Perhaps there are SOME out there who are beginning to get
'the picture'. The following is a narrative taken from
Sunday
Morning's televised 'Meet the Press from September
7,2008'; and the author is employed by none other than the
Washington Post!! Yeah......the Washington Post of New
York and Los Angeles Times fame!! Must say that I'm
dually impressed..................

From Sunday's Televised 'Meet the Press'
Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag.
Obama Explains National Anthem Stance Sun, 07 Sept. 2008
11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked Obama
to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the
National Anthem is played. The General also stated to the
Senator that according to the United States Code, Title
36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... During rendition of the
national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in
uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag
with the right hand over the heart.

At the very least, 'Stand and Face It' Senator Obama Live
on Sunday states, 'As I've said about the flag pin, I
don't want to be perceived as taking sides,' Obama said.
'There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag
is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys
a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air
and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial
and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Llike to Teach the World
To Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.'

'We should consider to reinvent our National Anthem as
well as to redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies
hope and
love. It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America
to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren.
If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct
ourselves as the nations of Islam, whereas peace
prevails (you've got to be kidding!!!!!!!); perhaps a
state or period of mutual concord would exist between our governments.
When (not if) I become President, I will seek a pact or
agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war
or in a state of enmity, and create a freedom from
disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the
nations of Islam an unfair injustice. My wife disrespects
the Flag for many personal reasons. Together she and I have
attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past,
many years ago. She has her views and I have mine'.
Of course now, I have found myself about to become the
President of the United States and I have put aside
my hatred. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this
Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope.
My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's
First Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the
United States of America.'

You've got to be kidding!!!!!!! !!! Yes, ladies and
gentlemen, you heard it right. This traitor could possibly be our
next President. I, for one, am speechless.

Dale Lindsborg,

Washington Post

Unbelievable! Anyone that supports such insanity I can only wonder why in the world they even want to live here. Too bad our founders are not here now. I am sure they would have a thing or two to say about people such as this.

Senator Obama wasn't on Meet the Press on Sunday, 09-07-2008. It was hosted by Tom Brokaw and his guest was Senator Biden for most of the hour. He was followed by an author named Friedman. Your "article" has already been debunked by Snopes. Obama on National Anthem

I even heard Obama correct someone when they highly criticized McCain by saying, "Now there's no need for that." I too thought that was admirable, but it didn't last long, he's back to his SOS...

Obama doesn't mention McCain's time with Keating, or his cheating on his first wife... His lying about his age to Cindy... I heard Cindy say she didn't know his true age until she saw it in the newspaper..

Well, you Dems can gloat all you want IF your candidate wins, but we Reps would like nothing better than to laugh back at you as this country slowly sinks because of your candidate. We can point at you and say, "Told you so" or "Blame yourselves , except we'll be in that same sinking boat with you.

As usual, you only pick and choose what you want out of someone's post. How about reading the whole thing before you flip your gums.......

You DO know that it's not a light switch, right? Once a president-elect enters the White House, everything that happens ISN'T immediately their fault, right?

There is such a thing as time. Bad things that happen aren't always from immediate causes. Quite a lot of what is going to go wrong over the next four years can be traced to the idiotic candidates you Republicans elected over that six-year stretch.

So before you gloat, remember: The majority of the blame still rests with Republicans. All the bad decisions will continue to reverberate for years to come. Hopefully, the Democrats can cure some of the ills of brain-dead Republican policies. (Sadly, however, they'll add their own batch of brain-dead policies...)

As an (R) who has voted already, and voted (D)....IF 'my' candidate wins and the country slowly sinks (further than it already has), I'll kick myself and do what I can to make the best of whatever the situation is. IF 'your' candidate wins and the country slowly sinks (further than it already has), I'll make the best of whatever the situation is. I would like nothing better than to find this country improved after four years, no matter who wins this election.

At the end of the day, whether we sink or swim, shouldn't we all be (A) for American?

That certainly would be my hope and desire. Unfortunately there are many in this nation, and some in this forum, who are anti-A.

I think that some of the Obama supporters might learn to read and read Obama's own books... Since when is it unacceptable to be a proud American and proud of our Flag, or pledge and our National Anthem... Do any of you realize that those are symbols of our sovereignty that the socialists and other communatarian ideologues are intent upon destroying..?? Where is common sense these days"

You see character is what's shown when the public is not looking. There were no cameras or press invited to what you are about to read about, and the story comes from one person in New Hampshire . One evening last July, Senator John McCain of Arizona arrived at the New Hampshire home of Erin Flanagan for sandwiches, chocolate-chip cookies and a heartfelt talk about Iraq . They had met at a presidential debate, when she asked the candidates what they would do to bring home American soldiers, soldiers like her brother, who had been killed in action a few months earlier.
Mr. McCain did not bring cameras or press. Instead, he brought his youngest son, James McCain, 19, then a private first class in the Marine Corps about to leave for Iraq . Father and son sat down to hear more about Ms. Flanagan's brother Michael Cleary, a 24-year-old Army First Lieutenant killed by an ambush a roadside bomb.
No one mentioned the obvious: In just days, Jimmy McCain could face similar perils. 'I can't imagine what it must have been like for them as they were coming to meet with a family that Ms. Flanagan recalled, choking up. 'We lost a dear one,' she finished.
Mr. McCain, now the Republican nominee, has staked his candidacy on the promise that American troops can bring stability to Iraq . What he almost never says is that one of them is his own son, who spent seven months patrolling Anbar Province and learned of his father's New Hampshire victory in January while he was digging a stuck military vehicle out of the mud.

Two of Jimmy's three older brothers went into the military. Doug McCain, 48, was a Navy pilot. Jack McCain, 21, is to graduate from the Naval Academy next year, raising the chances that his father, if elected, could become the first president since Dwight D. Eisenhower with a son at war.

Has anybody heard if Barack Hussein Obama has served in The American Armed Services? This is for all you Barack voters.
From Barack's book, Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

HE DID NOT SAY STAND WITH AMERICANS!!!!!!!

Actual quote from "The Audacity of Hope" [pg. 261]:
Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.

Correct me if I'm wrong (ha ha...as if someone wouldn't do that, anyway), but I do not see the word Muslim. What I do see is a reference to Arab and Pakistani Americans.
