I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

MLK

For the first time since Kennedy was running of President America can be proud of our choice for President in Barrack Obama. For the first time in American history an african-american will more than likely be elected President, not just because of the color of his skin but because he's the best man for the job. There's something in the air every where you go. It's not just in the so-called african-american community either. Every where you turn people are excited over the prospect of electing our first black President. Everywhere people are anxious to show the world that America has at long last moved beyond the predudices of the past and we are indeed one nation.

And as an added bonus we have a very respected and honorable rival to Obama in Senator John Mc Cain. Either Obama or Mc Cain would be a long awaited welcome to end of the Bush Administration. Mc Cain is a good man. But he doesn't promise an end to the "politics as usual" change that Obama does. Some people ask if Obama can deliver on all the promises he's offering. Myself I'm not that concerned about whether he can do all the things he says he will. At least I know that all Americans will be represented by an Obama administration. And for the first time since I registered, I'm going to be proud to cast my vote for the next President of the United States.

I don't agree. He's doing a lot more than trying for one thing. He may well be the next President. As far as being just another politician I don't think he could have beat Hillary if he weren't using un-orthodox tactics. Obama is more than meets the eye. He is a movement in of himself. He's going to win because Mc Cain won't realize how much of a movement until it's too late.

He's not elected yet Mr. O.

A little soon to be forcasting don't you think?
I will listen very carefully to what Sen Obama really has to say, and of course Sen McCain.

I wonder if who they pick as a running mate will make or break one of them too.

I certainly hope they have the "Town Hall" debates where people from the audiance can ask questions.

I look forward to hearing what both of these men have to say on many things.

you can thank bush. when obama wins. you can blame bush's war in Iraq. for the lost. its going to be so funny when you republicans see our soldier coming home. it will be a great day. most of you who are for war have never served. because your cowards. you want other people to fight your battles.

Mc Cain has a son who is a marine. I've read where Cindy Mc Cain was in tears once at a campaign event because he had called and she missed the called. She says that she supports Mc Cain because she trust him to do the right thing. But as a mother of a son in harms way she has to, at some level, hope Obama wins so he can come home---even if she would never admit it openly.

Although McCain chooses not to make it a "talking point," James ("Jimmy") served in Iraq until February 2008.

Looks like he is already home?

Oh a Marine at home during war time. The guy must be going nuts....I really must say that I admire Mc Cain for not making it a talking point. But then again it has "blow up in your face" written all over it, doesn't it ? Can you say "tacky".

I do want to say that I am not against Sen Obama because he is black. I do how smile when I realize that finally, a black American and a woman ran for this office! That is a great thing too.

History in the making. And we get a ring side seat. No matter who wins (Obama), it's has still been a great moment in American history.

That would be a green light for the Clintonistas to assassinate Hillary's running mate.

I will not vote for any ticket that has Hillary Clinton's name on it. That is a deal killer for me.

O: Oh a Marine at home during war time. The guy must be going nuts....I really must say that I admire Mc Cain for not making it a talking point. But then again it has "blow up in your face" written all over it, doesn't it ? Can you say "tacky".

...McCain has two sons (Jimmy and Jack) that have served and Jimmy (age 19), back from Iraq, is about to go to Afghanistan.

..."Calling attention to the children of politicians serving in the war in some circles would be considered crass."

...Obama, on the other hand, has never served a day and is to be considered a candidate as Commander in Chief? ... another desk warrior who will make stupid decisions to get people killed.

...King would not choose someone based on the color of their skin, nor would he endorse a liar. Obama is far from the person for the job; he is simply the Democrat's best flunky in the running.

O: History in the making. And we get a ring side seat. No matter who wins (Obama), it's has still been a great moment in American history.

...Why?

...Because he is 1/2 Caucasion, 7/16 Arab and 1/16 Black., the color of his skin, etc.?

...Debra Dickerson, the black author of The End of Blackness, says Obama is an "adopted brother," as he is not a descendent of black slavery and we need another "name" for him, besides what is now defined as African American.

Debra Dickerson ...Rather entertaining.

...If you are going to be the bigot with skin color, Condoleezza Rice is 10 times more intelligent, Colin Powell has 10 times the integrity and character and a thousand times more ability to be Commander in Chief. And both descend from US slavery, whereas Obama has not a drop.

...Africa has plenty of Caucasian people and if they immigrated here, would you consider them African Americans? Then why in the hell would you consider Obama one? In no way did Obama grow up, nor will he ever understand what black America is all about.

...Sorry, the facts speak for themselves, as you cannot claim him as you and millions are attempting to do.

Martin Luther King was NOT a Marxist like Obama is. How can a Marxist national embarrassment like Obama be the realization of a hero's dream?

Obama is a "Liar"! That to me and a lot of other people is "THE" worst thing to do while running for President of the United States!

He will not receive my vote!

.

...Quoting Debra Dickerson, the black American expert on the black community:

"Obama is an "African African American."

"An adopted brother."
