Should this threat be ignored the long term issues will be disastrous for the world not just the USA.
And typically the neocons keep lying about what the other side believes, and what the stated "threat" actually was. What is the threat? Why was the WTC attacked? Do you know? Do you remember why the people claiming responsibility SAID they attacked it?

They said they attacked the WTC because we would not get out of Muslim lands and leave their countries alone. They had warned us that if we didn't leave their countries alone and stop meddling, they were going to attack us. THAT was the "threat" that was ignored that should have been (in fact, STILL should be) paid attention to. As long as you ignore THAT threat, you foment and invite terrorism. Ignoring that threat has produced disastrous results for the USA. And it wasn't just the neocons, either. It was all the complacent, arrogant, head-in-the-sand Americans who looked at them and said, "Hmph. Buncha towel-headed cave dwellers. They can't hurt us." And in the larger scheme of things, they only killed a number of people that amounted to less than 1 in 100,000 Americans. And now we're spending over a million dollars an HOUR to fight "a buncha towel-headed cave-dwellers," and (in case you hadn't noticed) there are more of them than there were when we started! I know it will be difficult for the language-challenged neocons, but one can read a very good analysis of bin Laden's (and by extension, Al Qaeda's) apparent strategy in Central Asia here:
Al Qaeda's plan for Central Asia Special note might be taken of the conclusions:
Washington and the Europeans can stand by
their insistence on substantive human-rights reforms by Central Asian
regimes, thereby loosing basing rights and any measure of influence
they may now have on the regimes’ behavior vis-à-vis domestic
Islamists. This policy also would give Russia and China a long leg-up
in the competition for regional energy resources. On the other hand,
Washington and Europe can drop their human-rights agenda, support
the Central Asian regimes, and seek to preserve or expand basing
rights at a time when the growing Afghan insurgency appears likely to
require a longer and perhaps larger presence of the U.S.-led coalition
military forces in Afghanistan. Either policy choice will stimulate
Islamic militancy in Central Asia. That has long been Al-Qaeda’s
major, non-WMD-related goal in the region
, and, for now, bin Laden
can continue to see it gradually being realized with only a minor
expenditure of his group’s resources.

Nobody appreciates what the signifigance of somebody gettin hurt till it happens ta them.

A child beater don't know till he's been on the other end a the belt.

A wife abuser don't know till he had a broken nose and a black eye.

Most of us will neve know what tits like ta have an arm or leg blowed off or a bullet in the gut.

Time ta stop the madness.

Time to let them go. Let them be.

let me explain how our government treats there veterans. my father served in two wars, before he passed away. i tried for five years to get him in the VA, our great republican senator from south Carolina. Lindsey graham. did nothing. my father died before he could get the help he earned. I'm sure soldiers in Iraq. will be treated the same.

it's always amazing what short memories we as a country have...but then again it really isn't is it?? ... do if you think i have blood on my hands then i can think of a lot worse things you have on yours .... and being self-centered and caring about nothing but myself is one of them….

people seem to forget about Vietnam being a big failure because of damn politicians running the war and it being the first we lost and walked away from and left it hi and dry because this country didn't have the stomach or wisdom to let the ones that were there handle it and finish the job we started....... as they say history will and does repeat it's self

if you don't have the guts to face the truth of what is right in front of you then keep living in your fantasy world as most choose to do... but when it comes home to your front door don't let me hear you scream and cry to send them home and why did you forsake me...

sort of sounds a lot like a few stories i've read and heard about before in several different places......

And yep the above is nothing but my opinion like yours is yours so freaking deal with it and whine and cry and name call all you want to because “frankly my dear I don’t give a damn“ …..

If he did go (which I doubt as you seem to be tripping up on lies all over the place) he went so you can shoot your bigoted hateful views on everything all over the place.

a hate/fear monger just hates and fears and it doesn't matter who they hate or fear they just hate and fear..so that puts you Gary in the same category you call others that don't agree with you......
