Troll.
Anyway, I was reading an article that talked about how the Pentagon had "mistakenly" listed sign up bonuses as "nonsecured loans" on credit applications for thousands of active duty personnel, who in turn were denied apartments, car loans, etc. The problem was supposedly fixed, but apparently continues.
One soldier originally from Western Pennsylvania, who lost a leg in Iraq two weeks before the end of his bonus period was harrassed by a collection agent for repayment of bonus. It became a big story in the local papers, because right before they went after the signing bonus, the White House did a photo op with the soldier's mother for all of her volunteer work. It was very distasteful.

nah12...."UN-INSTALL INTERNET EXPLORER BROWSER"?
I would love to see "YOU" do that! Please, try it!
Just as a warning....don't do it! Because if you "try" you will crash that Windows 95 you are running and it will be gone until you re-install the system!
Has anyone ever told you explorer is integrated into the operating system of Microsoft's Operating Systems and it can not be removed or disabled! I suppose not when I read what you have been spewing!
Just last year the European Countries sued Microsoft and received relief. Now, you can get a Windows OS without an Internet Explorer Browser in the system itself! Only in Europe not here in the U.S.!
nah12....in this instance...you don't know what you are talking about!
nah12....said this...."let me say this real slow ... if you are educated enough you can uninstall IE and set the other programs to be handled by another program that is compatible with workarounds ... or you can disable it and let another be your preference....."....!!

Microsoft's suggestion for uninstalling IE7
Note that it uninstalls IE7 and restores IE6.
Google is filled with wailing and lamentations regarding the horror that is MSIE.

Click on "Start", then "Control Panel", then "Add or Remove Programs", then scroll down to "Windows Internet Explorer 7" and click on it and lastly, click on the "Remove" button.
It's just not that difficult to remove Internet Explorer which, as Nah stated, is very different from Explorer.
In real life, I use third party uninstallers such as Revo (freeware) since it does a much more thorough job that the Windows version.

It's just not that difficult to remove Internet Explorer which, as Nah stated, is very different from Explorer. Per Microsoft, that process will uninstall IE7, and restore IE6.
Maybe Microsoft doesn't know the process very well?

I have completely removed both IE6 and IE7 on several occasions. There are a few web sites that still require it (most notably Microsoft's own pages), so I do have a copy currently installed. I always have Firefox set as the default browser, however.
As a side note, if you are a Firefox user, version 3 is very special. The general availability version of it has been out for a couple of weeks. There are a couple of extensions that don't work without a little extra effort, but overall it is great. It uses substantially less RAM and is far faster than previous versions.

I would love to see "YOU" do that! Please, try it! Hey guys, don't mean to get in the middle of an argument, but if it can help here is how you uninstall Internet explorer.
Start/ settings /control panel/ad remove programs. Then click on 'ad or remove windows componets to the left, then put a check mark on Windows explorer from the list. Then click next to complete the removal

As far as removing Windows Messenger, I don't think It can be removed from the windows remove/ad function. Do a google search for a windows messenger removal patch.

Kenn if you have XP SP1 or SP2 then windows messenger is in add and remove programs also...
if no SP is installed you can pull up the run command and type in RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove then poof it's gone...
PS thanks Capo some just don't want to believe things they don't know about..
And SO sorry Angel...

My last response to this off-topic crap.
let me say this real slow ... if you are educated enough you can uninstall IE and set the other programs to be handled by another program that is compatible with workarounds ... or you can disable it and let another be your preference..... BUT you have to be educated 1. You don't just have to educated, you have to be educated in computer systems. I'm not and never claimed to be. 2. When the hospital IT guy calls me before setup and says I have to have IE6 to work with their system, I dont' argue with him because I don't know enough to. 3. When I call the hospital and say I got an update notice over the weekend and upgraded to IE7 and now nothing works and he says "Oh, shit," I'm assuming this is a compatibility problem between programs. And it's nothing I care to study up on enough to learn to work around it. There are systems in place that do work, and I don't need to be the one to refine them. It's not my preferred field. Putting me down me because I don't know as much as you about computers is like me laughing at you because you don't know what amiodarone is prescribed for or what the standard dose is, or because you used the wrong size rubber motor on your EZB for the prop that is on it; the pitch is too low for that much torque. I don't tell people they would know the difference between a diminshed 7th and a minor chord if they were educated, because I know it is not something that they might be expected to know unless they were educated in that particular field. Syndi obviously isn't "educated" either. She asked what MSIE was, and I tried my best to explain what I knew about it to her. See, when someone doesn't know something, that's what nice people do. They say, "Well, if you're really interested, here's what I know about it. And if you're more interested in it than that, you'll have to find someone who knows more than I do to find out more." If you're trying to decide whether you want to use an MH62 on your next project, let me know and I'll shoot you the polars.

Nightowl, you are correct in your point above and I understand your ire as this did eat up waaaaaaay too much bandwidth. However, allow me to suggest a much more expedient way of handling this type of situation for the next time;
Whatever Like I make my living saving lives in the real world, not geeking comps to death so, only offer a friendly suggestion to my fellow poster. .

There is no way to un-install Internet Explorer Browser from your computer! You can not shut it down as it is an integral part of "explorer"! You can set another browser as the default but, removing IE is a no-no! Microsoft will not recognize any other browser at their update site but Internet Explorer!
Now, for all you....geeks that have uninstalled Internet Explorer Browser.....please press "control","alt" and "delete" together....these buttons are on your keyboard, by the way!
This will bring up Windows Task Manager. Please, look at those process's running and notice the one named "explorer"
Now, for the "geeks" only.....click and high lite this process then right click on your mouse go to kill tree....then click ok! This is only for the "Geeks" because they have stated they have removed iexplore from their computer!
After you do this procedure....get back and tell us what happened! Better yet try to remove this process from your computer as you try to get back to us!
I know I am wasting my time....but, I am enjoying the laugh so much....I can't stop!
nah12........when you lose an argument you revert to name calling! Why is it you hate men so much? I would be interested in that point of view!
capobeachguy.....you the same guy that said we bombed Germany and Italy before they declared war on us! And you want me to believe "ANYTHING" you say!
You don't even know your history....go back to school...you are not impressing me....but, maybe it is someone else you are trying to impress...now, whom could that be?
