McCain Brother Calls Northern Virginia 'Communist Country'
WASHINGTON: Joe McCain equates Washington suburbs, where Barack Obama leads, to enemy territory.
He supposedly meant this as a joke..
Wow, so now Northern Virginia is full of Communists! Who woulda thought!!
Go, Joe, that is the way to win votes for your brother in a state that is already leaning towards Obama, although it is traditionally a Republican stronghold.

Katie..stop phishing and read the news. McCain has already been to Virginia In September. 23,000 people rallied in Fairfax He's now going to be in Florida for a few days. Check his home page Calendar.
BTW, everybody knows John's brother Joe is a stage actor, including Virginia.

Article "I was in either Arlington or Alexandria, up in communist country," Joe McCain, a Navy veteran, said about his military postings. Obama is being helped by fast-growing communities in the Washington, D.C., suburbs of Northern Virginia, which tend to vote more Democratic than other parts of the state.
While this is pretty harmless as it is referral to a small Democratic area of Virginia and guaranteed to go over well with the rest of the State his campaign is flattening out. Unless there is a semi miracle Obama is going to take him with little difficulty.

Considering that Northern Virginia has the largest population density, I would think this would not be very politic of his brother, even if it was supposed to be a joke. As I live in this area of Virginia, I find it highly offensive, personally.

Considering his brother, John, owns a condo up here:
One of those areas is Arlington, Va., where John McCain owns a condominium.

And I hate to disagree with you, but where I live is considered part of Northern Virginia, Angel. His comment was that he was either in Alexandria or Arlington.. which, by the way, is the National Cemetary.. 
I do take offense, and I am sure other Northern Virginians will, too.

Yep, it's looking like Barack Obama will probably carry Virginia -- the capital of the former Confederacy. The tracking polls show Obama holding his lead over McCain.
While there have certainly been huge changes in the sheer number of people in Northern Virginia, it is not the only area within the state where Obama will pull votes. Richmond, Roanoke, and even the Tidewater are also in the Obama column -- similar voting patterns which put him over the top in the primary. Furthermore, Obama will be helped in this state by reverse coattails. Mark Warner, no relation to the man he will replace John Warner, is far ahead of his Republican opponent, Jim Gilmore.
