young people, first-time voters( like myself) have talked the talk through out these past two years, are they going to walk the walk today by making sure that their voices are heard?

who are going to decide this election? old, not-so old folks, young people or...?

what state is going to decide this election?

So what have you been doing for the past 12 years?

Oh, wait. It can't be that you're voting for the first time cuz the black dude is running? Nah, that can't be the reason. You're not a racist...

IMHO, young voters are going to make turnout much higher.
As far as which state....there are still battleground states, for example, Florida has a good number of electoral votes.

But even those that have SEEMED one way for awhile, could turn.

Voting or not will always be his decision as is the reason for him doing as much now.

To me I am not looking at his color (well maybe his choice of color that car is covered with...kidding will) but seeing that yes, he is tired of the way this country has been raped and wants a change or he is scared of what Obama will do to this country..uh if you noticed he did not state who he was voting for.

I think the young ones will have a big impact on this election.

The state of confusion will decide this vote

Good one.

I've been listening to my local NPR station. Brian Lehrer had a call-in segment last hour from new citizens.

One woman was originally from Bulgaria and became a US citizen last year. In 1990, she voted for the first time in Bulgaria and voted to turn out the Communists. This morning, she voted for Obama and she said she felt the same measure of excitement in casting her ballot this morning.

I don't care which way you voted, only that you did, and I love the color of your car (blue is my favorite color!)

thanks katie. I appreciate ya. you're a fine decent lady

some folks think that every black should vote, or will vote for or has voted already for Obama. I don't swing that way

Just for the record.... first time voters are usally closer to 18 than 30.

They are hardly the election deciders... but then this is the first time for the words used in an election wealth distrubution which may appeal to them being they may not understand economic issues very well, right out of high school.

my friend's children, well young adult children, are both voting today, and very excited to be doing so... for her daughter, it is her first election, and she is almost beside herself with the knowledge that she will have this opportunity to have a voice in her country's political system.. for the record, she is 18, and the young man is 21.

The global elite will decide this election -- just as they have ALL elections for some time now... Why do you think those electronic machines have modems in them? Oh yeah! To make them easy to remotely repair should there be a failure of some kind.

The big question will be....Puppet Obama? or Puppet McCain? Whose audition for the role do they think will be the most entertaining?

I just want to point something out as many 30 something first time voters may not realize....
the popular vote does not win the election. It is the electoral vote that does. A candiate may get the most votes and still not win the election.
You should wait until tomarrow morning before you get all excited about anything.

Just a FYI as it seems to me, some people may not know this and think elections are won based on popularity contest type voting. They aren't.

Ya preaching to the choir. Been posting that little fact for weeks now.
Yet popular vote or electoral vote, either way does not look good to McCain.
With the reported dedicated electoral vote nearly 3 to 1 to Obama, McCain has a better chance with the popular vote.

Obama 353 McCain 174 Ties 11
Senate Dem 58 GOP 42
House Dem 249 GOP 184 Ties 2
As reported by the nonpartisan group

Thanks for the updated map, Burns.
I turned the stuff off, as I don't need play-by-play. I'll wait until it's safe to believe.
No Dewey here!

I don't care if it is your 1st. time or 50th....just go and vote! Be counted! Then you can have a very vocal say if you win or lose!

Remember, if you don't vote....you may be the reason that guy/gal got in and fouled things up!

Polls are still open....vote!!

the popular vote does not win the election. It is the electoral vote that does.

Interestingly enough, I've known quite a few voters who don't understand this basic principle...many of them are rather 'long in the tooth,' and have been active voters for years.

The epidemic of ignorance, apathy, and misinformation is not the exclusive hallmark of any one particular group.

I'm happy that you chose to vote, Will...no matter your candidate of choice. Hopefully, this will be the first of many votes you'll cast!
