A prominent backer of Hillary Clinton is endorsing McCain.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.
The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.
Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.
In an interview with CNN this summer, Forester did not hide her distaste for eventual Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.
“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don't like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”
Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.

That's important not for the person but for the sentiment as there will be a lot more like her doing the same thing. People liked Hillary. Not just for her party but for her, what she had done, put up with and, the way she thought and what she believed in.
It's not simply hating Obama nor is it endorsement of McCain, it's doing everything they can to get Hillary into the White House as leader. It's actually pretty pure in it's loyalty aspect. A purity that will, I believe, form the core of breaking the Republican/looney left stranglehold on politics in the next election.

According to a recent Gallup poll, about 14% of Republicans have indicated they will vote for Obama over McCain and 12% of Democrats support McCain.
There are quite a few prominent Republicans who are openly supporting Obama, both with endorsements and money. They include:

*Lincoln Chafee, former Senator (now an independent)
*Lowell Weicker, former Senator and Governor of CT

In her statement today Rothschild quotes Ronald Reagan -
Watching Wolf Blitzer as he interviewed a big Hillary supporter, Ms Rothschild, and Wolf grilled her and she ended with the Ronald Reagan quote, "I didn't leave the demcorat party, the democart party left me". Wolf even stated that she was going to get a lot of flack, but she was strong.

Hey Vinny....
Can you really blame her for bailing on him?
Obama is like the Titanic...when his voyage set sail for the oval office...his star was bright and he seemed like a fresh change of pace.
However, half way through his journey...his shine is starting to tarnish bad. The erotic euphoric effect of this rock star like candidacy is fading very fast.
His run for the oval office mears the design flaw of the Titanic. During the summer months when his lead in the polls was pretty much in double digits...he seemed unsinkable. Now however, in the fall months when more and more people are starting to pay attention to the race, and they've had more time to digest the thought of his presidency...they don't like the aroma of the idea.
His campaign is taking on water very fast and he's going down by the bow. The waters of reason are spilling over the bulkhead and flooding each compartment fast. The sooner we can get to his stern going under...the better we'll all be!!

This also is quite interesting. While it is not as recent, they cite a survey which says that 1/3 of Hillary supporters plan to stay home on election day. If so that could make things very difficult for Obama in the swing states.

Wick Allison, who's resume includes organizing a Youth for Goldwater chapter and a stint as publisher at the conservative National Review, announced today that he was endorsing Barak Obama.
As Mr. Allison said in his endorsement, he doesn't agree with Obama on many issues, but he finds him to be pragmatic and prudent man.
