I was rather disappointed that Obama chose to allow Tiger Woods to speak at one of his inaugural events, but Fuzzy Zoeller was not.

Tonights local news was a real killer. The anchor said that yesterday was one of those times everyone will remember.
Everyone remembers what they were doing when they first heard about what happened on 9/11 or when they first heard that JFK was shot.
Now we will always remember what we were doing on that historic moment in America when Obama was inaugurated as president.
Yea....right.

I remember what I was doing when President Kennedy was shot, and I'll remember what I was doing when Obama was sworn into office. I was glued to the television set, not wanting to miss a single word. Both were very significant occurrences in history. Why wouldn't someone remember what they were doing when either one happened? And why, for God's sake, even if someone doesn't follow the party affiliation, would someone be so childish as to make fun of it?

Ummm...like burns you have a problem with your reading pomegranate.
If you dont like anything being childish, you might want to try a program called hooked on phonics.
My statement had nothing to do with party affiliation,I was making fun of the news anchor that said it was such a memorable event we will always remember what we were doing when it happened.
I dont see anything so memorable about this presidential inauguration over any other over the years other then the fact few people knew who the guy was until he ran for president.

for God's sake
and for Americas I sure hope our majority didnt make a huge mistake in this election.
Unlike so many have gone against our last president,I'm not going against Obama but I'm not going to praise the guy either until he does something that warrants it
I honestly hope that in time he will.

I find it memorable, because it's the only one I've ever got to see.
And, I always support the President, but will complain same as others when something goes against what I would like.
But that's life even with people who aren't politicians

I know what I was doing, working two jobs to help pay for the $170 million event. (of which $49 mil. is being picked up by you and I) Shameful.

Trouble with my reading pomegranate? I don't read pomegranate. Is that anything like reading tea leaves?

No, I don't have any problems with reading whatsoever.

If you dont like anything being childish, you might want to try a program called hooked on phonics.

Why would I need a program called Hooked on Phonics? (It's a proper noun, hon). I don't need to spell phonetically; I can spell correctly.

My statement had nothing to do with party affiliation,I was making fun of the news anchor that said it was such a memorable event we will always remember what we were doing when it happened.

Yeah? Well, my post was in reference to the original post, and thread topic. The statement was in reference to an old comedy team. "A Laural (sic) and Hardy handshake for our new president." Then, after that, there were no words, just an emoticon. Then, after that, other snide snippet little comments degrading our new president. Nothing in that initial post, nor in any of the others I had seen at the time I made my post, mentioned anything about a news anchor.

However, since you brought it up, it IS a very memorable event. At least for those of us who aren't bigots, anyway.

I dont see anything so memorable about this presidential inauguration over any other over the years other then the fact few people knew who the guy was until he ran for president.

That's evident. And, you see, this is where YOU have a problem with reading comprehension. IT IS A MEMORABLE EVENT BECAUSE HE IS THE FIRST BLACK MAN TO BE ELECTED TO THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

and for Americas I sure hope our majority didnt make a huge mistake in this election.

You mean like they did with the last one?

Unlike so many have gone against our last president,I'm not going against Obama but I'm not going to praise the guy either until he does something that warrants it
I honestly hope that in time he will.

Far as I'm concerned, he's already worthy of ...not praise; that's your term...but certainly of respect and recognition. Far as I'm concerned, he's already conquered at least one phenomenal feat..he managed to get elected. That was no easy task, all things considered. The man is brilliant, no doubt about that.

Whether or not Obama is brilliant remains to be seen. Let's just call him the 'feel good' choice for 2008. The rubber is hitting the road as we post.

It should have been spelled laurel, and it was a reference to a line from Blazing Saddles.

What did he say?

He said the President was near!!

OK in the future I suppose you wont mind me referring to you as something other than your username. Got it.

You need to know what Hooked on Phonics is about other than spelling.
Hooked on Phonics is a renowned program that helps parents help their children learn to read

Yea....right.Thats why you said this in your first post...

Care to provide an example where it was you read anything that backs up your claim that I'm a bigot?

I never said it wasnt memorable but to think we will always remember what we were doing when it happened is ridiculous.Go ahead and support Obama if you are prejudiced because he is black,I would rather support him because he deserved it based on something other than his color.
