Susan Atkins was a following member of the Charles Manson Family clan that received the death sentence, then later was commuted to Life in Prison for murder in partcipation of 8 in 9 of the killings.
She has terminal brain cancer, which was diagnosed in April this year. The Doctors say she has about 3 months left to live.
The California Board of Parole have unanimously denied Atkins compassionate request release.

The Doctors say she has about 3 months left to live.
And we Californians are paying her medical expenses.
That's about as compassionate as I can get for her.

Ask Sharon Tate's unborn child if there should be any compassion. 
The woman was supposed to die in prison, and now it's happening. That's as it should be, no?

Personally I agree with live in prison, means life in prison. The first link tells us the amount the taxpayers also has paid just since March...
Atkins' medical treatment and paying for prison guards to watch over her has cost state taxpayers more than $1.4 million since March, according to the corrections department.

I think they should stop paying for and providing her medical care...that would shorten the sentence!!! Now that would be compassion..

If she was released, she most likely wouldn't receive much medical care coverage due to a "pre-exisiting condition."

The CA Supreme Court invalidated all death sentences that were prior to 1972.

I read it, but missed it. 
Is it too late for the murderer to get shanked in jail? 
I've seen death by cancer up close and personal with my mother's death  , and I wish it ob no one. 
The electric chair 30 years ago would've been far more humane.

Pity for her it didn't kill her.
Waiting to succumb from cancer ain't pretty.
Mom's cancer had spread thoughout her body.
Her lung sack filled with fluid and she started drowning in bed.
IMHO we were merciful by giving her a morphine and xanax which slowed her panic attacks and breathing down to the point of death.
At least she was at home in my arms when she died.

I also went through watching my dad go down with cancer and experienced first hand the ups and downs and heartache of watching a once healthy, vibrant man deteriorate into a shell of what he once was. Death was a relief for him. I agree, it's a terrible thing to go through.
But he lived a good long life...something the folks Susan Atkins helped butcher never had the luxury of experiencing and enjoying.
She's where she belongs, and the only way she leaves is in a box!!

So sorry uab...and I also know the suffering of losing loved ones to cancer.
You know what is a coincidence? Atkins had stabbed Voytek Frykowski, the polish actor in the legs. He was stabbed 51 times and was shot twice.

This is getting morbid.
I'm glad the murderer didn't get out of jail just because she's dying.
Her victims had no such luxury.
