ya, I know, that sounds like the first Line
of a really bad Joke... 
everybody seems to have an onion on what the Differences are,
and there's a thread for that, this ain't it... 
I'll Start ;
I think the Right and the Left both want what's best for America...
they want a better Nation, and a Better world...
they Just Disagree on what that is Exactly, and how to go about it,
But I believe the Goal is the same... 
with good intentions , we should be able to work something out

I think the Right and the Left both want what's best for America...
How can the "Hate America First" leftists ever want whats best for America when the basis of their political opinion is shame for being an American and a desire to unilatterally disarm and never confront with the military option intact, regimes that practice dictatorship, tyranny, or genocide, or with regard to states that subborn slavery, piracy, criminal cartels, impose a state religion, subjugate women, or oppose the extension of freedom and democracy among oppressed peoples?
What the left wants is socialism and what the conservatives want is federalism.
It is impossible to abscribe good intentions to leftists who feel that they owe no allegiance to the United States of America and that the US President is a war criminal and that American foreign policy is founded on evil intentions.
Misguided people with a bad agenda DO NOT want whats "best" for America when they hope for the USA to be militarily defeated and humiliated.
Conservatives, on the other hand, are well known for their patriotism, love of country, and a desire to uphold America's virtues as the most generous and magnanimous nation in the history of Planet Earth. The agenda of the conservatives and liberals are worlds apart and lack any unifying reality, one with each other.

My Allegiance is to the entire planet,
that includes America, and all Mankind...
I happen to live in a Country without thought Police,
where I've the freedom to to Determine My Allegiance...
your misguided Mantra can not transform reality...
fortunately I doubt you represent Rightwing, Conservatives, or Republicans...

As I take note that you are repressive towards differing opinions than your own. Note this is not an attack, but instead is a statement of fact, given that he blocks any comment I might make on his blog sites because he cannot handle when I point out something that he finds incongruous with Leftist ideology.

I believe we all want change, yet we all fear it.
I believe that there are good AND bad lefties and righties
I believe there are some BAD of both. (ones that constantly spew hatred toward a party are the very worst representatives....but it makes the party they defend look scared and weak)

Then I agree that MOST of us do want what is best for the country. Some radicals though are more interested in upholding corrupt politicians than they are what is best for the country.

The day the citizens care enough that they won't settle for a choice between three worthless lifer political clowns like what we have to choose from now...The day the citizens get seriously up in arms over the absolute incompetence of the likes we've had the last eight years...then I will say they really care...
Until then they're just along for the ride...
I agree totally that your average everyday "live in the real world" liberals and conservatives (NOT to be confused with current dems and repubs) share a common love of country and sincere desire to make it better...they just differ completely on how best to accomplish it...

This is what I have been saying for years.
I tried for about 5 years to make a difference. I finally had to quit a lot of it. The reason? As you said; not enough people cared to help. It is going to take millions of people standing together to do it.

In truth, the two terms have nothing in common with their original intent.
Conservatives originally held the belief of status quo, with any changes brought about in a slow manner. Liberals were more concerned with individual freedoms brought about with any speed that would accomplish this goal. (Think American and French Revolutions).
I would think that today, both groups have wandered off into radicalism in their beliefs. I also hold the belief that both groups contain only 10% of the population respectively. The remainder are more apt to vote using intelligence rather than having the dillusion that one particular group has all of the answers for all of lifes problems.
Labeling yourself as either/or would be a misnomer. Most would hold some of the beliefs of both, with a tendency to lean more towards one or the other, depending on situations as they arise.
So rather than arguing or debating with someone who swears by one of the labels, doing this will give the same results

That, and the fact that in order to be a part of either party these days, one has to buy into the entire polarized program...dictated by the radicalism on BOTH sides that's running wild..
