Looks like the media has put their tongues in their mouth and jumped off of Obamas lap. Seems that the last few days have been tough on the Boy Wonder. 
Thanks to Saturday Night Live the media had to look in the mirror-
Shades of Dukakis - who had a 17 point lead over Bush after the conventions.

SAN ANTONIO It took many months and the mockery of "Saturday Night Live" to make it happen, but the lumbering beast that is the press corps finally roused itself from its slumber Monday and greeted Barack Obama with a menacing growl.
The day before primaries in Ohio and Texas that could effectively seal the Democratic presidential nomination for him, a smiling Obama strode out to a news conference at a veterans facility here. But the grin was quickly replaced by the surprised look of a man bitten by his own dog.
Reporters from the Associated Press and Reuters went after him for his false denial that a campaign aide had held a secret meeting with Canadian officials over Obama's trade policy. A trio of Chicago reporters pummeled him with questions about the corruption trial this week of a friend and supporter. The New York Post piled on with a question about him losing the Jewish vote.
Obama responded with the classic phrases of a politician in trouble. "That was the information that I had at the time. . . . Those charges are completely unrelated to me. . . . I have said that that was a mistake. . . . The fact pattern remains unchanged."
When those failed, Obama tried another approach. "We're running late," the candidate said, and then he disappeared behind a curtain.
Before he beat his hasty retreat, however, Obama found time to assign blame for the tough questions suddenly coming his way. "The Clinton campaign has been true to its word in employing a 'kitchen sink' strategy," he protested. "There are, what, three or four things a day?"
Spoken like a man who had just been hit on the head with a heavy piece of porcelain.

Angry Barack Obama bombarded by media

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - An exasperated Barack Obama scurried away Monday from the toughest news conference of his campaign, telling reporters who kept shouting questions that he'd spent enough time on the grill.
"Come on! I just answered, like, eight questions," Obama, looking surprised, told shouting reporters as he fled the room. "We're running late."
The Clinton campaign has long complained that Obama gets soft treatment from the press corps. But Monday's exchange was no pillow fight.
The first question was about a private talk an Obama economic adviser had with a Canadian official - reportedly saying that the harshness of Obama's criticisms of the North American Free Trade Agreement was for political show.
Last week, Obama denied an initial media report about the conversation. But after a Canadian government memo surfaced, he acknowledged yesterday there was a conversation.
"When I gave you that information, that was the information that I had at the time," he said. His camp still disputes the memo's account of the discussion.
The questioning then turned to Obama's links to ex-fund-raiser Tony Rezko, who went on trial in Chicago Monday on corruption charges. A reporter asserted Obama hadn't fully answered journalists' questions on Rezko.
Obama insisted he had - during a past news conference with Chicago media. But another persisted that questions remain unanswered, such as ones about fund-raisers Rezko held for him.
Obama replied, "These requests, I think, can just go on forever. ..." He said the "pertinent" information had been provided.
When Obama declared the press conference over, one reporter yelled that he was dodging questions just minutes after claiming he wasn't.

I listened to a person last night that said "Hillary needed to lose, so that the spot light would be on Obama.".
Why? Because now people are staring to dig deeper into his life and he does seem to be gasping like a fish out of water.

arieann - that is exactly why the media has been acting like lapdogs with Obama. They are afraid to be called racist. So they let this man who has several connections to black racists get away with his Evangelical style speeches while they go googoo on the public that they serve.
It is funny how much impact that the SNL skit had on the media. I guess they don't like to look in the mirror.

Obama depends on a groundswell of young (naive) voters to win. Who else could fall for his empty suit campaign?
There is a term for candidates who count on the youth vote.
The term is loser.
It didn't work for the Democrat McGovern in 1972, who thought all those spoiled sniveling kids who were protesting the unpopular war in Viet Nam would turn out for him in droves and instead were nowhere to be found when the time came.
McGovern lost by the biggest landslide in election history losing 49 of 50 states. (This was the biggest landslide at least up until that time. Reagan later won both of his presidential terms by huge landslides, first over Carter and later over Mondale. Reagan also won 49 of 50 states over Mondale, not sure if it was a bigger landslide than McGovern's loss, but I am sure it tells you a lot about what people think.)
So much for the youth vote pulling you through with protests about unpopular wars. If that's all Obama's got, he must be a very nervous man.

Waiting 41-- I am sorry. I didnt get your joke at first There is so much criticism about Bush by politically correct people, the nes that go way over board trying to not look like they are racist. I wonder if they will criticize Obama if he wins the election and screws up. They will be afraid to criticize a black man.

If anyone is paying attention at all, they can plainly see where the accusations of racism are on these threads. But I guess when you have absolutely nothing to stand on except fear, you're left with calling someone a racist, a terrorist, and a threat to America. It would be amusing if it weren't so pathetic.

Looks like Barak X's little fold job while undergoing his first real media pressure proved to be his Howard Dean moment.

I agree that Obama has been given a free ride up till now.
However, what I would like to see is for the media to simply give us the news and stop spinning, twisting, distorting, covering up, ignoring and outright lying about it.

...Obama is a racist, proven over and over. It is not a fear, but a fact of life, that no white, Asian, or Hispanic candidate would ever be allowed an opposed, but equal bigotry by the Reps, let alone the Dems.
...Nevertheless, several accusers have named other blacks that we would happily vote for as President, as Commander in Chief of our military; such as Colin Powell.

SG - As a Jew I would not be in favor of a Jewish President that had direct connections to Israel and a strong stance on Zionism. Lieberman was borderline on the American side. You would NEVER see a Synagogue preaching the kind of non sense that Barak X's Church preaches in regards to Jews.
It is impossible to happen in Judaism.
Of course he is a racist. Michelle X is proving it each day that she speaks or that her past politics are exposed.

But Bj, if they did that, we'd have to go back to the evening news being a half hour, the nightly news being the same, and the morning news being a half hour of actual news! How will they fill all the extra time? One can only watch so much Jerry Springer, Rachael Ray, etc...

True enough. I propose a 21st Century policy of no tolerance for genocide, slavery, criminal cartel, terrorism, subjugation of women, tyranny, and dictatorship, and true to form, some wank accuses me of being a racist and wishing war against black, brown, and yellow four-year olds.
They cant respond on the merits of the political science discussion and so lob in a racist attack when the real attack is on leftists, not on any particular race.
