Which ones do you trust? The Times? Post? Katie Couric?

Why?

One should always have reservations when tuned into selectives of profit and non-profit mass media.

Then, what "drives" a person to be very adamant about 1 candidate? (or 2)

loreli - some of your gang here think that people that post on BLOGS are reliable sources.

Lost their minds.

This practice is limited to smut against Sarah Palin. Had a blog post contained smut about Barry Obama it is NOT a valid source.

LIBERALS GONE WILD!

I have no idea what the blog comment is about, and I'm not a "fair weather" voter.
Neither of you 2 can answer, because you twist quoted info.
You got cameras, recorders, and side-by-side beds up yer butt or something?

Before one can trust any news source he or she should take University level courses in Political Science, Economics, Sociology and Anthropology, World Politics, Western Civilization History, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Business Law and any other supporting courses in humanities and social sciences which a higher institution of learning can offer. Taking courses like these can give you a correct sense of when you are being bullsh!tted to and when you aren't.

Many people misinterpret the news or are easily mesmerized by plastic personalities fixated to a teleprompter chanting a pre-scripted dialog of whatever makes the rating increase or whatever is in the best interest of the CEO or shareholders of a news television corporation.

Douchebags like Rupert Murdoch don't allow field reporters to report truthful news. His direction for news broadcasting is bullsh!t at it's finest.

Spoken like a true Communist.

FOX news is the ONLY conservative viewpoint left on television.

All of the rest are decidedly socialist, Liberal or near Communist.

However...FOX kicks everyone elses ass in ratings and I am LMMFAO.

Rev. Manning is always good, but I am one of those white women that likes Whoopi Goldberg. I was also wondering why I have not seen Michelle around lately.Has Obama and his team really put her away so she cant screw up in front of the camera anymore?

Arieann,

Mrs. Obama has been speaking in key battleground states. She was in your state of North Carolina this past week as well as Virginia.

Back to the topic of the OP:

I read several newspapers online NY Times and the Washington Post, the UK's Guardian, Le Monde, The Local (Swedish), and the English language version of Deutsche Welle. I also look at the Chicago Tribune and the LA Times. I look at Huffington Post, Hinesight, and RawStory (which have original content, but are all primarily news accumulators).

Baloney! No one needs all of that just to understand what people say or where they position themselves.

Loreli I made my decision based on what the candidates say right out of their mouths, their actions, and the core beliefs that they stand for as leaders of their parties.

All are decidedly Liberal/Socialist/Marxist.

No surprises here

I listen to many sources except anything associated to Rupert Murdoch! I also read many sources throughout the day! I would suggest that for everyone that is concerned about the truth. Because that is what the media, print-digital or over the air is supposed to be presenting!

I read several foreign sources, English language from German and French sites, and lots of our own plus, British and Canadian, as well!

I have found, unless you reading comprehension and understanding is compromised, that sources such as, CBS, MSNBC, NBC, the New York Times and the Washington Post, to name a few, are as truthful as can be found anywhere!

I do admit Katie Couric is my pick for Nightly News! I like her honesty!

I think you are more likely to get to the truth, the farther you stay away from the for-profit corporate media.
Seek out independent not for profit media.

Personally I watch PBS

[Political and current affairs shows on PBS that I like are Bill Moyers, Now, Independent Lens, P.O.V and Frontline.

Also, I listen to these below on the radio or you can find them on the web.
AternativeRadio.org
DemocracyNow.org
Your local college radio stations.

I like 60 minutes, yes it's corporate media, but strangely enough, it's a pretty good show.

Oh yeah, I like Terry Gross on NPR radio

Fox, Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Levin, Beck, and NONE of the leftist mainline "drive by" print or broadcast propaganda mills, each of whom I regard as being even worse than a child molester (child molesters hurt individuals and their families but the leftist propaganda mills hurt the entire nation!).

I don't really trust any of them. Everyone has an opinion and every story is biased by that opinion. When possible, I like to see the original source material, without it being parsed by the press. While that is skewed by the politics/beliefs of the writer/speaker, at least it is their own bias that I am interpreting, not that of others.
