The more staggering figure, is that only 40% of those surveyed even admitted to having any sexual contact at all, ever. That means that of that 40%......25% has already caught some form of crotch rot.

Thats rather alarming.

I didn't do it I swear !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, I do admit I wanted to.

The figure makes me sick.......... I would love to point out the argument that teenagers will have sex regardless, and that condoms were the answer.

I don't have any kids but, if I had a teenage daughter, I would be more than happy to let her " date " know that even if she strips down naked and jumps on him, I would hold him personally responsible for any sex taking place... And if any STD's were transfered, quarantine would not exactly be the word for it.

Most of this falls on the parents....... you must let your daughters know how special sex is, and multiple partners in high school means you are becoming a slut.

Kids are more protective of their cars, than their virginity.

Between Elliott Spitzer and Bill Clinton, I'm sure you can account for at least half of the cases.

"Ahhh never had sex with that women, Ms. Lewinsky."

Mr details here.

I posted the information as I recalled them saying it on the news yesterday. I posted the link later.

The link says......40% of the girls who admitted being sexually active had an std.

Whereas I had said 40% admitted to being sexually active, and of those 40%, 25% had gotten a disease. Well, mr math. if our original sample group were 100, and 40% admitted having sex (yes, that would be 40 girls), and of those 40 girls, 25% had gotten a disease, then that would only be a total of 10 girls.......which would be less than 25% of the total sampled.

I was understating it. Thanks for clearing that up.

It also said that 50% admitted to being sexually active, and of that 50%.......40% had an std.......again......worse than I had originally stated.

What is it the "Christian Right-Wingers" say...."Just Say NO"!!

It would help these kids a lot if their parents would act responsible and teach them about sex and condoms!

BUT, nnnnnnnnoooooooooo....you just say "NO"! And everything will come up "AIDS, Herpes, the Clap, Specific and non-Specific Urethritis and many others!

So, keep up the good work christians you are doing a bang-up job of killing off your kids!

More aftermath of Bubba Clintons "NEW SEX."

The man redefined sex and is responsible for the "Girls Gone WIld" generation of women!

Funny thing is that feminists are still googoo over Bubba!

Must be fun to be a teenage boy right now!

WOW. Talk about conspiracy theories. I thought the Weather Channel one was the best in comedic references. But blaming democrats for std's in America might give it a run for it's money.

How many blow jobs have you had wearing a condom? Have you ever protected yourself while having oral sex with a woman?

If kids are having sex at a younger and younger age, when any type of commitment is virtually impossible, the chances of STD's go out immeasurably. If the " easy " ones or the promiscuous ones are spreading disease around the schools, it is not the ones not having sex spreading it.

Talk to the teenagers, you will be surprised how many do not consider " oral " actual sex..... This lie was spread by the liberals to protect Bill....... The guys simply used the line to get a blow job.... Who says kids don't learn anything in school??

You know, sometimes, it simply amazes me the levels to which some will stoop, in the name of trying to make a political point. We have a huge problem, with STD's in this nation. Now, rather than talk about the problem and what can be done to reduce the pain, health issues and even deaths that result, what do I find in this thread? Yes, a bunch of drivel and rhetoric that is utter BS. The conservative says

True, as far as it goes, but notice that there is no criticism of the equally stupid remark by a liberal.

It is not the fault of Bill Clinton and neither are Christians doing a bang-up job of killing off their kids. The level of hatred & idiocy that is posted in the political forums is truly saddening.

From the Child Trends’ special American Teens Research Brief
Religion plays an important role in the lives of many children and teens. Teens who attend religious services are less likely to take risks or enjoy danger, engage in violent behaviors, or to get in trouble with the police. These teens are also less likely to skip school and to be suspended, expelled, or sent to detention. Teens who attend religious services are more likely to volunteer in their communities, participate in student government, and play sports or exercise regularly. These teens are also less likely than those who do not attend religious services to drink alcohol and to use illicit drugs. In addition, teens who attend religious services tend to hold more conservative attitudes toward sex and to have lower levels of sexual experience.
Lisa J. Bridges, Ph.D., and Kristin Anderson Moore, Ph.D.

I agree with Blueyes
Most of this falls on the parents
,in my opinion worthless parents make worthless examples for kids to follow.

say yes - I disagree with you. If you read further into the report you will see that many of the girls with STDs has never had intercourse. In Middle Schools and High Schools teens do not consider a Blow Job as SEX! That too has been reported in studies.

Where do you think that idea came from?

Sorry you don't get it.

Yes STDs are a big problem. I heard a report that said that in NYC the more condoms that the city gives away - the worse the STD rate gets.

How do you explain that?

Only because I didn't read what he posted. But yes, it is just as ridiculous to blame Christians. Last I checked, non-believers get std's too.

Oh I do get it. While some dems, want to parse words, in defense in Clinton, the typical teenager knows what sex is, what STD's are and how they are spread. Clinton wasn't the first president to get a blow job in the white house, by someone other than his wife and he won't be the last.

BTW, just how many teenage girls do you think are even aware of the Lewinski scandal? The impeachment hearings took place in 1998, so a 17 year old girl, would have been 7 at the time. Just how much of an impact do you really think that had on her and do you seriously believe that anyone is going to catch an STD today, because of a blow job that happened 12 years ago?

The thing is, when you are young, you have the tendency to think that you are immortal. They make stupid decisions, because they simple don't stop to consider the potential consequences. We had problems with STD's in this country, long before Bill Clinton became president & while I have little respect for the man, to blame him for the problem with STD's among the youth of America today, is simply absurd.

That being said, the ONLY way to be 100% safe in preventing the spread of STD's is through abstinance. I don't have a daughter (or son), but if I did, then I would encourage her to practice abstinence. At the same time, I would teach her that when the time comes that she does decide to have sex (including oral, anal, vaginal or any other kind that you may care to consider) that she should use a condom to protect her health.

Then again, your post, said nothing about abstinance. It was simply a cheap shot taken at liberals.

He was the first President that said in public that oral sex is not sex. Many of the cases of STDs are early teens and pre teens. If you remember when the trials were going on many children payed close attention to what the President said. His selfishness to clear his name had an adverse effect on these children.

It doesn't matter - WHen social values decay they dont just return to their previous form by accident.

Bet the girls in the 1920's, 1930's, 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's didn't have that high of an STD rate.

Of course back then, there were two parent families, God in schools, kids had discipline, etc, etc.

Thank the UCLA and the Liberal justices for making this country what it is today.

one thing that is amazing is no one is talking about the boys or men these girls had or are having sex with...the girls in the study are now age 18-23...think about that

Only about half of the girls in the study acknowledged having sex. Some teens define sex as only intercourse, yet other types of intimate behavior including oral sex can spread some diseases.

Among those who admitted having sex, the rate was even more disturbing — 40 percent had an STD.

“Those numbers are certainly alarming,” said sex education expert Nora Gelperin, who works with a teen-written Web site called sexetc.org.

“Sexuality is still a very taboo subject in our society,” she said. “Teens tell us that they can’t make decisions in the dark and that adults aren’t properly preparing them to make responsible decisions.”

Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said the study shows that “the national policy of promoting abstinence-only programs is a $1.5 billion failure, and teenage girls are paying the real price.”

Similar claims were made last year when the government announced the teen birth rate rose between 2005 and 2006, the first increase in 15 years.

The overall STD rate among the 838 girls in the study was 26 percent, which translates to more than 3 million girls nationwide, the CDC said.

The study by CDC researcher Dr. Sara Forhan is an analysis of nationally representative data on 838 girls aged 14 to 19 who took part in a 2003-04 government health survey. Teens were tested for four infections: human papillomavirus, or HPV, which can cause cervical cancer and affected 18 percent of girls studied; chlamydia, which affected 4 percent; trichomoniasis, 2.5 percent; and genital herpes, 2 percent.

We can't blame Clinton for teens having oral sex, but we can blame him for oral sex performed on the president as being seen as a joke, to follow, rather than seeing it as just as much sex as intercourse...

Jokes about this are still on t.v. quite often..... Kids are not dumb, they know all about it.... I would venture to guess the first time they knew what a blow job was, was because it was discussed around school, most just pretended they knew what it meant, before they actually found out.

I personally can't imagine finding out as a child ............the President of the United States, put his penis in a young womans mouth, left a stain on her dress, and his wife and half the country defended him, saying it was no big deal......

This must have some sort of impact.
