books written about how this works.

Scumbags who could never run for any kind of public office often work on campaigns. The fact is, politics is the dirtiest game in America, and you've got to have a few cheaters on your side to win.

As much as I detest the Bush League, I have to admit, Karl Rove is a master of spin. But make no mistake, he'd get blasted if he tried to run himself.

wills - they tell them what to do and say and when to do and say it.

They arrange all media spending and they hire people to run their campaigns in each state. A Presidential Candidate is like a rock star.

Do you think that Obama writes his speeches?

Do you think he produces the commercials?

Political consultants make a fortune running a campaign.

So has American Idol...... Look how many vote every day...... Look at how many THINK they can sing... And make fools of themselves to try out for the show.... Many of these people think they voted for the right person, for the right reason..... Many only care about the show, and find politics boring, or too hard to understand. But ask them the rules for text voting?

.... anyone remember what happened to them?

...From the first of the month, we have 25 threads for Obama... I think we need a couple more threads started?
