TIPP: Obama 51.5%, McCain 44.3%, Third-Party 4.2% (Without allocation of undecideds: Obama 47.5%, McCain 42.4%, Third-Party 4.1%, with 6% undecided.)

Zogby: Obama 54.1%, McCain 42.7%, Third-Party 3.1%

Realclearpolitics: Obama 52.0%, McCain 44.2%, Third-Party/Undecided 3.8%

Rasmussen: Obama 52.0%, McCain 46.0%, Third-Party/Undecided 2.0%

Those are the four pollsters that have been bantered around the forum for the last six months. Does anyone care to add any more?

Everyone, by now, knows my interpretation of these results. This is an over-reaction of the American voters to eight years of power-mad neo-cons and their failed policies. There's no other way that someone as inexperienced and far-left as Obama would have won, nor was there any other way that the Dems could be making their historic gains in Congress and likely at the state levels as well.

I hope this will serve as a lesson to our more extremist members (of BOTH parties). When you vote in nutters, expect the moderate majority of voters to desire change.

And now I remind our right-wing members: For eight years, we've been told it's our patriotic duty to support our president, and that criticism of the president weakens us in the eyes of foreign nations. Does that still apply now that Obama will likely be sworn in come January?

Shocking how Obama is leading. Says a lot about this country and its citizens... none of which is good.

It's not shocking, Tats. Distressing, true. But completely expected.

What remains to be seen is if the Democrats can pull towards the moderate majority, and retain their gains come the next two elections (2010 and 2012). I don't think they will, because this wasn't a correction. This was an over-reaction.

I can see a huge upheaval coming as the dems aren't going to make things better... but worse.

All that 2012 talk, seems to be making sense to me.

I am now feeling my ideas to move to a remote tourist town, most likey a ski resort town is making more and more sense.... to avoid the rioting and madness of the bigger cities as people revolt against the democrats in power who will cripple us not only as a nation but for many too on a personal level, mostly those who took any of the dems campaign seriously and are actually EXPECTING any GOOD CHANGES...

because there won't be any.

With all the bluster about the Bradley effect and liberal biased polls, it'll be curious how closely the actual numbers are to the polls. With all the final polls right here, a comparison will be easy.

It is sad to think that you will not even give the Democrats a chance, Tat.

We have had to put up with the last 8 years of Republican rule, couldn't you at least give it a chance before you condemn us? We just might surprise you, you know?

It doesn't look like she has much of a choice in the matter katie. Like it or not, come January, the dems will have as much control as Junior did his first six years. And we all saw how that went.

I thought this would be interesting in confirming why the voters have been going over to Obama!

Americans believe "Spreading the Wealth" is a very good idea!

I'm hoping for the best, as usual. Obama's changed considerably over the course of the campaign, and he seems to be willing to consider options - as well as spending a lot of time talking to Bill Clinton and other centrists. He may have seemed far left while he was building his base, but he seems to be moving more to the center as he's trying to draw in the centrists and independents. Actually this seems to be the biggest difference between him and McCain to me - McCain brought Palin on board to consolidate the base, but never made a move to attract centrists. Just telling everybody that Obama's someone to be afraid of (and then contradictng himself on that too) isn't an effective way to get people to buy what you're selling.

Taxes are going to go up eventually, they'll have to as the economy shrinks and it gets harder for them to borrow. I'm hoping that we end up funding projects that will help build our own infrastructure while we're generating jobs and hopefully getting the economy to expand again. I have nothing against a free market, but we really don't have one. Our balance of trade sucks, and we need someone to look at the reasons why instead of just giving away the store with more and more free trade agreements. I don't know that Obama's administration will do whast I want to see done, but as I've said before, I know damned well that a McCain administration wouldn't.

And I agree with Custis - seeing that we're finally reaching a point where we're making choices on issues instead of color or gender is a very good thing!

No matter what, it does not look like Obama will go down in history as a great president. His changing promises will not be well taken by his followers.

Well, IF he's elected, we'll see how he fares at the end of his tenure. G.W.Bush is currently at a 32-34% approval rating, which shouldn't be too hard to beat.

Gotta love McCain....
he was interviewed on The Early Show...when she said there is a lot of talk if Obama gets in we should all be scared.
McCain seemed angry and said that is NOT true....I just don't feel he it right to lead the country because he's far left.

NOT terrorist

So he'll go down in the bottom ten? Just like his predecessor, Bush?

Jonnie-boy is back-tracking Loreli. Normally they wait until after the election for that. But since he already knows he's lost...

Personally I will wait till it is over before I count my chickens.

Shocking how Obama is leading. Says a lot about this country and its citizens... none of which is good

I dont see how you can EVER say this after what BushCo has done to this country...none of which is good

I really could care less which party gets it BUT I do care about this country and KNOW that the past 8 years has been nothing short of a nightmare. So do I want change, yes but I want change that will help this country get back on track and this will NEVER happen with the current mindset of the far right which is TAKE AT ANY COST (short version )

Oh argue any point you wish but as they say...the proof in is the pudding and to me the current batch of pudding has curdled. I mean god, people will keep eating it because it is THEIR brand, forget the taste and what it is doing to your body instead CHOW DOWN

Whatever the result, whatever one thinks of either candidate, remember "that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."
