A new Oliver Stone movie is to be released on Oct. 17, about George W. Bush. Although some parts of it look entertaining, I personally think this movie should not be released until after the election. Sure most will have their minds made up by then, but for those not decided yet, seeing this movie could be what makes them decide to vote against any Republican candidate who might be remotely connected to our soon to be former President. What say you?

Have I seen it?
You bet!
ReviewI laughed, I cried, I glowed within myself as I drank in the beauty of the world of 'W' with all it's magical splendor. Rarely has a movie come along that makes you want to jump inside of it to live the dream, the ecstasy, the world which is GW Bush.
The introspective look inside of the man whom many have called the 'Greatest President' shows a unique side of the subject. From his jubilant victory over Al Gore and the horror of 911 to his weeping in sorrow of the news of Saddam Husseins death, this movie tells it all.
Stone brings forth a majesty to his characters with Cheny artfully played by Brad Pit (who actually at times, was callng the shots on stage with Bush (played by Burgess Merideth). The movie takes us from Georges humble beginnings as the son of a transient sharecropper during the depression and into the violence of the Second World War where he earned his distinguished flying crosses.
In all, 'W' says it all. It will be remembered as one of the greatest movies since Will Smith's 'The Greatest.'

I was watching one of the JFK shows a few weeks ago, and some guy stated, " a lot of very intelligent young people went to see the movie JFK, and left thinking most of it was true, even though Mr. Stone readily admitted he took liberty with some of the facts ".

You must get to see some movies in Canada before we do. We have to wait until Oct. 17, and yes, I can't wait to see it!
(had to use the pencil twice....geesh, I'll get it together yet...lol)

All of Stones films are phony. After paying to see "Born on the 4th of July" and then finding out that it was 90% fiction I will not waste my time or money on anything that Stone does.

Oliver is Stoned. His best work isn't worthy of taking a good dump on.

I had to live through the 8 year stain on history, why would I want to revisit it on film? No, once is enough thank you.
Edited to add, Bush isn't running, and the closest thing to him (Rudy Guiliani) was never an option for any rational human being. So no, the movie won't affect my vote. The next debate will however.

What is Christmac Carol.. the Dickens one? Somehow I suspect it isn't though..
Won't go see W, as kjac said, I had to live through the last 8 years, the sooner he is out, the better
by the way, did you see the Olympic athletes in front of the White House today? They looked so happy to be there as a backdrop to Bush..

Oh, that one.. no, don't think I will waste money on that.. wait for it on DVD..
There are very few movies that are worth the $9. for the ticket and more if you want a drink.. renting it on DVD is cheaper and I can pause it at home to run to the powder room!
