Today marks the seventh anniversery of the 9-11 attacks, all arguments aside about the up coming election. Let's join together as one nation under God to remember the lost heros and their families.

I will never forget that morning and the site of the second plane hitting the World Trade Tower.

May God bless them.

And may God keep safe the brave men and women who are putting their lives on the line to exact retribution for the heinous crimes committed 7 years ago.

A salute to the police forces all over this great nation

A salute to the fire fighters all over this nation

A salute to the paramedics all over this nation

These people, daily, put their lives at risk to protect, serve and, in emergency situations, save us. Many of them gave their lives, on that fateful day 7 years ago, in an attempt to save those whose fate had already been determined by events earlier in the day. They ran into the burning buildings when everyone else was trying to leave. They are true heroes.

And let us not forget the heroes on flight 93. They were the first to strike back against the forces of Islamic Fascism. It was a democratic decision to retake that aircraft. LIVE FREE OR DIE! They chose the former and are heroes because of the latter. They sacrificed their lives to protect our Government and the lives of other Americans.

A salute to them all.

While we have the memories of the destruction and loss of life at the World Trade Center, don't lose sight of the heroic actions of a few normal men, who at a time of extraordinary stress made the ultimate sacrifice.

Two planes had hit the World Trade Center and a third had struck the Pentagon. A fourth had been hijacked and it was still in the air. Some of the brave men & women on that plane, refused to be a pawn at the hand of the terrorists. Yes, they knew that they were going to die, before they chose to act, but act they did. As a result, the mission of one of four groups of terrorists failed. The bravery, sacrifice and courage of these men & women, Todd Beamer, Jeffery Glick, Thomas Burnett & Mark Bingham (and perhaps others) should never be forgotten. I don't know how many lives they saved, but their actions were selfless & heroic. The words "Let's roll" should go down in history, to inspire future generations.

I was sitting in front of the computer working and had FOX news on very much in the background. My brother called me to tip me off...and I was then watching as plane #2 slammed into the World Trade Center. Then, I got pissed...

I will never forget what happened or who did it to us. We must remain vigilant against the ideology of these Muslim Extremists.

9-11 was not a hurricane or earthquake. It was an attack by an enemy that does not wear uniforms.

I also remember the aftermath of 9-11. Airports and Stock Markets shut down. Business grinding to a halt. Many lost jobs and billions of dollars were lost.

I have the deepest respect for people like George Bush that pledged to never forget and to do everything in his power to prevent another such attack. Against all criticism he and others displayed true courage while they indeed did everything in their power to prevent another such attack. Many plots and plans have been thwarted everywhere in the world since 9-11.

His promise has been fulfilled to the American people.

Our citizens have new responsibilities. We must be vigilant. Obviously, we must inspect our mail, and stay informed on public health matters. We will not give in to exaggerated fears or passing rumors. We will rely on good judgment and good, old common sense. We will care for those who have lost loved ones, and comfort those who might at times feel afraid.

We will not judge fellow Americans by appearance, ethnic background, or religious faith. We will defend the values of our country, and we will live by them. We will persevere in this struggle, no matter how long it takes to prevail.

Above all, we will live in a spirit of courage and optimism. Our nation was born in that spirit, as immigrants yearning for freedom courageously risked their lives in search of greater opportunity. That spirit of optimism and courage still beckons people across the world who want to come here. And that spirit of optimism and courage must guide those of us fortunate enough to live here.

Courage and optimism led the passengers on Flight 93 to rush their murderers to save lives on the ground. Led by a young man whose last known words were the Lord's Prayer and "Let's roll." He didn't know he had signed on for heroism when he boarded the plane that day. Some of our greatest moments have been acts of courage for which no one could have ever prepared.

We will always remember the words of that brave man, expressing the spirit of a great country. We will never forget all we have lost, and all we are fighting for. Ours is the cause of freedom. We've defeated freedom's enemies before, and we will defeat them again.

We cannot know every turn this battle will take. Yet we know our cause is just and our ultimate victory is assured. We will, no doubt, face new challenges. But we have our marching orders: My fellow Americans, let's roll.

We'll go forward from this moment

By Leonard Pitts
September 12, 2001

It's my job to have something to say.

They pay me to provide words that help make sense of that which troubles the American soul. But in this moment of airless shock when hot tears sting disbelieving eyes, the only thing I can find to say, the only words that seem to fit, must be addressed to the unknown author of this suffering.

You monster. You beast. You unspeakable bastard.

What lesson did you hope to teach us by your coward's attack on our World Trade Center, our Pentagon, us? What was it you hoped we would learn? Whatever it was, please know that you failed.

Did you want us to respect your cause? You just damned your cause.

Did you want to make us fear? You just steeled our resolve.

Did you want to tear us apart? You just brought us together.

Let me tell you about my people. We are a vast and quarrelsome family, a family rent by racial, social, political and class division, but a family nonetheless. We're frivolous, yes, capable of expending tremendous emotional energy on pop cultural minutiae -- a singer's revealing dress, a ball team's misfortune, a cartoon mouse. We're wealthy, too, spoiled by the ready availability of trinkets and material goods, and maybe because of that, we walk through life with a certain sense of blithe entitlement. We are fundamentally decent, though -- peace-loving and compassionate. We struggle to know the right thing and to do it. And we are, the overwhelming majority of us, people of faith, believers in a just and loving God.

Some people -- you, perhaps -- think that any or all of this makes us weak. You're mistaken. We are not weak. Indeed, we are strong in ways that cannot be measured by arsenals.

IN PAIN

Yes, we're in pain now. We are in mourning and we are in shock. We're still grappling with the unreality of the awful thing you did, still working to make ourselves understand that this isn't a special effect from some Hollywood blockbuster, isn't the plot development from a Tom Clancy novel. Both in terms of the awful scope of their ambition and the probable final death toll, your attacks are likely to go down as the worst acts of terrorism in the history of the United States and, probably, the history of the world. You've bloodied us as we have never been bloodied before.

But there's a gulf of difference between making us bloody and making us fall. This is the lesson Japan was taught to its bitter sorrow the last time anyone hit us this hard, the last time anyone brought us such abrupt and monumental pain. When roused, we are righteous in our outrage, terrible in our force. When provoked by this level of barbarism, we will bear any suffering, pay any cost, go to any length, in the pursuit of justice.

I tell you this without fear of contradiction. I know my people, as you, I think, do not. What I know reassures me. It also causes me to tremble with dread of the future.

In the days to come, there will be recrimination and accusation, fingers pointing to determine whose failure allowed this to happen and what can be done to prevent it from happening again. There will be heightened security, misguided talk of revoking basic freedoms. We'll go forward from this moment sobered, chastened, sad. But determined, too. Unimaginably determined.

THE STEEL IN US

You see, the steel in us is not always readily apparent. That aspect of our character is seldom understood by people who don't know us well. On this day, the family's bickering is put on hold.

As Americans we will weep, as Americans we will mourn, and as Americans, we will rise in defense of all that we cherish.

So I ask again: What was it you hoped to teach us? It occurs to me that maybe you just wanted us to know the depths of your hatred. If that's the case, consider the message received. And take this message in exchange: You don't know my people. You don't know what we're capable of. You don't know what you just started.

But you're about to learn.

As usual I got emotional during the moment of silence this morning, guess it will always be in our lives.
I don't want to rehash the days events anymore, but it was hectic needless to say..the numerous phone calls making sure friends and family were cleared out of the city, running around getting kids out of school.
I still remember the beautiful white doves that were released from the funeral I attended for one of the victims. The damage trickled down and damaged many, many lives here and still continues to cause havoc.

Yes, the plane that had the civilians on it that fought back is one I get so choked up about. Makes me wonder if I could have been so brave?

A day all Americans should never forget ! Our nation came together as One in the aftermath. Myself I remember at first is this real ? It was so hard to fathom.
Then I was mad as hell. All the innocent people dieing..and the trama that ran rapid through this great country we have !
It is sad it takes something like 9-11 to make people see the evil in this world. But then some relax and think..it is a one time deal. Terrorist will never go away, remember that !

GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!!
