Since Obama has agreed to this, it looks like he is doing EVERYTHING he can (short of asking her to be VP), to appease Hillary supporters. He is in DESPERATE need of their support. I think some of her delegates were going to nominate her anyway, so he decided the best thing to do was to agree with it.

Hillary, in anticipation of the disclosure of Barry's disqualification because of his citizenship status is planning the hijacking of the convention as we speak.
The convention will be more fun than watching the Olympics!
Maureen Dowd calls it "Yes She Can"
WASHINGTON: While Obama was spending three hours watching "The Dark Knight" five time zones away, and going to a fund-raiser featuring "Aloha attire" and Hawaiian pupus, Hillary was busy planning her convention.
You can almost hear her mind whirring: She's amazed at how easy it was to snatch Denver away from the Obama saps. Like taking candy from a baby, except Beanpole Guy doesn't eat candy. In just a couple of weeks, Bill and Hill were able to drag No Drama Obama into a swamp of Clinton drama.
Now they've made Barry's convention all about them - their dissatisfaction and revisionism and barely disguised desire to see him fail. Whatever insincere words of support the Clintons muster, their primal scream gets louder: He can't win! He can't close the deal! We told you so!
Hillary's orchestrating a play within the play in Denver. Just as Hamlet used the device to show that his stepfather murdered his father, Hillary will try to show the Democrats they chose the wrong savior.
Her former aide Howard Wolfson fanned the divisive flames Monday on ABC News, arguing that Hillary would have beaten Obama in Iowa and become the nominee if John Edwards' affair had come out last year - an assertion contradicted by a University of Iowa survey showing that far more Edwards supporters had Obama as their second choice..
Hillary feels no guilt about encouraging her supporters to mess up Obama's big moment, thus undermining his odds of beating John McCain and improving her odds of being the nominee in 2012.
She's obviously relishing Hillaryworld's plans to have multiple rallies in Denver, to take out TV and print ads and to hold up signs in the hall that read "Denounce Nobama's Coronation."

Following is part of an email she sent out.
"I cannot wait for the lights to come up and the cameras to roll at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. When I join Democrats from across the country who are unified and ready to get to work to elect Barack Obama, I want you there."
It doesn't sound like she is planning anything sinister to me.

Do you have any proof of any this ? I think this just goes to show that the republicans just have no leadership right now. They are all afraid , in fact, to even be identified as a republican...so afraid that more than a dozen are expected to boycott the Republican convention. Why? Because they want to keep their jobs and they're afraid if they appear too republican they'll be voted out of office. So then it's no wonder their supporter are left to make up wide and amazing scenarios in hopes of convincing themselves it just isn't so.

Bj864....Actually there is a movement on-going where her supporters are trying to get her name added to the polling going on between Obama and McCain!
I admit it would be very interesting to see what her numbers would be!

Hillary 2008!
From Politico
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12565.html
Rep.: Half of House Dems may vote Hillary at DNC Rep. Loretta Sanchez says she’s happy for the chance to vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton at the Democratic National Convention — and she predicts that as many as half of the Democrats in the House could join her.
Just how many former Clinton supporters will vote for the former first lady during the symbolic first ballot is anybody’s guess, but each of them will be called upon to do so — whether they want to or not.
On Friday, the Obama campaign confirmed that the floor vote in Denver, intended to assuage Clinton supporters still stewing over her narrow loss, will be conducted as a state-by-state roll call. Under proposed convention bylaws, delegates would be forced to register their votes on a tally sheet with the convention secretary — the rules could be altered or suspended before the start of the convention.
“By putting her name in nomination, you're putting people on the spot,” said former delegate counter Matt Seyfang, adding a second potential drawback: “Having a roll call ... just chews into your broadcast time.”
Lower-key options were available. For example, Clinton’s name could have been entered into nomination, followed by laudatory speeches, ending with her release of delegates to Obama and proposal that he be nomination by acclamation, Seyfang said.

Yeah...don't quite know what or how, but I suspect the Billarys are up to something. I mean it's just the way the Billarys are. Always trying to play something, or someone. If the Billarys were really interested in unifying the party and "working hard for Obama's election", the Billarys would have released her delegates long ago, and avoided this "entering her name in nomination" dog & pony show.
Since the birth certificate thing will likely be resolved as a non issue long before the convention, if the Billarys have an angle, or have a prayer, it will come from somewhere else.

First, I'll admit I haven't followed the birth certificate thing closely. Reason being, somewhere in my move 15 years ago, my boys' birth certificates must have been boxed incorrectly. I had new ones immediately...so-what's the holdup?
And roll call does bite into "broadcast time", but it isn't an all bad thing...it makes them commit publicly and on record.

There is no doubt that Hillary has some die hard supporters. I was not one of them, but I can understand their anger. She was crucified by the media and she was cheated out of the delegates in Florida and Michigan.

Maybe this will be "Operation Bloodbath" at the Dhimmi convention?? God, it was neat watching that party implode throughout the primary. Nothing would give me more joy than to see the remaining throngs of supporters of the "Big-eared One" pull out their Katana's and slice their guts when the show gets stolen from their Messiah.
Come on Hillary!!

The revolt is on the horizon. Buyers remorse after Stuttering Barry's performance Saturday is growing. Ed Rendell announced that he will place his vote for Hillary at the convention.
Look what Gov Strickland says about Barry -
FOR THE RECORD
Strickland's criticism of Obama is nothing new. He previously spent months campaigning against Illinois junior senator, calling him "fluff," suggesting he would be "disastrous for the country," and comparing him to an "American Idol" contestant:
Strickland Called Obama's Supporters Irrational.
"Gov. Ted Strickland has endorsed Clinton and is actively campaigning for her in Ohio, saying last week that he thinks Clinton is by far the more experienced candidate - and that some Obama supporters are 'following their heart without engaging their head in the process.'" (Mark Niquette, "One Win is Enough, Obama Says," Columbus Dispatch, 3/11/08)
Strickland Suggested Obama Would Be Disastrous.
"He acknowledged that Obama is connecting with voters but pointed to the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections, when some voters said they backed George W. Bush because he seemed like the kind of guy they could have a beer with. "We ended up with George W. Bush, and I think that's been disastrous for the country," Strickland said. (Mark Niquette, "Strickland: It's the Economy (Stupid)," Columbus Dispatch, 2/20/08)
Strickland Called Obama 'Fluff'.
"Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, a Clinton backer, says she'll win the Buckeye State. 'I don't think Ohio is going to be taken in by the fluff,' Strickland told The News in Cincinnati. 'I think it's a choice between a speech and a plan,' he said." (Michael McAuliff and Michael Saul, "In Wake of NIU Horror, Barack Obama & Hillary Clinton Back Arms Rights," NY Daily News, 2/16/08)
Strickland Called Obama's Plans "Just Political Rhetoric."
"Ohio Governor Ted Strickland said at a rally...with Clinton in Toledo that Obama's vow to renegotiate NAFTA and be tough on trade is 'just political rhetoric.'" (Foon Rhee, "Clinton Goes After Obama on NAFTA Meeting," Boston Globe, 3/3/08)
Strickland Said Obama Tried to Buy Ohio's Votes and Referred to Obama As A Fleeting Phenomenon.
"'Senator Obama is spending a lot of money on TV; if this can be purchased, he can win it,' Gov. Ted Strickland of Ohio, a Democrat who has campaigned across the state with Mrs. Clinton, said in an interview. 'I think we've survived the initial blast of the Obama phenomenon, and we're now holding steady.'" (Adam Nagourney, "Obama Spends Heavily to Seek Knockout Blow," New York Times, 3/2/08)
Strickland Suggested Obama Was More Suited For American Idol.
"...Ohioans should vote for Democrat Hillary Clinton because the March 4 primary is not about selecting the 'next American idol,' Strickland told reporters in Washington today, where he is attending the National Governors Association winter meeting.(Jonathan Riskind, "Strickland: Pick a President, Not an American Idol," Columbus Dispatch, 2/25/08)

From CNN
CNN) – Perhaps Ed Rendell's name can be officially scrapped from the list of potential VPs.
The Pennsylvania governor and fervent Hillary Clinton backer said Thursday he's planning to vote for the New York senator at the Democratic convention next week.
Rendell, who has been credited with helping to deliver his state to Clinton, told a Pennsylvania blog Monday that a vote for Clinton is not meant to show disunity.
"It honors the hard work of so many people who supported Sen. Clinton," he told PolitickerPA. "Many of the Pennsylvania delegates worked their heart out for Sen. Clinton, and they're excited to cast a vote for her. From my vantage point, that will be closure for them."
"Early on, I said I would cast my ballot for Sen. Clinton," he also said. "I'm going to cast my ballot for her, and then the moment I cast my vote, I'm going to continue to enthusiastically support Sen. Obama. It's going to be a good release for all of us."
Rendell has long said he would make a bad running mate, noting in an interview, "If I'm asked a question, I answer it and I tell the truth,” he said last February. "That probably isn't a good idea for someone who is the No. 2 on the ticket."

I doubt if there will be any big upsets at the convention, but you never know for sure, do you?
The parties are usually pretty much in control of whatever happens and obviously the democratic party helped the media put Obama in.

au contraire bj, there is an undercurrent of buyers remorse on the Dem side. It will be interesting.
They have also built a large gitmo style jail in Denver to cage all of the protesters that will be slamming the Democrats. It should be a circus
Shades of Chicago 1968.
