If you have some good reasons for why you think I should vote for your chosen candidate then feel free to post here. Tell me why I should vote for your candidate.

Sorry. I'm not actually supporting a candidate, so have no real answer. I will most likely vote for Obama simply because he's NOT McCain. (I wouldn't call that support and I won't characterize it as a good reason.)

I had already posted mine on a previous thread, so I will copy/paste it here...

*************************************************************************************************
I have not and do not vote or lean towards a particular party, but rather weigh out the balance of what candidate(s) best hold promises of truth with honor and adoration for growth of our country and her needs.

When choosing a candidate, I realized a couple months ago, that I was choosing to suit my own needs and wants and tried to fit the candidate in my mold. As the last couple of months had passed, focused on my surroundings and the wider scope of our country's needs; our neighbors, friends, family. To the veteran rolling his wheel chair down the side walk and the lastest amber alert of a missing child. Then the corporations that move to another country and the employment line goes out the door. Social Security, Healthcare, Economy, Crime and National/International Relations. These are all things that we are involved with either directly or indirectly.

Senator Barak Obama:
I have followed Senator Obama respectfully since 2000. Listened to his speeches; where he went and what he has accomplished in his history. He has potential and stamina for some important issues, but I have ended up asking more questions than received answers. Senator Obama when you said, "Tear Down That Wall" you didn't say it to our country, but shouted it in another. You plagiarised former Reagan's inaugural speech motto and made it your own, sir you stood upon respect and shunned charactor of judgement. I have concerns for your inconsistant stabilities and lack of progress in your current political position as Senator, and I have great concerns of your communist history involvements. Your well defined speeches offered me little as an individual, for when you speak, you only address your race and not all ethnics as a whole. Malcome X would have been proud of you. Sir Obama, racism is in the minds of activists and they are of all color and ethnics. When you made the decision to step up on stage and say I want to be the next president of the United States of America, your heart was not in it for the long haul and for all that live in this country. There is no black, white or even red to be divided, but there is a neighbor, Father, Brother, Mother, Daughter and Son to be brought together in the mix. You praise for "change" and I have heard your message. I am concerned as to where my family, myself and community will fit into your change, what ever it might be. What you will bring to the Whitehouse is unclear and foreign beyond recognition for what historial America was and is known for.

I am not concerned that Senator Obama promises tax cuts, for every president candidate has promised this. It's all in balancing the budget that starts at the top and currently some of the funds have just run out. One particular eye opener for me on Senator Obama, was something morally he stated in April this year...

"I've got two daughters, 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."
Grant it, I am a divorced Mother and am a Grandmother of 6, a law abiding citizen and work for a living. Raised 5 girls, which 2 of them are my own and one had a her first child at age 17. I never told her she made a mistake, I told her she made an adult decision and was faced with adult responsibilities.

A child is a blessing, not a punishment no matter the circumstance. And Senator Obama you do not know what the future will hold for you and your family.

Senator Joe Biden:
Senator Biden...sir I regretfully, but respectfully have not known you as well as I should have, but am greatful for your recent success against HIV/Aids, which kills thousands of Americans each year. Have admiration for your education proposals for our younger generations need all the education we can give them for preperation for our country's successful tomorrow. Drug trafficking is a major problem in our country and you have made a dent that has improved enforcement, which advanced the reduction of drug international quantity to our country. And you implimented advancement for drug addicted recipients. Senator Biden , you have strong leadership qualities and a coherant package bound; Not only have you addressed problems, but you aim to solve them thoroughly upon completion. I feel your unemployment ideas bring more questions to my mind, for it is not good to have those that need and want to work sit at home worrying and pacing the floors wondering if they can pay their bills and feed their families tomorrow. Sir, you would be an asset to the whitehouse, but am concerned of where your problem solving glass sits on international relations.

Continuing...

John McCain:
I have observed Senator McCain since the Viet Nam war. I lost family and friends in this conflict. I was there at the T.V. when Senator McCain's plane crashed; I was there watching him when he returned hobbling on crutches from Hanoi. I praised in blessedness of his bills that passed law of Congress. And I visited the book store to buy his memoir books.

Senator McCain's age does not concern me; He has kept up the stamina of presidential election debate, conventions and other political support ciriculums He still maintains his current job position faithfully. He has traveled in a day from one state to another and presents his contribution efforts to each table and podium. He stand on the stage just as long as the others and his smile is endless. His mom Roberta has to tell him "don't get emotional"...lol. I admire Senator McCain for giving himself to us in this candidate opportunity; he could have retired years ago, but didn't for he is financially blessed.

He really does love our country and wants to progress forward with us all the way; every step, and every hour he can muster. He is not a god, he is just a man that wants to serve his country and do what is best for each of us and our communities as well as our future generations. Senator McCain is apologetic; he has publically apologized when he errored, and through his apologies, he learned by his past mistakes and did not make them again; he strengthened where he was weak.

Senator McCain I believed truely in you when you said, "Country First." For I have been one small citizen that has followed you since the 70's and you always put our country first while your hand rested upon your heart.

Governess Sarah Palin:
I have no concern of Senator McCain's running VP mate Sarah Palin. If elected, I believe she has the best sidekick any VP could have. She has much to learn and she has learned much. Governess Palin has my adoration and respect for all she has done in Alaska and for Alaska. She had her ups and downs and she was voted for re-election. She is a woman, Wife, Mother and now a soon to be Grandmother. She has a husband that has fully supported her career and continues to do so. Mr. Palin has been there by her side through this intense election. Sarah is not afraid of anything, she has high integredy and stands up straight with dignity to fight for justice with valuable cause. She will bring a multitude of assets to the whitehouse and she wears red with pride. Sarah maintains her current Governess position daily in Alaska and impliments status quo issues at hand to her state. Governess Sarah, it's not just your words that brought my attention to you, it was when you raised your arm and gave us your fist that we are a strong and powerful nation and we can do anything to change what we don't want and like.

Commentary:
Our country is $10 trillion in debt, and one man or woman alone can not liquidate this debt. It takes a team effort for all and it takes time in years to accomplish the elimination of zeros.

Our country is still in war zone territory, this effects our families ourselves and our bank accounts. It effects our home comfort in security and stability of independance. War takes away lives and it gives sorrow to the survived families and to the surviving maimed. War is costly and it never returns any amount of reward payment.

Our country is overly in abundance of unwelcomed crime, and poverty; they have proven to run hand in hand. These unwelcomes will never dissolve, but they can be addressed to much reduction and it's an on going progress of actions for effective results that takes every citizen to do part.

Thank you to all readers of my post and may your vote this election gives positive benefits and surity of dreams to you and your families.

Libertarian here, but becoming a little less fiscally conservative after the latest lesson in the dark side of deregulation.

Unfortunately I don't have a horse in this race. I'm apparently one of the few people who are scared to death about where this country's headed. We're about to hit a deficit for this year of about a trillion dollars, while the interest on our current debt stands at half a trillion a year - everyone wants a strong military, but how strong is strong enough? Right now our military budget is larger than the next twelve nations' below us combined. John McCain's comment about the fundamentals of the economy being strong was simply a parroting of the same Bush mantra we've been listening to for years now. What fundamentals? Balance of trade? We buy more than we sell. Jobs? We need about100K new jobs a month to keep the economy chugging properly, but instead we're LOSING about 75K jobs monthly. You can raise or lower taxes all you want, but if people don't have jobs, they won't be paying ANY taxes. Of course we'll just borrow more money from China to fund our thirst for military adventures - since John McCain's only apparent claim to presidential competence is 'the surge', it would be in his best interest for us to remain at war, and even expand to yet another front if possible. I'd feel a lot more comfortable with an economist at the helm right now.

Scientifically we're becoming a joke to the rest of the world. Creationism and 'christian' values seem to be considered more important than anything resembling research. Good research starts with a hypothesis and works from there, those who treat the bible as the inerrant word of God don't have that luxury. They have to accept it as fact that there were giants, and angels, and demons, and that God created Adam from dust and Eve from one of his ribs. This was founded as a secular country and it's what made us great - if you want creationism taught in your schools, and sex education limited to preaching abstinence as opposed to facts about birth control, vote for Sarah...but don't be surprised when teenage pregnancies and abortions go up. You can bet on that one.

you would think as a christian i would be upset that no one on the campaign trail is using the word christian, to the contrary, such a lack of such useage strengthens my christianity. there are few true christians and those of us that are tend to shy away from the holyrollers and motivational speakers. the worldly sheep will always protect the wolves that will lay waste unto them. listen to them, do they use the word christian? at least one half of the time? do they quote Jesus or do they quote every other pseudochristian! every aspect of discussion in the politics and current events is easily decided by simple right and wrong. if you are unable to distinguish between right and wrong, go to your mom and dad and ask them. they have been there and back. i doubt if anyone will have an opinion you could trust any better about right and wrong. of course i tended to ask my mom, dad was a druggie and his mind was rarely on anything else LOL we be jammin

I guess if you had to pigeon hole me I'd be kind of Libertarian lite...I believe there is a little more usefulness to the Govt. than just protecting the borders and keeping the potholes filled...And I believe arguing over the virtues of repubs vs dems is like arguing over which of 2 piles of really raunchy, stinking, rancid shit smells worse or better than the other...and actually believing one does!!

That being said, I'll vote for McCain, pretty much because Obama is a raving liberal and as well meaning as some liberals are, I disagree with them on most everything. I don't think it will matter though...I still believe it will be Obama by 3-5 points...

And I don't think the country will crumble or the world come to an end if he does...and I don't think it will affect me that much personally one way or the other...I have a few $$ in the bank and a few guns in my safe and don't owe a dime to anyone...so I figure as long as I stock up on ammo before the election I'm good to go!!

And frankly, if I'm right, I'm sure I'll get a few really good laughs seeing all the kneejerk whiny writings from our friends way to the right on here as Obama hears Hail To The Chief for the first time......
