The crowd rose and applauded, some of them no doubt thinking he may have been alluding to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's ad lib during her vice presidential nomination acceptance speech last week, "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."

IMO whether you liked his pig comment or agreed with it or not in the end along with other comments he'll make and he will make more because he has no real substance to fall back on, it will end up costing him .....
reason most women can not handle them ... oh yes a woman like Palin can but most are not like her and they are not like men and think oh yeah gottcha like men will with those comments .... they will take offense even from his own party

It is just another sign of Obama's growing desperation. He lost his lead in the polls and his momentum. He has even lost his edge in money. It appears that he is going into panic mode, which will only make things worse for him. I'd say that he needs to get back on message, but other than saying change, he really has no message.
What it boils down to, is that in spite of there being a sitting repub president, with some of the lowest approval ratings in history, the dem candidate is once again doing all that he can to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Obama was turning the phrase back on McCain that McCain himself has used. From the Washington Post:
McCain himself used the exact same phrase to describe Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's health care plan just last year. "I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig," McCain said in October of 2007, describing Clinton's universal health care plan when she was running in the Democratic primary. He also, in February 2007, used the phrase to describe conflict over a resolution on the Iraq War. "It gets down to whether you support what is being done in this new strategy or you don't," McCain said at the time. "You can put lipstick on a pig, [but] it's still a pig, in my view." He no more called Palin a pig than Palin called "hockey moms" dogs by saying the only difference between them and a pitbull was lipstick.

I personally don't think that he intended to call Gov. Palin a pig but what this shows is that he has no idea what he is doing. It shows once more that this guy is an empty suit and that without his handlers telling him what to do and say, he is totally out of his depth. If he had any idea what he was doing he would not have made a comment that could be so easily misconstrued. There is no doubt that he was referencing Gov. Palin's comment regarding being a hockey mom. This is just another blunder from Oblunda. This added to the fool comment, made by Biden earlier in the day, saying that Gov. Palin's nomination is a step backwards for women, gives us a very entertaining ticket on the Dems side of the aisle.

So now you're telling us that, not only did Obama make a statement obviously directed at Palin, he had to steal it from McCain? Not only is he a stuffed shirt, he's not a very bright one. You'd think that all of his speech writers could come up with some new material. Then again, we often do quote those that we respect. So, in a way, he was showing his respect for McCain by making that comment. Thanks, Nightowl!
