Do you really think that he knows something that the Democrats in power for the past eight years did not know?

Kenn Dennis had a really good platform, but the corporate media, realizing their new job is to insure the corporate status quo , had to smear him as some kind of nut case.
Some kind of a nut case? Anybody that hangs with McClaine and see UFOs I would imagine is predisposed to that sort of end.

"Congressman John Olver expressed the prevailing view in government circles when he told twenty of his constituents at a private meeting in Massachusetts on July 5, 2007, that he could not support a movement to impeach Bush. According to an attendee, the reason the Congressman gave was that, “The President would declare a national emergency, institute martial law, and suspend the 2008 elections.” Is there any reason to doubt Congressman Olver's statement? Clearly Bush has granted himself pretty much blanket "authority" to deliver on his threat, under NSPD-51 http://www.ww4report.com/node/3940 to declare a national emergency, impose martial law, etc. whenever he decides there is a "catastrophic emergency" as "any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions." No one from the meeting is coming forward to say that the allegations are false, nor is Olner taking any steps to silence those (including Ralph Nader) who are repeating the story. There is a report that it was on the front page of a newpaper, but I have not pursued that.
Do you know that it is at all possible?
Check the links above that show that "law" giving that kind of power to the president is alresdy in place.

Bugliosi....was/is one of the finest Attorneys in our country. I have been in a lecture where he talked about Charles Manson and those killers. He is very articulate, cordial and an all around nice guy. He talked and answered questions for several hours. Way beyond the time he had been scheduled for. He laughed and cut-up with the Faculty and students like he had known them all his life.
A real nice guy!

I think it is not out of the realm of possibility. I am not on a hearing committee nor a jury. I would like to see the evidence presented before a panel of 'average' (as impartial as could be assembled) American people. I would like a real 'trial by jury' on 911 and the governmental responses to it. I doubt that will ever happen.

Every President has had that power and most in the past fifty years or so have amended it to reflect the times as Bush certainly did post 911. It's nothing nefarious or special as most countries have something similar. In Canada, we have the War measures Act which gives dictatorial powers to the PM in case of national emergency. The idea is rationale in that if an event occurs that prohibits the Senate and congress from meeting due to danger, civil unrest or they are simply dead, the President takes over.
Like, whatever. This happened five years ago and i remember the hens squawking about it then so to see it appear on a loony left rant thread now is no surprise.

Lie #1 - Uranium from Niger - Bush said "The British Government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." in his State of the Union Address. The documents supporting that statement were forged.
Lie #2 - Iraq and 9/11 - Bush led people to believe that Iraq was involved with 9/11 by repeatedly linking them in his speeches. This was so effective that at one point 70% of Americans actually believed Saddam was behind 9/11. Bush has since admitted that this was not true.
Lie #3 - Congress Knew - Bush has stated that Congress had access to all the same information that the White House had. Thus he should not be blamed for making the mistake of going to war. But Bush was briefed many times about the falsehood of various stories and this information never reached Congress. [ZNet]
Lie #4 - Aluminum Tubes - Bush, Cheney, Rice and Powell said that some aluminum tubes Iraq attempted to buy were intended for use in a uranium centrifuge to create nuclear weapons. These were the only physical evidence he had against Iraq. But it turns out this evidence had been rejected by the Department of Energy and other intelligence agencies long before Bush used them in his speeches. [NYTimes] [MotherJones] [CNN]
Lie #5 - Iraq and Al Qaeda - Bush still insists that there was a "relationship" between Iraq and Al Qaeda. Lie #6 - Weapons of Mass Destruction - Bush insisted that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction but his "evidence" consisted mostly of forged documents, plagiarized student papers, and vague satellite photos. The United Nations was on the ground in Iraq and could find nothing. After extensive searches Bush was finally forced to admit that Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction.
Lie #7 - Mobile Weapons Labs - Bush and his team repeatedly claimed that Iraq possessed mobile weapons labs capable of producing anthrax. Colin Powell showed diagrams of them at his speech before the UN to justify invading Iraq. These claims originated from Curveball, a discredited Iraqi informer who fed Bush many of the stories related to WMD. On May 29, 2003, two small trailers matching the description were found in Iraq. A team of bio-weapons experts examined the trailers and concluded they were simply designed to produce hydrogen for weather balloons. Nothing says you have to post on a thread you consider 'loony left rant'. You would have a difficult time indicting me for being 'left' based on my voting history or political views. But feel free to ignorantly discount any with views opposed to yours by slapping a label on them.
I think you will have a difficult time finding any Bush-bashing posts by me or anything pushing a liberal agenda -- even if I do support undocumented immigrants. I think there are a lot of unanswered questions when it comes to 911 and 'laws' put in place as a result. Our government has a huge track record for cover-up. Our nation was built on a representative republican form of government -- where the government answers to the people.
Continuity of Operation should not be license for assault against America, but should only be used as a defense for America. A dictatorship is not compatible with that concept. Leadership is. Leaders have willing followers. Dictators have slave compliance.
