I'm all for bringing back the draft for young people... how about you?
Would do no harm for ALL youngings to serve in our military 2-4 years before entering the work world....
That is one change I believe Obama will come through with.
and.......
I'm all for it.

Tatianna question have you served in the armed forces?how can you believe that a draft would be good for this country.I served and i would be scared to death of being in hole with someone who did not want to be there when the shit hits the fan.

In many countries when people get out of high school, sometimes sooner...
they are REQUIRED to go in the service...
In USA we do not but >>> I think it would be a great idea.
how about you? good idea or bad one to have all kids do military time as they do
in other countries?
You know Obama's change will involve that.... the one good thing to come from him.
Obama is for more govt and more govt control... so a draft is kinda next in line.
Yeah for the draft, keep these kids off the streets and give them some work skills !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel its CRITICAL its military service.
After all, someone has to defend this country... leave the cleaning up
trash on the side of the highway to jail in-mates ....
leave the military to teach/ train and help start out the young people who are going somewhere ( besides jail)
yeah to bringing back the MILITARY draft !!!!!!!!!!... one change Obama will surely
come through with !!! ( MAYBE THE ONLY GOOD THING HE WILL DO)

I'm definitely for change. First we can get rid of the lobbyists, get rid of exorbitent expenditures by the Democrats like Nancy Pelosi's purchase of a 200 passenger jet to get her from DC back to LA nonstop for her 3 day job at the expense of the tax payers, we can also get rid of welfare fraud, we can make sure that abortion does not become the household word for teaching our children that sexual responsibility and stem cell research are just an abortion center away.
We can do away with these expensive election campaigns by both parties and allow candidates to run on equal time, complete transparency of voting records as well as personal records so as to insure integrity and keeping hidden agendas to a minimum.
We can make sure the socialist teaching are not associated with candidacy or educational programs to young people so the the original intent of our forefathers is not diluted or perverted as Democratic policies have promoted with big government and dependency upon handouts.
Corporations should be kept at arm's length from government officials. This would be hard to enforce, but it's necessary Republicans and Democrats need to watched on this one.
I would like to add more, but this will be good for starters. My envoy for reform is leaving for Capitol Hill in the morning. Wish me luck!

there is a famous painting, and an old Russian tale of a sleigh being chased by wolves, and the driver has to throw the passengers one, by one to the wolves... that is selective service, or the draft...
I am a firm believer in service to our country, service to our fellow man, service to our family and friends... but those things are voluntary... as is our military... and our donations of time or money to the betterment of society...
I have never understood how people against Taxes, (forced giving) could be for a draft or selective service, (forced sacrifice)
it is much more showing of the character of a person, by their deeds and actions, rather than what they are conscripted or forced into....

I was in the military. I, for one, would not want someone there who was 'drafted'. As someone else so eloquently said here, they will be looking for a way out, not looking after my back. I would not want my sons to be fighting next to a man or woman who was forced to be there against their will. Who would be keeping my son safe? Certainly not the person who wanted out.

I'm not a Saint, but I'm no hypocrit. I don't believe Obama can change everything but I do believe that the rich is not going to continue to rob the poor and use them while wages decrease and take their health insurance and send their jobs over seas. McCain would not even say that he would close the loopholes that allow the corporations to send jobs over seas.
Why do you act like redistribution of wealth is such a new concept? Republicans have run a very negative campaign and now people are more afraid of reality than the fear mongering that Republicans have used so well with Karl Rove and Bush.
Are you so naive that you believe that the rich dont' find evey loophole possible to pay the least amount of taxes possible? The amount of the deficit doesn't bother you with the state of the economy. You just can't accept that trickle down failed AGAIN. Yep, put us right in a recession. McConfused embraces all of this and all he can do is continually make negative statements about Obama. Most people can see that the old man doesn't have a plan and will not do anything better or different than Bush.
Do you even watch the news? We continue losing jobs. I just saw that GDP is -3.
So why is this happening Einstein? The top 1% of the rich is getting richer and richer and the middleclass and poor are getting poorer. McCain is out of touch with reality and such a negative liar. He should lay down and take a nap, he is so grumpy, and try to restore some respect if he does go back to the Senate.
