I would like to share with you with a couple of amusing anecdotes from the book "The Gurkhas' by Byron Farwell.

"Railway trains filled with refugees were frequently attacked. The 2/1st Gurkhas left Peshawar for Allahabad by train on 31 August [1947]. All along the way they saw dead bodies. [A distance of roughly 850 miles.] When, shortly before noon, they pulled into the station at Ambala, they found a train standing there with about 200 dead Muslims. Most had been killed with spear thrusts or sword cuts. Only seventeen of the victims were still alive, one, an old man, bleeding from sixteen spear wounds. One was a little girl of four or five whose legs had been hacked off above her knees. A pregnant woman was barely alive; her unborn baby had been ripped out of her womb and thrown in her face."

and

"Major Clifford Williams, a staff officer with 11 Infantry Brigade, 4th Indian Division wrote:

I was driving down the Grand Trunk Road between Jullandar and Ludhiana when I came across the scene of a recent atrocity. By the side of the road were the naked mutilated bodies of about forty women, only one alive. The common mutilations were breasts cut off and the stomachs of pregnant women slit open with their unborn babies beside them. While I gazed at this gruesome sight, a woman without breasts painfully sat up, saw me and sank back to die, and as she did so she pulled a piece of clothing to hide her nakedness."

Not really that amusing, eh? I want to point out that these hideous acts were committed by people like you and me. They were not soldiers (although soldiers were certainly involved in the slaughter); they were men and women who joined the mobs that attacked Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and anybody else who was different. They did so because they had been taught from childhood to hate Hindus, to hate Muslims, to hate Sikhs. These accounts were but two of the uncounted horrors of that ghastly harvest of hate.

It troubles me because I see the same seeds being planted right here in MatchDoctor. I see men and women who should--and do!--posses the intelligence to know better advocating the extermination of liberals, the extermination of conservatives. I have read countless posts in which the author chose to condemn an entire ideology or religion rather than the individual sinners. I have read whole threads devoted to bashing the opposition rather than seeking solutions which benefit us all. In other words, I see people sowing the seeds of hate--and I fear for our future.

In my lifetime I have yet to see Hindus, Muslims or Sikh's killed by mobs in the USA.

I have however seen Muslims killing innocent infidel Americans in mass.

You apparently were asleep the week after 9/11, then.

I wouldn't worry too much about our future, RQ. I think the internet has proved to be an flawed lens through which to view the world. I actually believe there are fewer voices than in the past calling for the wholesale eradication of opposition groups, but they are "louder" now because of the increased exposure. I think that slowly but surely, we are socially evolving toward a more tolerant socity that actually has a greater compassio and concern for our fellow man. There are just rough spots in the road when the "old ways" rise to the surface.

WTF are you talking about. You are insinuating that Muslims were hoarded and murdered here?

Wow. Enlighten me then. I did miss it.

What I remember the week after 9-11 was that all air travel was shut down. The stock market was shut down. Politicians including the President urged Americans to understand that this was an act of few extremist Muslims. And in my area people, including Jews were in front of Mosques visibly protecting the Muslims during their times of worship.

So NO, what country were you in? Any evidence of your imaginary mass murder of Muslims??

Hmmm...OK Einstein, exactly how many Hindus, Muslims or Sikh's killed by mobs in the USA?

Was not aware that Kansas legalized LSD...because you are obviously on a trip that nobody else is on.

Amazing

This coming from a tinfoil hat wearing troofer who believes that the WTC was imploded and regularly posts crap from websites that are agenda driven lunatic crap while contributing to the illusion of truth by referring to people like Pierre Salinger as a "respected author."

NO - you are phonier than a $3 bill.

On September 18th Kimberly Lowe, a 21-year-old full-blooded Creek Native American, and several Native American friends were followed and harassed by a vehicle of white males in Tulsa. The men threw items at the car and yelled "Go back to your own country!" When Lowe stopped the car and went to confront the men, the attackers drove into her, pinned her against another vehicle, then backed up and ran over her again. Lowe was killed. Police are investigating but have yet to deemed it a hate crime.
Balbir Singh Sodhi (1949 - September 15, 2001) was a Mesa, Arizona, gas station owner who was murdered in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks. He made headlines because he was the first of several cases across the United States that were reported to the police as acts of retaliation for the terrorist attacks. According to family members, Singh Sodhi had been distraught because of the terrorist attacks.

Born in Punjab, India, he was a member of the Sikh religion. He moved to Los Angeles in 1989, where he worked as a taxi driver. He later relocated to San Francisco, where he continued to work in that capacity. He saved enough money to buy a gas station in Phoenix, and then he moved there.

On September 15, 2001, he was shot five times by a gunman and died instantly. Apparently, he had been confused with a person of Middle Eastern ethnicity because of the clothes he wore, his turban, and his beard. Within 25 minutes of his death, the Phoenix police reported four further attacks on people who either were Middle Easterners or who dressed with clothes thought to be worn by Middle Easterners.

NO is in favor of eradicating is reality. Immediately.

NO - there are 17,000 plus people murdered in the USA every year. I am sure you burned up google searching for that.

WTF is your point?

What does that have to do with anything?

Is one murder now a mass? Is this another conspiracy theory that we need to don our tinfoil caps to understand?

"Almost immediately after the collapse of Communism, Islam emerged as the new evil force in the world," said John E. Woods, a professor of Middle Eastern history at the University of Chicago.

The city's mosque had burned, gasoline-fueled flames melting the vinyl siding, charring the prayer hall, and scorching the rooftop crescent. But Asmir Markinson decided to pray in the empty parking lot, behind the yellow police tape.
"I finished praying, looked up, and saw three teen-age girls standing at the gate," recalled the 30-year-old mother, who stands out in this small Midwestern city because she wears a hijab, the head scarf of a devout Muslim.
First came the jeers: "They should just give it up" and "Why don't you just go home?"
Then, as Mrs. Markinson's pace quickened down the sidewalk that June afternoon, the stones came.
"I had felt that animosity in Germany, when they would say, 'Go home, you dirty Turk,' " said Mrs. Markinson, a former member of the Army military police who converted to Islam after serving in the Gulf war. "But this is Springfield."
Springfield, where Abraham Lincoln alerted pre-Civil War America with a speech on "A House Divided," is again witness to a pernicious division spreading across the land: a surge in hate crimes against Muslims.
During the past year, five American mosques have been burned down or seriously vandalized. In the three days after the Oklahoma City bombing in April, an anti-defamation group recorded 222 attacks against Muslims -- ranging from spitting on women wearing shawls to death threats to shots fired at mosques to a fake bomb thrown at a Muslim day care center.
On April 19, the day of the bombing, many American television stations indicated that Islamic fundamentalists were the prime suspects. The two men indicted for the crime, Timothy J. McVeigh and Terry L. Nichols, are American-born and are considered to have been driven by right-wing politics, not religious fervor.
The increasing vandalism and attacks are considered to be only a glimpse of the broader picture. "Only 10 percent of the mosques responded to our survey," said Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The council, based in Washington, released its report on Thursday. The group's next project is to prepare a booklet on mosque security and distribute it to the roughly 1,500 mosques in the United States.
The increase in hate crimes comes at a time when Islam is America's fastest growing faith. In the United States, Muslims now outnumber Episcopalians 2-to-1. With about six million adherents, Islam is expected to overtake Judaism as the largest non-Christian religion in the United States by the end of the decade.
But with slightly more than half of America's Muslim population foreign-born, Muslims suffer from a vulnerability compounded by linguistic, cultural and political isolation.

62% of the hate crimes in the USA are against Jews.

20% are against Muslims

You can see evidence of that here on MD. Jews are used to it.

Here are the FBI stats-

Pretty much a no-brainer. NOT a person of Middle Eastern heritage. NEXT...

On September 30, 2003, Frank Roque, age 44, was convicted of first-degree murder in the Singh case.

Only one person convicted...does that qualify as a mob, LOL? NEXT...

Within 25 minutes of his death, the Phoenix police reported four further attacks on people who either were Middle Easterners or who dressed with clothes thought to be worn by Middle Easterners.

All in Phoenix...and coincidental enough to likely be the same perp that was convicted considering the timeframe.

OK...where are all the mob-hate crimes against Middle Eastern people following 9/11? You haven't shown us ANY.

Here endith the lesson...

I don't believe that is the case in the our current times, and as stated statistically Muslim's are less likely to report a crime because of the higher proportions of newly immigrant status Muslim's that have not yet integrated into societal systems including trust for the police, which immigrants fear could potentially racially profile them.

Back on point, this is not a thread about which ethnic group has more hate crimes perpetrated against them, it is about the harvest of hate, any single hate crime in one too many against anyone including Jewish people.

I believe AM hate radio is a great catalyst for this rage.

What rage? What "new Muslim immigrants? What are you going on about kenn?

kenn, you can ramble all you want. Your ramblings are your imagination. Muslims report anything that happens to them. CAIR and other organizations make a living at it. Any time a Muslim gets arrested they claim it is a hate crime.

Read the FBI stats kenn. That is what it happening.

Muslims and other religious groups are less likely to be harmed here in the USA than anywhere in the world.

Here is a novel idea. Go to China and start passing out Bibles.

You also may not know that this week three relief workers in Afghanistan - Christians, were killed by the Taliban - Muslims. These women were there to help the poor.

Rare, in some ways and with some your statement does ring true. Also it does appears that some will sacrifice anything or one just in order to be right.

Remember ignorance is not bliss, but it does produce injustice, wars, hatred and etc. It only takes the ignorance of one individual to start the path of producing the genocides that have plagued society in past years to becoming the norm of today’s society.

The seeds of hate are being sown in this country 24/7, by the media.

People like Limbaugh going at it every day. Also the political parties do everything they can (especially the republican party) to divide us. They are all succeeding very well.

Here is an example of one of the cogs of the republican hate machine.

He would have fit in quite well in the SS 65 years ago.
I turned on his radio show once while driving in my car and he was right in the middle of a rant about how Jimmy Carter was a waste of a human, and scum not worthy of the sole of his shoe.

Vinny stop denying that your party is full of hate mongers, your only making yourself look silly.

Where did it go NO?

Another troofer theory?

Kenn, another one of your whack job web sites?

If you watched Hannity or listened to him you would know that he has many liberal friends that respect him and appear on his show regularly. Yet you continue to read these whacked out agenda driven web sites and swallow their pill. You have lost your ability to think kenn. You may have never had the ability in the first place.

Here is what the Daily Koz wrote when Bob Novak was diagnosed with cancer. Share the liberal love.

'If god can give Robert Novak a brain tomour then why cant he give all of them one. I’m sure they annoy the f*ck out of him. I’ve heard that novak is called the prince of darkness. Hes just an vile slimey crumudgeon. Prince of Darkness? Too flattering by a long shot. But hes got his now and is out of the picture. Good riddence.'
